Bergen Computerspiele wirklich nur Gefahren und mögliche Chancen werden übersehen? Mit diesen Fragen befasse ich mich in der vorliegenden Hausarbeit. Dazu wird im folgenden Kapitel zunächst eine Zusammenfassung der Entstehungsgeschichte, eine engere Eingrenzung von Computerspielen und deren Nutzern1 erfolgen. Dem schließt sich die Darlegung über Motivationslagen von Spielern und der Faszination, die von Computerspielen ausgeht, an. Im vierten Abschnitt werden unterschiedliche Theorien zur Wirkung von Computerspielen vorgestellt. Um die Schwierigkeiten bei den Anforderungen an die Medienpädagogik zu verdeutlichen, werde ich im fünften Kapitel die unterschiedlichen Kategorien von Computerspielen erörtern. Im darauffolgenden Abschnitt der Arbeit werde ich dann die ambivalente Sicht auf Computerspiele diskutieren. In gesellschaftlichen Diskussionen wird immer wieder auf die Gefahren von Spielen hingewiesen, was eine sehr einseitige Sichtweise ist. Aber verbirgt sich in Computerspielen nicht vielleicht auch das Potential einer Bildungschance für die Nutzer? Welche Möglichkeiten und Erfolgsaussichten Computerspiele Nutzern bieten können, wird an dieser Stelle verdeutlicht werden. Am Ende dieses Abschnittes werde im Fazit zusammenzutragen, wie es sich mit dem aktuellen Stand von Computerspielen in der Medienpädagogik verhält und welche Aussichten es gibt.
