Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Siobhan! Unseen, Lachlan had watched her grow from child to woman. Drawn to her as he'd been to no other through the long centuries of his life. Unlike the other humans that he and his brother had played with, a single night of bed sport with Siobhan would never be enough. Lachlan intended to claim her body and soul—for all time. Drawn repeatedly to the border of the crumbling estate where she'd played as a child, Siobhan had resisted the haunting allure of the place and the compelling presence she felt watching her. But when the delectable Lachlan invaded her dreams and called to her, Siobhan could resist no longer. Today she would cross the border and damn the consequences. **Please note that this is the second book in the "Fae Lovers" series. The series is available as individual stories or as a collection titled "To Play With The Fae - Fae Lovers Collection, Volume 1." The collection contains "Stranded," "Siobhan's Desire," and "Sister Mary Does A Faery." READER ADVISORY: This is an erotic, paranormal short story (approximately 7,900 words / 37 pages in length) featuring hot, graphic scenes involving the magical Fae (also known as faeries - though most definitely not of the Tinkerbell variety). Enjoy! EXCERPT: Firm lips brushed Siobhan's in the lightest of caresses. A soft sigh granted her lover further access to explore and his tongue boldly stroked hers, twining and teasing; his taste as sweet and decadent as the richest chocolate. Siobhan ran her fingers through his long, silky hair then down his back, delighting in the feel of ridged muscle under warm skin. She pulled his lean body closer, her aching n*pples rubbing against his chest. Abandoning her mouth to trail his lips down her neck, he kissed a tantalizing path to her bre*sts, suckling first one hard bud and then the other as she moaned with pleasure. Siobhan wrapped her legs around his waist and dug her heels into his butt, eager for the hard er*ction pressing so deliciously between her thighs. He rocked his hips, his p*nis sliding in her slippery juices, the head of his c*ck abrading her cl*t as he moved back and forth in languorous temptation. Siobhan reached between them, wanting—needing—that hard c*ck inside of her. She guided him in, groaning at the perfect melding as their bodies joined. Lachlan! His beautiful eyes met hers, desire a hot, molten glow in their green depths. With slow relish he smiled and then rotated his hips, wringing a gasp of pleasure from Siobhan. His c*ck pulsed inside of her as he began to thrust, leisurely at first, then faster, f*cking her with consummate skill. Running her hands down his chest, Siobhan encircled his p*nis, the tips of her fingers lightly caressing the sensitive underside of his c*ck as he pumped in and out of her wetness. Tension wound tighter in her belly each time he withdrew to his crown and then buried himself to the hilt in her soft, yielding flesh. Close to the edge, Siobhan loosed a wrenching whimper of dismay when he severed their intimate connection. But her disappointment was short-lived. Crouching between her spread legs, he put his mouth to her p*ssy and flicked her cl*t with his tongue, teasing and laving the tender flesh until Siobhan was writhing helplessly under him. With exquisite timing, he re-entered her in one smooth, deep thrust. Opening her knees wider, Siobhan dug her fingers into his firm ass and drove her hips upward, eager to be filled, shivering at the sensual friction of his er*ction stroking her sensitized flesh. Panting, teetering on the cusp of ecstasy, Siobhan cried out as her muscles clenched his c*ck in shuddering orgasm. Wave after wave crashed over her, her p*ssy gripping his p*nis and milking him of every last drop of hot seed.

Book excerpt: My name’s Quinn. If you buy into my reputation, I’m the most notorious demon hunter in New England. But rumors of my badassery have been slightly exaggerated. Instead of having kung-fu skills and a closet full of medieval weapons, I’m an ex-junkie with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time. Or the right place at the wrong time. Or…whatever. Wanted for crimes against inhumanity I (mostly) didn’t commit, I was nearly a midnight snack for a werewolf until I was “saved” by a vampire calling itself the Bride of Quiet. Already cursed by a werewolf bite, the vamp took a pint out of me too. So now…now, well, you wouldn’t think it could get worse, but you’d be dead wrong.

Until it suited his father to drag him into a world where power, wealth, violence, and cruelty are the only currency. After her parent's tragic death, she's whisked away from her home in Ireland when an unknown uncle surfaces as her new guardian. Dropped smack-dab into the All-American dream, Faye should feel grateful. Except living with her wealthy uncle, his fashion-empire-owning wife, and their seven screwed-up sons is quickly turning into a nightmare-especially when certain inappropriate feelings arise. Kyler Kennedy makes her head hurt and her heart race, but he's her cousin. He's off limits. And he's not exactly welcoming-Kyler is ignorant, moody, and downright cruel at times-but Faye sees behind the mask he wears, recognizing a kindred spirit. Kyler has sworn off girls, yet Faye gets under his skin. The more he pushes her away, the more he's drawn to her, but acting on those feelings risks a crap-ton of prejudice, and any whiff of scandal could damage the precious Kennedy brand. Concealing their feelings seems like the only choice. But when everyone has something to hide, a secret is a very dangerous thing. Book excerpt: Listen! For I sing of Owen Thorskard: valiant of heart, hopeless at algebra, last in a long line of legendary dragon slayers. Though he had few years and was not built for football, he stood between the town of Trondheim and creatures that threatened its survival. There have always been dragons. As far back as history is told, men and women have fought them, loyally defending their villages. Dragon slaying was a proud tradition. But dragons and humans have one thing in common: an insatiable appetite for fossil fuels. From the moment Henry Ford hired his first dragon slayer, no small town was safe. Dragon slayers flocked to cities, leaving more remote areas unprotected. Such was Trondheim's fate until Owen Thorskard arrived. At sixteen, with dragons advancing and his grades plummeting, Owen faced impossible odds—armed only with a sword, his legacy, and the classmate who agreed to be his bard. Listen! I am Siobhan McQuaid. I alone know the story of Owen, the story that changes everything. Listen!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Through an exploration of subjects such as Gandhi impersonators, performance artists, and ritual participants, Mimetic Desires makes an intervention toward understanding the phenomenon of impersonation and guising in South Asia and the world. This volume defines impersonation as the temporary assumption of an identity or guise in social and aesthetic performance that is perceived as not one’s own, and guising as sartorial and kinetic play more generally. Interrogating the legitimacy of the purported dialectic between the “real/original” and “fake/dupe,” Mimetic Desires refutes the ordering of identity along the lines of a binary or dichotomy that presupposes the myth of an original identity. By peeling back the layers of performative masks to reveal the process of the masquerade itself, we can see that those with the most social capital are often those with the most power and opportunities to impersonate “up” and “down” social hierarchies. The book’s twelve chapters disclose sites and processes of sociopolitical power facilitated by normative markers of social status relating to race, ethnicity, gender, caste, class, and religion—and how those markers can be manipulated to express and enhance individual and group power. The first comprehensive study to focus on impersonation in South Asia, Mimetic Desires expands on previous scholarship on impersonation and guising in vernacular theatre, dance, public processions, and religious rituals. It is particularly in conversation with the robust scholarship on gender performance in South Asia’s theatrical and dance forms. Mimetic Desires explores some of the contexts and forms of impersonation in South Asia, with its remarkable array of performing arts, to gain insight into the very human and quotidian practices of impersonation and guising.

Book excerpt: A bestselling modern classic—both poignant and funny—narrated by a fifteen year old autistic savant obsessed with Sherlock Holmes, this dazzling novel weaves together an old-fashioned mystery, a contemporary coming-of-age story, and a fascinating excursion into a mind incapable of processing emotions. Christopher John Francis Boone knows all the countries of the world and their capitals and every prime number up to 7,057. Although gifted with a superbly logical brain, Christopher is autistic. Everyday interactions and admonishments have little meaning for him. At fifteen, Christopher’s carefully constructed world falls apart when he finds his neighbour’s dog Wellington impaled on a garden fork, and he is initially blamed for the killing. Christopher decides that he will track down the real killer, and turns to his favourite fictional character, the impeccably logical Sherlock Holmes, for inspiration. But the investigation leads him down some unexpected paths and ultimately brings him face to face with the dissolution of his parents’ marriage. As Christopher tries to deal with the crisis within his own family, the narrative draws readers into the workings of Christopher’s mind. And herein lies the key to the brilliance of Mark Haddon’s choice of narrator: The most wrenching of emotional moments are chronicled by a boy who cannot fathom emotions. The effect is dazzling, making for one of the freshest debut in years: a comedy, a tearjerker, a mystery story, a novel of exceptional literary merit that is great fun to read.

Book excerpt: #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • From the author of Small Great Things and The Book of Two Ways comes “a powerfully evocative story of resilience and the triumph of the human spirit” (Taylor Jenkins Reid, author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones & The Six) Rights sold to Netflix for adaptation as a feature film • Named one of the best books of the year by She Reads Diana O’Toole is perfectly on track. She will be married by thirty, done having kids by thirty-five, and move out to the New York City suburbs, all while climbing the professional ladder in the cutthroat art auction world. She’s an associate specialist at Sotheby’s now, but her boss has hinted at a promotion if she can close a deal with a high-profile client. She’s not engaged just yet, but she knows her boyfriend, Finn, a surgical resident, is about to propose on their romantic getaway to the Galápagos—days before her thirtieth birthday. Right on time. But then a virus that felt worlds away has appeared in the city, and on the eve of their departure, Finn breaks the news: It’s all hands on deck at the hospital. He has to stay behind. You should still go, he assures her, since it would be a shame for all of their nonrefundable trip to go to waste. And so, reluctantly, she goes. Almost immediately, Diana’s dream vacation goes awry. Her luggage is lost, the Wi-Fi is nearly nonexistent, and the hotel they’d booked is shut down due to the pandemic. In fact, the whole island is now under quarantine, and she is stranded until the borders reopen. Completely isolated, she must venture beyond her comfort zone. Slowly, she carves out a connection with a local family when a teenager with a secret opens up to Diana, despite her father’s suspicion of outsiders. In the Galápagos Islands, where Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection was formed, Diana finds herself examining her relationships, her choices, and herself—and wondering if when she goes home, she too will have evolved into someone completely different.
