We have all read the stories by Dr. John Watson in which he narrates his adventures with Sherlock Holmes, but behind every great man, there is a great woman... and Mary Morstan holds her own place in the hearts of all Sherlockians. Today, newly discovered papers reveal the role she played in the adventures we know so well, which cast a light on her frequent absences from home and which recount her own thrilling personal adventures in Victorian London in a series of poignant tales full of passion and mystery, pain and suspense, love and hope. Stefano Guerra is a pediatric neuropsychiatrist, psychoanalyst, professor, and retired school headmaster. He is the author of theatrical texts and film scripts, and he founded “Uno Studio in Holmes”, the Italian Sherlockian Society, of which he has also been president. He is a member of the Baker Street Irregulars and has authored several articles published in Italy and abroad on the world of Sherlock Holmes, as well as a Sherlockian encyclopedia (with Solito). Enrico Solito is a pediatrician and child neuropsychiatrist who has worked extensively with Emergency. He is a past president of Uno Studio in Holmes, the first Italian member of the Baker Street Irregulars, and also a member of other Sherlockian associations. With Stefano Guerra, he has co-authored the only Italian Sherlockian encyclopedia, as well as apocryphal Holmes stories and novels set in different contexts. Mauro Castellini is a Los Angeles-based film producer. Born in Mantova, Italy, after obtaining his Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences at Milano’s IULM, he moved to Rome, where his film career took off. Having been introduced to Holmes’ world by his friends Mr. Solito and Mr. Guerra, he’s now teamed up with them to write this book, that marks his literary debut. Gian Luca Guerra was born in Rome to a family connected to the film and cultural industries, in which he has passionately worked his entire life. Book excerpt: Short storyWe have had some dramatic entrances and exits upon our small stage at Baker Street, but I cannot recollect anything more sudden and startling than the first appearance of Thorneycroft Huxtable, M.A., Ph.D., etc. His card, which seemed too small to carry the weight of his academic distinctions, preceded him by a few seconds, and then he entered himself--so large, so pompous, and so dignified that he was the very embodiment of self-possession and solidity. And yet his first action, when the door had closed behind him, was to stagger against the table, whence he slipped down upon the floor, and there was that majestic figure prostrate and insensible upon our bearskin hearth-rug.We had sprung to our feet, and for a few moments we stared in silent amazement at this ponderous piece of wreckage, which told of some sudden and fatal storm far out on the ocean of life. Then Holmes hurried with a cushion for his head, and I with brandy for his lips. The heavy, white face was seamed with lines of trouble, the hanging pouches under the closed eyes were leaden in colour, the loose mouth drooped dolorously at the corners, the rolling chins were unshaven. Collar and shirt bore the grime of a long journey, and the hair bristled unkempt from the well-shaped head. It was a sorely stricken man who lay before us.

Book excerpt: Giallo - novelette (35 pagine) - A Sherlock Holmes story with many contemporary resonances “Is this the ending of days?” gasps Watson in this ground-breaking story of religion and the climate change. Holmes is petitioned by the groom of the Bedlam lunatic asylum to investigate a mysterious birth that has taken place there. And after the notorious winter of 1894/5, an inscrutable politician, gives Holmes a commission to investigate whether the climate is changing and whether industrialisation is the cause. Holmes’s investigation into both cases has ambiguous results and Holmes is left to philosophise on the parallels between the two. A Sherlock Holmes story with many contemporary resonances. The wealthy Lord Simon, the groom, doesn’t know whether his new wife – Hetty Doran of San Francisco – is dead or alive, or if she’s been kidnapped, or has left with another man behind his back. There had been some strange happenings before her disappearance, including at the wedding, when Hetty dropped her bouquet and a man at the front row of the church handed it back to her. After the ceremony and back at home, her mood had suddenly soured and she’d gone up to her room, from where she had vanished.
