This study is aimed to investigate the relationship between procrastination, self-regulation and emotional intelligence on adult sample. Participants were 82 adults, average age 32.66 years old. Procrastination was measured by General Procrastination Scale by Lay in adaptation of Vindeker and Ostanin. Volitional aspect of self-regulation was measured by Scale of Action Control in Planning by Kuhl in adaptation of Shapkin. Self-regulation was assessed using Self-Regulation Profile Questionnaire by Morosanova. Emotional intelligence was assessed using Emotional Intelligence Inventory by Lucin. Multiple regression revealed self-regulation as a significant predictor of procrastination. Kruskal-Wallis H test revealed significant differences in self-regulation and in emotional intelligence between low, medium and high procrastinators. Low and medium procrastinators significantly exceeded high procrastinators on general level of self-regulation, modeling, programming and evaluation of results. High procrastinators tend to evaluate inadequately the time required to fulfil the task and act impulsively, without thinking of the consequences of delay. High procrastinators were significantly lower than low and medium procrastinators on emotional intelligence.
