Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Holy Scriptures, the Bible, is the foundation of our faith. It is God-breathed. It gives us the full knowledge of Him and of His Son. "This is the eternal life, that they should know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent" (John 17:3). God's word gives us eternal life through faith in Christ Jesus. It makes us men and women of God. It is most profitable for our spiritual life, for it teaches us, convicts us, corrects us, and instructs us in righteousness. Thus, we are made complete and fully equipped to do God's will. We are exhorted by our Lord himself to search the Scriptures for in them is the witness concerning Him (see John 5:37). A special blessing is given by God to those who read, hear and keep His word (see Revelation 1:3). The New Testament is composed of twenty-seven books. Each of these twenty-seven books reveals Christ to us in a special aspect of His fullness. Thus, we are able to know Christ in His fullness. In this volume, each book in the New Testament is briefly discussed, with special attention to seeing Christ in His fullness. It is not an exhaustive study, its purpose simply being to offer a taste of the sweet word of God so as to induce us to search His word more diligently. May He draw us deeper into His word so that we may be drawn deeper into Him.

He continued, I would rate this book right up with his Tabernacle studies. Readers will once again be amazed and delighted to see figures and types of Christ where they least expected to find them. The writer to the Hebrews wrote in 10:1, For the law having a shadow of good things to come. Hershberger brings these shadows alive. This book has served many through personal studies and group studies. Every preacher and Bible teacher could benefit from this well thought out study."

Book excerpt: Christ is marvelously foreshadowed in every piece of the Tabernacle. Every feature was planned by God with design and purpose. Because of God's plan that the Tabernacle would be fulfilled in Christ, both in its structure as well as in its function, it can be said that this book is more about Christ than the Tabernacle. As readers tour this amazing interpretive construction with Hershberger, they will be delighted to see figures of Christ where they least expected to find them. The smallest details are given significance in this great symbolic foreshadowing of Christ and His Church. This book has served many through personal studies and group studies. Every preacher and Bible teacher could benefit from this well thought out study.

Day by day throughout the year, readers will see the beauty of Christ in fresh new ways, creating a deeper understanding and appreciation for who Jesus is and what he accomplished through his Cross and Resurrection.

Book excerpt: This 10-week study of Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon mines the Wisdom Literature not only for wise principles for living, but also for the wise person these books point to through their drama, poetry, proverb, and song. In her accessible and authentic style, Nancy Guthrie focuses on seeing Jesus in the Old Testament instead of emphasizing works-based moralism. She presents clear commentary and contemporary application of gospel truths, speaking directly to issues such as repentance, submission, happiness, and sexuality. Each weekly lesson includes questions for personal study, a contemporary teaching chapter that emphasizes how the passage fits into the bigger story of redemptive history, a brief section on how the passage uniquely points to what is yet to come at the consummation of Christ's kingdom, and a leader's guide for group discussion.

When we want to see who Jesus was and why he came, we tend to turn to the New Testament accounts of his birth in Bethlehem, his sermon on the hillside and his death on a cross. Yet we discover on the road to Emmaus that Jesus' way of explaining who he was and why he came was to work his way through the Old Testament--through Genesis and Exodus, Psalms and Proverbs, Isaiah and Jeremiah. In Seeing Jesus, Nancy Guthrie takes us through 60 selected Old Testament readings to see how they reveal Jesus in their promises and prophesies, sacrifices and shadows. Your eyes will be opened to the epic scope of the Bible's story like never before, as you see what God's plan for His people has been all along. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The classic book, Christ in the Tabernacle by A.B. Simpson, is subtitled "The Old Testament portrayal of the Christ of the New Testament." A.B. Simpson again brings the truths of the Old Testament wilderness tabernacle and its makeup, linens, structure and furnishings contained within to the forefront of a simplistic theological discussion on how Christ is portrayed by those items. It is a true, simple and honest approach at showing how the Old Testament priests and people of God (the Israelites) could look forward to the coming Messiah and see him through the ordinary things they dealt with in their daily worship. In eight chapters A.B. Simpson brings to life the wilderness tabernacle in vivid detail and shows how the indestructible wood, the gold, the finest linens, the carvings were all superimposing on all of it the likeness of Christ. A. B. Simpson lifts up Jesus Christ in this book and tries to get the lay person to understand the importance that all Scripture points to Christ both in the Old Testament and the New Testament. To A.B. Simpson, it was vital that Christ was visible as the coming Messiah in the Old Testament and the Messiah that died and was resurrected in the New Testament.

Book excerpt: Encounter Jesus Like Never Before through Eastern Eyes Throughout these pages, Ravi Zacharias and Abdu Murray invite readers to rediscover the cultural insights we often miss when we ignore the Eastern context of the Bible. They offer a refreshing picture of Jesus, one that appeals to Eastern readers and can penetrate the hearts and imaginations of postmodern Westerners. In Seeing Jesus from the East, Ravi Zacharias and Abdu Murray show us why a broader view of Jesus is needed - one that recognizes the uniquely Eastern ways of thinking and communicating found in the pages of the Bible. Zacharias and Murray capture a revitalized gospel message, presenting it through this Eastern lens and revealing its power afresh to Western hearts and minds. Incorporating story, vivid imagery, and the concepts of honor and shame, sacrifice, and rewards, Seeing Jesus from the East calls believers and skeptics, both Eastern and Western, to a fresh encounter with the living and boundless Jesus.

Although typically confined to Old Testament theology, Emerson sees fruitfulness in applying this method to New Testament theology as well. Instead of a thematic or book-by-book analysis, Emerson attempts to trace the primary theological message of the New Testament through paying attention to its narrative and canonical shape. He concludes that the order of the books of the New Testament emphasize the story of Christ's inauguration, commissioning, and consummation of the new creation.

Book excerpt: This book addresses the questions about the believer's relationship to the Torah (the five Books of Moses, or the Pentateuch) and its commandments (the Law): Since Jesus kept the Law, are believers (Jewish and Gentile) also obliged to keep the Law, or at least some portions of it (Sabbath, the food laws, etc.)? What about the Oral Law (rabbinic traditions)? How does the Torah point to the Messiah? How do we apply the Law of Moses today? Though this book is based on more than a decade of academic research, it is written with the non-academic reader in mind and provides easy-to-understand answers to the questions related to the Torah and does so in a manner thoroughly rooted in a careful reading of the biblical text.
