This book reveals the sins of the fathers of Israel and how those sins still affect us today. The remedy, of course, is the blood of Jesus, and the pathway to victory involves cleansing the iniquity from our bloodlines through repentance and renunciation. To prevent history from repeating itself in our generation, we must look back at the errors made through sin and apostasy which brought Israel's demise. Once we remove the commonalities we have with the enemy, we then, and only then, have complete dominion over them. This book serves as a template to remove the iniquity in our bloodlines, providing prayers that break the power at work behind one of the most formidable foes of God's people, the Syrian kings.

Book excerpt: Are your roots firmly grounded in Scripture? The destiny of Israel and the Christian Church is bound together, evident in the Scriptures. Learning this truth is essential for survival. Jewish Roots—A Foundation of Biblical Theology is an introduction to biblical theology from a Jewish contextual point of view plus practical evaluation and council for the Messianic Jewish communities and the Christian Church. Jewish Roots presents the fundamentals regarding biblical theology, Israel and the Church, the Jewish people, the Messianic Jewish community, and much more. Important matters are discussed such as the relationship of law and grace, the role of the Spirit, and an approach to Judaism. This new edition considers recent biblical scholarship and evaluates the progress of the Messianic Jewish community—a pulsating grass roots movement among Jewish and non-Jewish followers of Jesus of Nazareth who recognize and identify with their Jewishness. Messianic Judaism and Messianic Jewish biblical theology are significant not only to those who are part of Messianic Jewish congregations—indeed, because the destiny of Israel and the Church is bound together, Messianic Jewish theology has implications of great importance for all people worldwide.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The volume is a commentary on 1 Enoch chapters 91-108 that begins with the Ethiopic text tradition but also takes the Greek and Aramaic (Dead Sea Scrolls) evidence into account. This section of 1 Enoch, which contains material from at least five different documents composed some time during the 2nd century BCE, provides a window into the early stages of the reception of the earliest Enoch tradition, as it was being negotiated in relation to elitist religious opponents, on the one hand, and in relation to other Jewish traditions that were flourishing at the time. The commentary, at the beginning of which there is an extensive introduction, is structured in the following way: there is a translation for each unit of text (including the Greek and Aramaic where it exists, with the Greek and Ethiopic translations presented synoptically), followed by detailed textual notes that justify the translation and provide information on a full range of variations among the manuscripts. This, in turn, is followed by a General Comment on the unit of text; after this there are detailed notes on each subdivision of the text which attempt to situate the content within the stream of biblical interpretation and developing Jewish traditions of the Second Temple period. The five documents in 1 Enoch 91-108 are dealt with in the following order: (1) Apocalypse of Weeks (93:1-10; 91:11-17); (2) Admonition (91:1-10, 18-19); (3) Epistle of Enoch (92:1-5; 93:11-105:2; (4) Birth of Noah (106-107); and (5) the Eschatological Appendix (108).

This book was released on 2012-06-03 with total page 347 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In spite of some scholars’ inclination to include the book of Jubilees as another witness to “Enochic Judaism,” the relationship of Jubilees to the apocalyptic writings and events surrounding the Maccabean revolt has never been adequately clarified. This book builds on scholarship on genre to establish a clear pattern among the ways Jubilees resembles and differs from other apocalypses. Jubilees matches the apocalypses of its day in overall structure and literary morphology. Jubilees also uses the literary genre to raise the issues typical of the apocalypses—including revelation, angels and demons, judgment, and eschatology—but rejects what the apocalypses typically say about those issues, subverting reader expectations with a corrected view. In addition to the main argument concerning Jubilees, this volume’s survey of what is fundamentally apocalyptic about apocalyptic literature advances the understanding of early Jewish apocalyptic literature and, in turn, of later apocalypses and comparable perspectives, including those of Paul and the Qumran sectarians.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whether you know Hebrew or not, this book will provide you with a quick reference resource for learning the meaning of many Hebrew words that lie beneath the English translations, which will open new doors for you into Biblical interpretation. The Hebrew language of the Bible must be understood from its original and Ancient Hebrew perspective. Our interpretation of a word like "holy" is an abstract idea, derived out of a Greco-Roman culture and mindset, which is usually understood as someone or something that is especially godly, pious or spiritual. However, the Hebrew word קדוש (qadosh) means, from an Ancient Hebrew perspective, unique and is defined in this dictionary as: "Someone or something that has, or has been given the quality of specialness, and has been separated from the rest for a special purpose." With this interpretation, we discover that the nation of Israel is not "holy," in the sense of godliness or piety, but is a unique and special people, separated from all others to serve God. This Biblical Hebrew dictionary contains the one thousand most frequent verbs and nouns found within the Hebrew Bible. Each word is translated and defined from its original concrete Ancient Hebrew perspective, allowing for a more accurate interpretation of the text. In addition to the one thousand verbs and nouns, the appendices in the book include a complete list of Hebrew pronouns, prepositions, adverbs, conjunctions and numbers.

Book excerpt: In 2015, author Jeni Krumnow’s youngest son, Caleb, was nineteen years old. He worked full-time for the Air National Guard and had everything a young man could want. But beneath all the good things Caleb had going for him, had a drinking problem and quickly became addicted to meth. For Jeni and the rest of his family, it would prove to be one of the hardest seasons of their life. However, for Jeni and her husband Kevin, it was in that season of great fear, heartache, loss, and loneliness that they came to know the love of God like never before. In Generation Freedom, she shares her family’s journey hoping to help others face their most difficult moments with great faith and hope. In this story and activation guide, Jeni seeks to help members of the body of Christ discover the truths that bring complete freedom—freedom from all fears attached to addictions, diseases, illnesses, depressions, anxieties, worries, or anything the enemy would want to use against you. Generation Freedom goes beyond the generational boundaries to offer a guide to help you step into a new normal in Christ where you’ll learn how to live in a place of greater intimacy and freedom with Him. It teaches you how to live in complete freedom from the fears you face in life no matter how young or old you are.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is concerned with exploring sectarian attitudes toward wealth and the economic practices that gave rise to and issued from those attitudes. An introductory chapter establishes the state of the question. Three subsequent chapters focus on major sectarian texts: the Damascus Document, the Rule of the Community, and 4QInstruction A. Other sectarian and non-sectarian texts that mention wealth are discussed in a fifth chapter, while archaeological evidence from the Qumran region and contemporary documentary texts are introduced in chapters seven and eight. Finally, ancient secondary testimony on Essene economic practices is discussed. The book breaks new ground in arguing for several biblical rationales for the practice of shared wealth. Its integration of archaeological and documentary evidence sheds surprising new light on the economic organization of the Qumran community.
