They are brothers who are also angels trying to live a life on Earth as ordinary children. They have wings and can fly, teleport, and be invisible, and they believe they are the only angels attempting such an undertaking. Amidst their need for secrecy, they have already survived an attempt on their lives by a mad photographer, and the evil intentions of a turned angel. Now it seems they are being readied for a new mission to right the wrongs of a distant past, even though they don’t yet understand how they will go about this new quest. As a further complication, the discovery of an ancient chalice starts to give them unnerving dreams, designed to provide them with knowledge of past events that relate to the future. But this knowledge also exposes them to considerable danger from both human and angelic realms. In all of this, they find an unexpected future ally in a very sick boy in a hospital on the far side of the world.

In his self-imposed exile to the snowy wastes of Korengad, he aids an army of fierce northmen as they attempt to recapture their homeland from the clutches of the very kingdom he once served. Meanwhile, Lady Alynor Mirrowell has not heard from her husband in years – four years, to be exact. Book excerpt: The Book of Revelation contains some of the most difficult passages in Scripture. Grant Osborne's commentary on Revelation interprets the text while also introducing readers to the perspectives of contemporary scholarship in a clear and accessible manner. Osborne begins with a thorough introduction to Revelation and the many difficulties involved in its interpretation. He discusses authorship, date of writing, and the social and cultural setting of the work. He also examines elements that complicate the interpretation of apocalyptic literature, including the use of symbols and figures of speech, Old Testament allusions, and the role of prophetic prediction. Osborne surveys various approaches commentators have taken on whether Revelation refers primarily to the past or to events that are yet future. Rather than exegeting the text narrowly in a verse-by-verse manner, Osborne examines larger sections in order to locate and emphasize the writer's central message and the theology found therein. Throughout, he presents his conclusions in an accessible manner. When dealing with particularly problematic sections, he considers the full range of suggested interpretations and introduces the reader to a broad spectrum of commentators. Revelation seeks to reach a broad audience with scholarly research from a decidedly evangelical perspective.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: According to the pre-modern Christian tradition, knowledge of God is mainly testimonial: we know certain important truths about God and divine things because God himself has told them to us. In academic theology of late this view is often summarily dismissed. But to do so is a mistake, claims Mats Wahlberg, who argues that the testimonial understanding of revelation is indispensable to Christian theology. Criticizing the currently common idea that revelation should be construed exclusively in terms of God s self manifestation in history or through inner experience, Wahlberg discusses the concept of divine testimony in the context of the debate about how any knowledge of God is possible. He draws on resources from contemporary analytic philosophy -- especially John McDowell and Nicholas Wolterstorff -- to argue for the intellectual viability of revelation as divine testimony.

Book excerpt: Fifty-one-year-old Jack Molay is a wealthy, retired engineer who now finds himself with plenty of time to read. Among his reading material are two highly controversial works of nonfiction: Holy Blood, Holy Grail and The Tomb of God. Both books posit that Jesus did not die in the Holy Land, as the Bible says, but rather later in Franceand that his body was buried there. Molay is surprised when he seemingly makes more sense of these books than the authors. He believes the books are correct; furthermore, he believes he can locate the final resting place of Jesus Christ. He organizes an expedition to southern France and, once there, uses his expertise as a mining engineer to locate a cave that contains two limestone ossuaries filled with bones. His friend and associate, Dr. Ron Campbell, determines that the hand bones show evidence of a crucifixionbut are the bones really the last remnants of Jesus Christ? Soon, Molay feels as if he and his team are in danger. The Vatican appears, as do other sinister forces planning to thwart their efforts. If Molays suspicions are true, the implications for the entire Christian faith are dramatic. There are those who would do anything to keep Molays discovery a secret; his curiosity could get him killed.

Book excerpt: The book of Revelation offers us an interesting theological dilemma. It states Rev 22:16. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. Revelation also states it is "the true sayings" of Jesus and that it is "the testimony of Christ". If this is not "the gospel of Jesus Christ" then what is it and should we consider it accursed testimony of an angel? If it is not to be considered accursed, then it cannot be some other gospel message then what was already given previously. However, this is the conundrum, for if this is the gospel message, then why do so few understand it? There is a possibility which few consider but is the overall thesis of this apology. The reason people don't understand revelation is because they never understood what the gospel message was in the first place! In that case, where does that put those who claim it is not essential for salvation? Do you not find it quite curious that the most "Personally" given NT book By Jesus himself, is the least understood and given the least importance for Salvation in Christendom?....There are numerous preachers and bible exegetes but as Paul said "... I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge" . Most who profess the name of Christ are feeding on doctrines of devils and the ignorant.. There are, without question, many "qualified" teachers and scholars with many years of "dedication" and "solid education". However, teachers, no matter how well lettered or numbered in degrees; if obtained from others; who are just as equally ignorant in such matters, are just " blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch."

Grave-digger and funeral enthusiast Cameron Carter lives a relatively quiet life. Until a misplaced shovel cracks open a coffin lid and reveals a hidden fortune, that is. Nearly one hundred and seventy years after the trial of Scotland's notorious body snatchers, William Burke and William Hare, the ancient trade of grave robbing returns to the town's cemetries. Forming an unholy union with small time crook, Adam, Cameron is drawn into a web of crime that involves a bogus American Scholars' Society, chocolate chip ice cream and Steve McQueen.Their sacriligious scheming doesn't go quite to plan, however, and events begin to spiral dangerously beyond Cameron's control. Will our hero pull the tour guide of his dreams? Will his partner in crime ever shift those microwaves? Is there an afterlife? In Robin Mitchell's rude and darkly comic debut novel, all the answers will be exhumed.
