Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Family was created to be powerful. Adam and Eve were commissioned to tend the Garden of Eden, and their children were supposed to reproduce the culture of the Garden over the whole world. Unfortunately, in the Garden we were separated from the Father and family lost its identity, its purpose, and its power. Although we were orphans, the Father never stopped pursuing us, and "when the fullness of time had come," our loving Daddy sent Jesus on a rescue mission. He restored us back into the presence of the Father and to our identity. Family was and still is the Father's plan. The time is now for families to be restored and play a critical role in the "restoration of all things." This book provides key strategies that bring healing to your own heart, to your family relationships, and to the inheritance mindset. The result will be a restoration of power and influence that was your family's destiny from the beginning of time

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: RESTORING THE FATHER TO THE FAMILY is a powerful, personal & compelling story of the traditional family under siege. One fourth of American families are now categorized as traditional as compared to seventy percent in 1940. The decline of 'family values' & a rising incidence of poverty & crime has been associated with the decline of the traditional family. The vicissitudes of life have revealed to the author what multiple regression tables suggest to sociologists. The author confronts the new, popular ideals for male-female relationships using his personal experiences, Biblical analogy, & deep Christian faith to argue that benevolent & authoritative fatherhood is the foundation for loving & fruitful relationships & a more secure & healthy society. The root of the problem is that as the traditional family disappears, children lose their fathers. Increasingly, the mother shoulders responsibility for the entire family. The male is, more & more, taking responsibility only for himself--he is doing poorly even there. His procreative function continues, but in a sporadic manner. Once begun, the missing father syndrome becomes self-perpetuating & the family becomes dysfunctional. Order from: Intaglio Press, P.O. Box 9952, College Station, TX 77842. Book excerpt: For Nations to be Transformed into the Kingdom of God Men Must Become A New Creation In Christ Jesus There Must Be A New Womanhood in Christ There Must Be A Restoration of the Family As God designed it, based on the marriage of one man and one woman suitable for each other, to bring forth and bring up children in the image and likeness of God. By ongoing, consistent witness of New Men, New Women, and New Families, communities and then nations are transformed. It Must Begin With Men. God created the man first then the woman out of the man. First, Men must become a New Creation In Christ. New men not only witness to other men, but they witness to women to lift up women and bring then to a New Womanhood in Christ Jesus. New Men and New Women in Christ marry to form New Families. New families become centers of Christian witness in their neighborhood to transform communities.

Book excerpt: A Strictly Biblical Perspective Ministries Inc. has strategically designed a biblical cognitive character-based training curriculum. It is designed to equip pastors, chaplains, and faith-based instructors with insight for preparing reentry volunteers as mentors to be matched with returning citizens upon their release from prison or while incarcerated. The curriculum is designed with six modules to assist faith-based volunteers in developing a biblical perspective into God's fourfold purpose for their lives: relationships, character development, service, and reproduction. The fifth module is designed to address the spiritual warfare that ministry leaders and faith-based volunteers will encounter in mentoring the "returning citizen population." The final module is designed to assist ministry leaders and faith-based volunteers in understanding how to assist returning citizens in overcoming the effects of alcohol and drug addiction. This course will build the capacity of members within the faith-based community to minister to returning citizens in restoration from crime and addiction. The curriculum is designed to enhance the quality of care to the "ex offender population" by producing spiritually mature mentors walking in close fellowship with God. The curriculum is extremely comprehensive and highly interactive and will assist volunteers in developing a functional understanding of their roles in mentoring returning citizens through the use of scriptures, a series of individual and small group exercises.

Book excerpt: To suppose that God has a providential plan based on a special covenant with Israel and realised in the atonement presents us with a moral problem. In Ruin and Restoration David Martin sketches a radical naturalistic account of the atonement based on the innocent paying for the sins of the guilty through ordinary social processes. An exercise in socio-theology, the book reflects on the contrast between ’the world’ governed by the dynamic of violence as analysed by the social sciences, including international relations, and the emergence in Christianity (and Buddhism) of a non-violent alternative. A ’governing essay’ fuses frameworks drawn from Reinhold Niebuhr, Karl Jaspers, Ernst Troeltsch and Max Weber and explores the relation between the cultural sciences, especially sociology, and theology treated as another but very distinctive cultural science. Six commentaries then deal with the atonement in detail; with the nature of Christian language and grammar, and with its characteristic mutations due to necessary compromises with ’the world’; with sex and violence; and with the liturgy as a concentrated mode of reconciliation.

Book excerpt: 'Restoring the First-century Church in the Twenty-first Century: Essays on the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement in Honor of Don Haymes' is a snap-shot of a major American religious movement just after the turn of the millennium. When the ÒDisciplesÓ of Alexander Campbell and the ÒChristiansÓ of Barton Warren Stone joined forces early in the 19th century, the first indigenous ecumenical movement in the United States came into being. Two hundred years later, this American experiment in biblical primitivism has resulted in three, possibly four, large segments. Best known is the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), active wherever ecumenical Christians gather. The denomination is typically theologically open, having been reshaped by theological Liberalism and the Social Gospel in the twentieth century, and has been re-organized on the model of other Protestant bodies. The largest group, the Churches of Christ, easily distinguished by their insistence on 'a cappella' music (singing only), is theologically conservative, now tending towards the evangelical, and congregationally autonomous, though with a denominational sense of brotherhood. The Christian Churches/Churches of Christ (Independent) are a 'via media' between the two other bodies: theologically conservative and evangelical, congregationally autonomous, pastorally oriented, and comfortable with instrumental music. The fourth numerically significant group, the churches of Christ (Anti-Institutional), is a conservative reaction to the 'a cappella' churches, much in the way that the Southern ''a capella' churches reacted against the emerging intellectual culture and social location, instrumental music and institutional centrism of the Northern Disciples following the Civil War. Besides these four, numerous smaller fragments, typically one-article splinter groups, decorate the history of the Restoration Movement: One-Cup brethren, Premillennialists, No-Sunday-School congregations, No-Located-Preacher churches, and others. This movement to unite Christians on the basis of faith and immersion in Jesus Christ, and to restore New-Testament Christianity, is too little recognized on the American religious landscape, and it has been too little studied by the academic community. This volume is focused primarily on the 'a cappella' churches and their interests, but implications for the entire Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement abound. The voices that speak freely within were unimpeded in authoring these essays by standards of orthodoxy imposed from without. All of the contributors are acquainted with Don Haymes, the honoree of the volume, and have been inspired by this friend and colleague, a man with a rigorous and earthy intellect and a heavenly spirit. David Bundy, series editor Studies in the History and Culture of World Christianities
