Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from From McKinley to Harding: Personal Recollections of Our Presidents My vote was for Harrison. My choice was Mc Kinley. I did not like President Harrison. Al though I recognized his ability and honesty, his manner chilled me. Many people admired him, but he had very few warm friends. It was said of him by Tom Reed that Senator Harrison carried his lunch in his coat-tail pocket during the Senate ses sion and then ate a cold lunch. I came in personal touch with him two or three times, but there was no contact of enthusiasm. Per haps I was somewhat prejudiced by our Illinois sen ator, Charles B. Farwell, who hated Harrison with all his nature. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Memories of the White House: The Home Life of Our Presidents From Lincoln to Roosevelt I beg to express my indebtedness to Mr. Henry Rood, who first suggested to me these personal recollections of the family and home life of the Presidents I have known, while they resided in the White House. After months of consultation with me and study of my diaries, he organized the several chapters and wrote them. It is hoped that this unpretentious volume will give readers a better understanding than they might otherwise have had, of Presidents Lincoln, Johnson, Grant, Hayes, Garfield, Arthur, Cleveland, Harrison, McKinley, and Roosevelt, whom I saw daily, and who, one and all, have treated me with the utmost kindness and consideration during my forty-six years of continuous service in the Executive Office. Book Synopsis Dog Days at the White House by : Traphes Bryant
Download or read book Dog Days at the White House written by Traphes Bryant and published by Ishi Press. This book was released on 2010 with total page 343 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What makes this book worth reprinting is not the canine dogs described in this book but the human female kinds of dogs, the women who slept with the presidents who were not necessarily the wives. This book, nearly forgotten, was the first to reveal numerous presidential affairs. It was the first to report that President Kennedy had an insatiable appetite for women, the human kind. It was the original source for a story that has been repeated many times since. This story is found on page 38 of this book. The story goes: Jacqueline was in the presidential bed in the White House bedroom, when she discovered a woman's panties in between the sheets. She held up the panties she had found with two fingers in much the same way that she would hold up a dead mouse and she said to the president, "Would you please find out whose these are, because they are not my size?" It is a fact that every president in more than one hundred years has had a dog, with the exception of President Clinton, who had a cat, although even Clinton did finally get a dog near the end of his term. Not all of these presidents were dog lovers. In some cases, the President obviously got a dog just to get the Dog Lover's Vote. President Obama must have read this book, because when he was elected to office, he knew that the first thing he had to do was get a dog. This book starts with the punch line to a joke: "This book is dedicated to man's best friend - women."

Watson and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-02-07 with total page 642 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Lives of the Presidents of the United States, to Which Is Prefixed an Introductory History of the United States, From the Discovery Till the Time of Washington These memoirs of the Presidents of the United States have been composed and arranged upon a plan having some claim to novelty. An introductory chapter traces the his tory of the country up to the time when the first of our chief magistrates appeared in the public arena, and the ensuing biographies contain everything of importance in our subsequent career as a nation; so that while we give complete lives of the men, we also give the whole history of the mighty republic, over Whose destinies they have been called to preside. It is believed that this design lends the work an interest beyond that which would arise from. A simple succession of memoirs.
