Ronan, a licensed independent clinical social worker, examines the facts of Elvis Presley 's journey on Earth to reveal the truths of the legendary rocker 's life and the root causes of his death in Psychological Autopsy of Elvis Presley, subtitled The Elvis Analysis: The Role of Suggestion in the Etiology of Psychosomatic Disorders. No one can escape the legacy of Elvis celebrity, but Ronan uses the full resources of his profession to forge beyond the well-known facts and the irrepressible hype. Ronan presents a set of psychological circumstances of Elvis death self-image, relationships, the death of his mother and twin brother, and his own morbid feelings before he died. The author relates these circumstances to several case studies and adds layers of analysis from hypnotherapy, traditional psychology, and biomedical ethics. In so doing, Ronan forces the reader to consider the sheer psychological force that core beliefs play in creating and re-creating lives, and in dooming others to an early end. The book is a journey fueled by facts and original thinking that lead the reader to unexpected revelations.

Book excerpt: "August 16, 1977: It was like a shot heard 'round the world -- the tragic news that Elvis Presley had died. Millions mourned the loss of Elvis as acutely as if grieving for a member of their own family or a dear friend. Even now, a decade later, people who were never Elvis fans have 'flashbulb memories' of where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news. Why, Dr. Raymond Moody wanted to know when he began researching Elvis After Life, did the news of a forty-two-year-old rock 'n' roll star's death in Memphis, Tennessee, have such a profound impact on millions of lives? His subjects were diverse -- young and old, truck drivers and psychologists, ardent Elvis fans and those who had little interest in him -- but they all had one thing in common. Each had a psychic experience involving Elvis Presley that changed their lives forever. Dr. Moody introduces readers to a middle-aged police officer who finds his run-away son using information conveyed to him in a dream -- by Elvis Presley. To young parents who could accept their ten-year-old daughter's death because the spirit of Elvis was there to welcome her into heaven. To a young divorcee, terrified of being alone for the birth of her third child, who finds comfort and joy in Elvis's presence in the delivery room. These experiences -- plus numerous others -- happened to people that Dr. Moody describes as functioning and psychologically normal, people with little or no interest in the paranormal. Not one of them ever questioned the reality of the experience; they questioned only why Elvis chose to communicate with them. Elvis After Life is a provocative book by a respected doctor and author, a book that will linger in reader's minds just as the legend of Elvis Presley lives on in the American psyche."--front and back flaps.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the reason why I wrote this script about Elvis. I grew up with his music and loved it. But what I so admired about him, was the way he never gave up. He was so determined he would become famous, and look after his parents. When I became older I wanted to know why he seemed so unhappy, never content. He seemed to be always looking for something, which I can relate to. How I seem to know this is because the way he acted and the body language. So when they reckon he died, things did not seem to add up. So many things started to come to light. Even I could tell by just looking at the body in the coffin was not Elvis. Why were people coming out with so many different stories about the night he died? For example, no one could get the colour of his PJs correct. You would also know if someone had not came to bed all night, I know I would know if I was alone for more then a few hours, and why not accept the American flag. He strongly believes in his country. That is why I had to look more into it. So many fans have been hurt, why he would do this. When he cared so much about the people. Did Colonel Parker have something to do with this? After all, he is worth more dead than alive. He was wealthy, so he could just disappear. And even if he was sick, he could afford the best Medical help he needed. Why did they not do a DNA if he is really dead, because Lisa would know that is the one thing that can prove he is really dead? Would you not do a DNA test just so everyone would get of your back, and so you can have a quite life? I know I would owe it to his fans, just so he could rest in peace. Hoping this book would spark of more questions. Looking for answers’.

Book excerpt: After fifteen years of extensive research, the non-fiction book, "EVIDENCE OF MURDER - Investigating the Strange Death of Elvis Presley", presents the first full, in-depth critical study of the complete facts of Elvis' sudden demise. This book has been an uncompromised quest for the truth, and the result is both astonishing and shocking. All of the facts in the book firmly establish one, and ONLY one conclusion: ELVIS PRESLEY WAS MURDERED. Unrelentingly focusing on the vital aspects of WHY the murder was committed, HOW it was brilliantly and flawlessly executed, and exactly WHO the perpetrator was, the book meticulously examines seven prime suspects and then carefully eliminates them one by one until the guilty assassin is fully and unmistakably exposed. A shocking revelation that the previous hard facts of the investigation will make it impossible for any honest reader to dispute or reject. And, on the contrary - those legions of doubters who have closed their minds to rational thinking and clear facts will probably most happily have found a topic which they will hotly and vehemently debate for the rest of their lives. Elvis Presley was the icon of the Twentieth Century, and he has remained a SuperStar without rival. His sudden death in the summer of 1977 has unceasingly been something of a mystery, an unexplained and misunderstood event creating an intense fulcrum of fascination and highly charged emotion and confusion and doubt for almost half a century. A variety of theories and hasty conclusions - ALL of them erroneous and false - have weakly sought to solve the mystery of Elvis' premature sudden death. Now - with vital new pieces of the puzzle available - it has been finally possible to assemble the true facts of this very surprising mosaic of murder and betrayal and corruption - facts discovered in FBI and government private files, hidden medical and hospital records, and interviews with Presley intimates. Thus - all of the facts and information lead directly to only one conclusion: Elvis was NOT the victim of an accident or a death from natural causes. Elvis' death was a crime! MURDER. The Superstar was the victim of an elaborate and ingenious plot motivated by FEAR, GREED, and REVENGE. EVIDENCE OF MURDER is a fascinating and thrilling journey through the solution of one of history's most carelessly handled and amazingly ignored murder cases. All of the facts in the book are suspensefully presented and very easy to follow for any reader, regardless of their scientific basis and forensic procedure. It's a fast moving book that most readers will find impossible to put down, and be compelled to read to the end in one sitting. Michael John Sullivan is the author os several award-winning, best selling books, amongst them, the Random House critically acclaimed A FATAL PASSION and the mystery to end all mysteries, THE MURDER SCORE. He lives in Southern California within view of the Pacific Ocean - his favorite realm.

Book excerpt: 'A celebration of human idiosyncrasy and of our talent for building shared meaning and solidarity out of the strangest material' – TLS Fans takes the reader on a journey through a constellation of fandoms, and along the way demonstrates some fundamental truths about the human condition. Fascinating and thought-provoking, Fans is a story of communities, of what happens to us when we interact with people who share our passions. The human brain is wired to reach out, and while our groupish tendencies can bring much strife (religious intolerance, racism, war, etc.), they are also the source of some of our greatest satisfactions. Fandoms offer much of the pleasure of tribalism with little of the harm: a feeling of belonging and of shared culture, a sense of meaning and purpose, improved mental well-being, reassurance that our most outlandish convictions will be taken seriously, and the freedom to try to emulate (and dress like) our hero. But acclaimed science writer Michael Bond shows that despite these benefits, the world of fandoms is not without its dark underside, from the “copycat effect” fuelling mass shootings to the delusions that can accompany the parasocial relationships that fans feel they have with their heroes. In Fans, Michael Bond draws on the work of social psychologists and anthropologists to understand how people behave in groups and why such groups have such a profound effect on human culture.
