Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "HANG IN THERE LIKE HAIR IN A BISCUIT¿ is the first book written by Brad Bradford. Growing up in the red clay of north Alabama during the sixties, he began getting his education in the game of life at an early age. He was able to overcome adversity and a serious eye injury and turn it into an unbelievable inspirational story. Brad actually sold chicken stew door to door out of the trunk of his 1959 Edsel to help pay for his college education. Following graduation from the University of Alabama, he began his journey through the coaching ranks. His leadership as a head football coach at age twenty-eight was phenomenal. He led his high school team to nineteen wins in two years in spite of having only twenty-one players on the team. His dream job at the University of Alabama soon followed. Coach Bradford was selected as the director of Bryant Hall Athletic Dorm and later served as the football recruiting coordinator at his alma mater. When Alabama¿s head coach took a job in the NFL, Brad was married with two boys less than three years of age and out of a job. Never one to give up on his dreams and goals, he joined the University of Louisville football staff as a graduate assistant coach MAKING TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY DOLLARS A MONTH. In less than six months, he became a full time assistant, coach for the running backs and served as the recruiting coordinator. He was named by the media as one of the ¿Best Recruiters in the Nation.¿ Once, seven of the eleven starters on the offensive team were recruited and signed by Brad Bradford. Shortly after the 1994 season, history repeated itself. The head football coach took another job and again, Brad was without a job. Instead of feeling sorry for himself, he decided to take on a new challenge and opportunity. A financial planning firm in Alabama selected him as the executive director where he grew the company from 1.5 million dollars in volume to over 70 million in less than seven years. He is now president of his own company, Bradford Consulting Group. In addition to his popularity as a professional speaker, he is an accomplished bluegrass musician. Brad currently resides in Destin, Florida.

Book excerpt: This book deals with the legal issues hairdressers face when carrying out chemical services. When I received a letter from a no win no fee solicitor itemising 10 actions carried out on their 'client' in my salon that had apparently caused damage to her hair and therefore rendered us negligent, I was mortified. I felt sick. Once I had spoken to the three stylists involved it was apparent to me that we were being wrongly accused. We agreed we wanted to fight the allegations. One of the things that helped me throughout the case was knowing about other cases and having the ability to make comparisons. I am compelled to write this book to share information, give guidance and help build confidence in dealing with matters of this nature.

Contrary to popular belief, hairdressing is a very stressful job. Hairdressers are trusted to help people with their image and help them feel better about themselves. I meet hairdressers all over the country who work really hard, yet they have lost their way creatively or are burned out and unhappy, wondering if they should do something else to make a living. They make very little money, and they move from salon to salon, hoping the next position will be better. Hairdressers do all sorts of things to control the anxiety, depression and anger in this very demanding career choice. This book focuses on what they don't teach you in beauty school. In these pages, you'll discover: --Why many stylists leave the industry, burned out and underpaid, even though they may be booked in the salon. --Why a lot of stylists are exhausted and losing sight of their hopes and dreams for their life. --What they don't teach you in beauty school. --Ways to manage stress, recognize the signs of burnout, start to dream again, and reconnect with your purpose, joyfully discover the professional that you were meant to be, and make the money you deserve.
