Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Janie [Mason] Chisolm...a descendant of a royal family who ruled Scotland between 1200 and the mid-1700s. No longer in power, the ruling family and ancestors (the Chisolm Clan) migrated to the Americas. Some of the “Clan” leaders, after settling near Charleston, South Carolina became owners of slave plantations. As the civil war ended in 1865, Janie Mason had become “friendly” with Samuel, a former slave; a relationship forbidden by cultural practices, strict laws and “outward appearance.” Janie, a descendant of wealth, royalty and influence rejected the standards designed by humans, instead chose to follow the standards designed by God; she “followed her heart.” The life of the author, like the life of his ancestors was set in motion based on standards designed by humans. Like his ancestors, he deviated from some of those practices; fixing his sights on God’s light. Unaware of his ancestral DNA, his life was guided by the light that directed his ancestors. Influenced by that light, he refused to surrender to the ways of the world. Armed with faithfulness and obedience, he was constantly reminded of the benefits of following the “greatest light,” which continues to serve as his guide.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: PARABLE OF TRANSFORMATION: Much has been written regarding Luke Chapter 15 and there's been a great debate regarding which theme(s) should be considered and which one(s) ignored; however, this book will take a different approach by viewing it as a parable of transformation. The wilderness (or desert) is the place where transformations occur. As you read through the Bible, you'll see that God had many of the heroes of the faith participate in their own wilderness adventures, for example: Moses and the Israelites, David, Elijah, John the Baptist and even Jesus. They were all transformed by their desert experiences. The desert is God's preferred learning laboratory for believers. All believers will likely spend some time in the wilderness, in God's "boot camp." Some will enroll multiple times. But, the bottom line is this: God is still in control and he has a plan to conform you to his image (Rom. 12:2) so that he can have greater fellowship with you. God is sovereign even when you're in the midst of a wilderness experience and feeling scared, confused or overwhelmed. The wilderness may seem like it's the "wrong" path, that you've gotten lost or strayed from God, but he can redeem even the most crooked path and use all of your experiences along the way for good (Rom. 8:28).In the end, the "right" path ultimately brings you closer to God whereas the wrong path ultimately takes you further away from him. You can't really tell until you get to the end of the path. People in your life may be critical of your life choices, but in reality, they may not be seeing God's hand at work in your life, invisibly, behind the scenes. Consequently, you need to be true to yourself and trust God to bring you home, and he will!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A British tank historian sheds new light on the UK’s Cold War era research and development of cutting-edge military vehicles and anti-tank weaponry. In the thirty years after the Second World War, the British army entered a period of intense technological development. Yet, due to the lack of surviving documentation, comparatively little is known about this period. What does survive, however, reveals the British Army’s struggle to use cutting edge technology to create weapons that could crush the Soviet Union's armed forces, all the while fighting against the demands of Her Majesty's Treasury. On this journey, the Army entertained ideas such as massive 183mm anti-tank guns, devastating rocket artillery, colossal anti-tank guided missiles, and micro-tanks operable by crews of only two. At one point, they were on the cusp of building hover tanks. This book explores a time period of increasing importance in military engineering history and brings much-needed light to the dark age of British tanks.

Book excerpt: This set includes all six books of the Texas Trails Series: Lone Star Trail, Captive Trail, Long Trail Home, A Ranger's Trail, Cowgirl Trail, and End of the Trail. The six-book series is about four generations of the Morgan family living, fighting, and thriving amidst a turbulent Texas history spanning from 1845 to 1896. In Lone Star Trail, as much as Judson "Jud" Morgan dislikes the immigrant invasion, he can't help admiring Wande Fleischer. The immigrant is sweet and cheerful as she serves the Lord and all those around her. Can the rancher put aside his prejudice to forge a new future? Through Jud and Wande, we learn the powerful lessons of forgiveness and reconciliation among a diverse community of believers. In Captive Trail, Butterfield Overland Mail Company driver Ned Bright finds a woman, exhausted and injured, lying on the road. With hard work, Ned discovers Taabe Waipu's identity. He plans to unite her with her family, but the Commanche have other ideas. In Long Trail Home, Riley Morgan takes a job at the Wilcox School for Blind Children in an attempt for a new life after the Civil War. By helping the children and the pretty blind woman, Annie, he begins to find renewed hope. But when the school is in jeopardy of being closed and Annie's secret is revealed, Riley attempts to make peace with God despite an uncertain future. In A Ranger's Trail, Texas Ranger Buck Morgan is called to investigate the murder of Leta Denning's husband at the beginning of the Mason County War. He has ties to a German family involved with Dennning's death, which makes Leta question his impartiality. A tentative trail emerges...one forged by respect and bound by vengeance and forgiveness. In Cowgirl Trail, Maggie Porter is desperate to save her ranch as her father's health fails and the cowboys walk off the job. To everyone's surprise, she turns to the town's women for help. The cowgirls must herd, rope, and drive the cattle to the market. With only two days left, outlaws charge the small band in an effort to start a stampede. Will they lose everything? Where will their help come from? In End of the Trail, a high stakes poker game ends with Brooks Morgan holding the deed to his new friend Will's ranch, a vague promise to "take care of Keri," and Will's mysterious demise. When Brooks finally rides to the Raven Creek Ranch, he is greeted by a rifle pointed right at his chest. This is the "Keri" he promised to take care of. As Will's niece, Keri believes the ranch was promised to her. Keri and Brooks both want to save the ranch, but will their differences make that impoosible?
