Aussi le but de notre travail a-t-il été de mieux comprendre les relations entre ces différents processus cognitifs et donc de répondre aux question suivantes: Les performances de lecture sont-elles corrélées aux performances attentionnelles évaluées dans trois types d'attention: l'attention soutenue, l'attention sélective et l'attention partagée? Ces corrélations évoluent-elles avec le niveau d'expertise de la lecture? Pour ce faire, nous avons évalué les compétences de lecture de 29 enfants de CE1 et 29 enfants de CM2 à l'aide du test Grégoire et le ballon rouge. Nous avons alors corrélé les mesures de temps de lecture, de qualité, de compréhension et de mélodie avec les scores obtenus dans différents tests attentionnels. ' Les résultats ont montré que les trois processus attentionnels sont impliqués spécifiquement dans les différentes compétences de lecture et que le niveau d'expertise influence les corrélations mises en avant. Dans un contexte d'apprentissage et de rééducation, notre étude permettrait de mieux prendre en compte chaque processus attentionnel afin d'améliorer les compétences particulières de la lecture et donc sa qualité générale.

Des modèles plus récents viennent l’enrichir tels que celui de Ans, Carbonnel et Valdois (1998) qui prend en compte la dimension visuo-attentionnelle de la lecture. D'après ce modèle, un lecteur expérimenté focalise son attention sur la globalité du mot et recherche une trace dans son lexique orthographique. Si le mot est connu, il est identifié puis prononcé à l’oral. Sinon le lecteur réduit sa fenêtre visuo-attentionnelle sur des unités lexicales plus petites jusqu’à les reconnaître, puis les assemble et les produit. Pour Bedoin, l’inhibition d’un niveau (global/local) et le passage de l’un à l’autre est la cause des troubles observés. Dans cette étude, nous mettons en place un protocole expérimental pour évaluer les liens entre l’apprentissage du langage écrit, les habiletés visuoattentionnelles et les performances des fonctions exécutives. Notre hypothèse est que ces trois pôles seraient liés et que la faible performance en langage écrit des enfants présentant un trouble spécifique du langage écrit serait due à de faibles capacités exécutives, attentionnelles et visuo-attentionnelles. Nous avons donc proposé des épreuves évaluant ces trois pôles à deux groupes d’enfants : un groupe témoin composé de 48 enfants et un groupe composé de 16 enfants présentant un trouble spécifique du langage écrit. Les résultats montrent des différences significatives entre les deux groupes et des liens entre les pôles, ce qui confirme notre hypothèse.

Book excerpt: Enactive trauma therapy is grounded in so-called enactivism, which holds that, like anyone else, traumatized individuals are (1) embrained, embodied, and environmentally embedded; (2) constitute biopsychological organism-environment systems that are essentially interested in preserving their existence; (3) are primarily affective and oriented toward making sense of things. Individuals exhibit a phenomenal self, world, and self-of-the-world through self- and world-oriented actions. They do not act on the basis of knowledge, but possess knowledge on the basis of world-engaged sensorimotor, affect-laden, and goal-oriented actions. Whenever interpersonal traumatization by significant others occurs, individuals may get caught up in affective and relational conflicts they cannot resolve on their own. Their generation and maintenance of a trauma-related dissociation of the personality involves a kind of sense-making that supports their continued existence when their capacity to integrate traumatic experiences is still too low. However, what starts as a courageous effort to navigate a traumatizing life may at some point in time become a serious problem. Enactive trauma therapy comprises the collaboration of two organism-environment systems: the patient and the therapist. Together they spawn new meaning and adequate actions – an interaction that resembles dancing: It takes pacing, mutual attunement, good timing, a sensitivity to balance, movement and rhythm, courage, as well as the ability and willingness to follow and lead.
