This book was released on 1974-08-08 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An international conference on complex analysis was held in Canterbury in July 1973. Some of the world's most prominent complex analysts attended and some outstanding open problems had their first solutions announced there. These are reflected in this set of Proceedings. Almost all of the contributions are abstracts of talks given at the symposium. The final part of this volume is a section on research problems contributed by members of the conference and a report on a previous collection of problems edited by Professor W. K. Hayman after an earlier conference in 1964. This book is essential reading for research workers and graduate students interested in complex analysis.

Book Synopsis The Madison Symposium on Complex Analysis by : Edgar Lee Stout
Download or read book The Madison Symposium on Complex Analysis written by Edgar Lee Stout and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 1992 with total page 490 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the proceedings of a Symposium on Complex Analysis, held at the University of Wisconsin at Madison in June 1991 on the occasion of the retirement of Walter Rudin. During the week of the conference, a group of about two hundred mathematicians from many nations gathered to discuss recent developments in complex analysis and to celebrate Rudin's long and productive career. Among the main subjects covered are applications of complex analysis to operator theory, polynomial convexity, holomorphic mappings, boundary behaviour of holomorphic functions, function theory on the unit disk and ball, and some aspects of the theory of partial differential equations related to complex analysis. Containing papers by some of the world's leading experts in these subjects, this book reports on current directions in complex analysis and presents an excellent mixture of the analytic and geometric aspects of the theory.

Book Synopsis Complex Analysis and Dynamical Systems II by : Lawrence Allen Zalcman
Download or read book Complex Analysis and Dynamical Systems II written by Lawrence Allen Zalcman and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2005 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is a collection of papers reflecting the conference held in Nahariya, Israel in honor of Professor Lawrence Zalcman's sixtieth birthday. The papers, many written by leading authorities, range widely over classical complex analysis of one and several variables, differential equations, and integral geometry. Topics covered include, but are not limited to, these areas within the theory of functions of one complex variable: complex dynamics, elliptic functions, Kleinian groups, quasiconformal mappings, Tauberian theorems, univalent functions, and value distribution theory. Altogether, the papers in this volume provide a comprehensive overview of activity in complex analysis at the beginning of the twenty-first century and testify to the continuing vitality of the interplay between classical and modern analysis. It is suitable for graduate students and researchers interested in computer analysis and differential geometry. Information for our distributors: This book is co-published with Bar-Ilan University.

Book excerpt: Complex Analysis: Conformal Inequalities and the Bieberbach Conjecture discusses the mathematical analysis created around the Bieberbach conjecture, which is responsible for the development of many beautiful aspects of complex analysis, especially in the geometric-function theory of univalent functions. Book Synopsis Complex Analysis and Algebraic Geometry by : Kunihiko Kodaira
Download or read book Complex Analysis and Algebraic Geometry written by Kunihiko Kodaira and published by CUP Archive. This book was released on 1977 with total page 424 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The articles in this volume cover some developments in complex analysis and algebraic geometry. The book is divided into three parts. Part I includes topics in the theory of algebraic surfaces and analytic surface. Part II covers topics in moduli and classification problems, as well as structure theory of certain complex manifolds. Part III is devoted to various topics in algebraic geometry analysis and arithmetic. A survey article by Ueno serves as an introduction to the general background of the subject matter of the volume. The volume was written for Kunihiko Kodaira on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday, by his friends and students. Professor Kodaira was one of the world's leading mathematicians in algebraic geometry and complex manifold theory: and the contributions reflect those concerns.

Book Synopsis Symmetrization in Analysis by : Albert Baernstein II
Download or read book Symmetrization in Analysis written by Albert Baernstein II and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2019-03-14 with total page 493 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Symmetrization is a rich area of mathematical analysis whose history reaches back to antiquity. This book presents many aspects of the theory, including symmetric decreasing rearrangement and circular and Steiner symmetrization in Euclidean spaces, spheres and hyperbolic spaces. Many energies, frequencies, capacities, eigenvalues, perimeters and function norms are shown to either decrease or increase under symmetrization. The book begins by focusing on Euclidean space, building up from two-point polarization with respect to hyperplanes. Background material in geometric measure theory and analysis is carefully developed, yielding self-contained proofs of all the major theorems. This leads to the analysis of functions defined on spheres and hyperbolic spaces, and then to convolutions, multiple integrals and hypercontractivity of the Poisson semigroup. The author's 'star function' method, which preserves subharmonicity, is developed with applications to semilinear PDEs. The book concludes with a thorough self-contained account of the star function's role in complex analysis, covering value distribution theory, conformal mapping and the hyperbolic metric.

Book Synopsis Handbook of Complex Analysis by : Steven G. Krantz
Download or read book Handbook of Complex Analysis written by Steven G. Krantz and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2022-03-07 with total page 519 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In spite of being nearly 500 years old, the subject of complex analysis is still today a vital and active part of mathematics. There are important applications in physics, engineering, and other aspects of technology. This Handbook presents contributed chapters by prominent mathematicians, including the new generation of researchers. More than a compilation of recent results, this book offers students an essential stepping-stone to gain an entry into the research life of complex analysis. Classes and seminars play a role in this process. More, though, is needed for further study. This Handbook will play that role. This book is also a reference and a source of inspiration for more seasoned mathematicians—both specialists in complex analysis and others who want to acquaint themselves with current modes of thought. The chapters in this volume are authored by leading experts and gifted expositors. They are carefully crafted presentations of diverse aspects of the field, formulated for a broad and diverse audience. This volume is a touchstone for current ideas in the broadly construed subject area of complex analysis. It should enrich the literature and point in some new directions.
