Download or read book Semantics, Applications, and Implementation of Program Generation written by Walid Taha and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-06-30 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume constitutes the proceedings of the second International Workshop on the Semantics, Applications, and Implementation of Program Generation (SAIG 2001)held on 6 September, 2001, in Florence, Italy. SAIG 2001 was held as an ACM SIGPLAN workshop co-located with the International Conference on Principles, Logics, and Implementations of High-level Programming Languages (PLI). As the commercial production of software systems moves toward being a traditional industry, automation will necessarily play a more substantial role in this industry, just as it plays a key role in the production of traditional commodities. SAIG aims at promoting the development and the application of foundational techniques for supporting automatic program generation. A key goal of SAIG is to provide a unique forum for both theoreticians and practitioners to present their results and ideas to an audience from a diverse background. This year we are fortunate to have three in?uential invited speakers: Krzysztof Czarnecki (DaimlerChrysler), Tim Sheard (OGI School of Science and Engineering), and Mitchell Wand (Northeastern University). The proceedings include abstracts of the invited talks, and an invited paper by Tim Sheard. Seven technical papers and two position papers were presented at SAIG 2001.

Book Synopsis Processes, Terms and Cycles: Steps on the Road to Infinity by : Aart Middeldorp
Download or read book Processes, Terms and Cycles: Steps on the Road to Infinity written by Aart Middeldorp and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2005-12-13 with total page 655 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Festschrift is dedicated to Jan Willem Klop on the occasion of his 60th birthday. The volume comprises a total of 23 scientific papers by close friends and colleagues, written specifically for this book. The papers are different in nature: some report on new research, others have the character of a survey, and again others are mainly expository. Every contribution has been thoroughly refereed at least twice. In many cases the first round of referee reports led to significant revision of the original paper, which was again reviewed. The articles especially focus upon the lambda calculus, term rewriting and process algebra, the fields to which Jan Willem Klop has made fundamental contributions.

Book Synopsis Leveraging Applications of Formal Methods, Verification, and Validation by : Tiziana Margaria
Download or read book Leveraging Applications of Formal Methods, Verification, and Validation written by Tiziana Margaria and published by Springer. This book was released on 2010-11-02 with total page 517 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the conference proceedings of the 4th International S- posium on Leveraging Applications of Formal Methods, Veri?cation and Vali- tion, ISoLA 2010, which was held in Greece (Heraklion, Crete) October 18–21, 2010, and sponsored by EASST. Following the tradition of its forerunners in 2004, 2006, and 2008 in Cyprus and Chalchidiki, and the ISoLA Workshops in Greenbelt (USA) in 2005, in Poitiers (France) in 2007, and in Potsdam (Germany) in 2009, ISoLA 2010 p- vided a forum for developers, users, and researchers to discuss issues related to the adoption and use of rigorous tools and methods for the speci?cation, ana- sis, veri?cation, certi?cation, construction, testing, and maintenance of systems from the point of view of their di?erent application domains. Thus, the ISoLA series of events serves the purpose of bridging the gap between designers and developers of rigorous tools, and users in engineering and in other disciplines, and to foster and exploit synergetic relationships among scientists, engineers, software developers, decision makers, and other critical thinkers in companies and organizations. In particular, by providing a venue for the discussion of c- mon problems, requirements, algorithms, methodologies, and practices, ISoLA aims at supporting researchers in their quest to improve the utility, reliability, ?exibility, and e?ciency of tools for building systems, and users in their search for adequate solutions to their problems.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume comprises the papers presented at the Third International Andrei Ershov Memorial Conference \Perspectives of System Informatics", Akadem- rodok (Novosibirsk, Russia), July 6{9, 1999. The main goal of the conference was to give an overview of research directions which are decisive for the growth of major areas of research activities in system informatics. The conference was the third one in the line. The r st and second inter- tionalconferences\PerspectivesofSystemInformatics"wereheldinNovosibirsk, Akademgorodok, in May, 1991, and June, 1996, respectively. Both conferences gathered a wide spectrum of specialists and were undoubtedly very successful. The third conferenceincluded many of the subjects of the second conference, such as theoretical computer science, programming methodology, new infor- tiontechnologies, andthepromising eldofarti cialintelligence|asimportant components of system informatics. The style of the second conference was p- served to a certain extent in that there were a considerable number of invited papers in addition to the contributed papers. However, posters were replaced by short talks mainly given by young researchers.
