The attendance of delegates was not large, but the session was interesting throughout. The ac companying volume contains the Papers which were accepted, and the Minutes and Discussions in full; but we regret the absence of the admirable Conference Sermon, by Rev. Dr. Stebbins, which could not be furnished for printing. Among the contents, attention may be specially called to the Reports, Papers, and discussions on the Organization of Charities in Cities, State Boards of Charity, an Ideal Prison System, Free Kindergartens, the Care of Dependent Children, Treatment of the Insane and Feeble - minded, and kindred subjects of great importance. The Reports from States are very full, and give more information about the charities of the whole country than can be found anywhere else. Copies of these Reports, in a separate pamphlet of 60 pages, can be had of the editor for 15 cents each; and copies of the Report on State Boards may also be had at 5 cents each. The whole volume may be obtained of the editor, Mrs. Isabel C. Barrows, 141 Franklin Street, Boston. Price in cloth, with discounts as follows: ten copies and less than fifty, ten per cent.; fifty copies and less than two hundred, twenty-five per cent.; two hundred Copies or over, forty-five per cent. The Proceedings of former years may also be obtained by applica tion to Mrs. Barrows, except for the years 1875, 1876, 1877, 1878, 1880. And 1886, which are out of print.
