Ces changements sont motivés par des besoins de mise en synergie des compétences internes et externes, afin de répondre aux contraintes d'un environnement turbulent ou pour capitaliser sur les forces vivent de l'organisation. Ces ruptures organisationnelles peuvent cependant avoir des conséquences notables en terme de performances: il faut en effet s'assurer que les changements réguliers de structures n'entrainent pas d'instabilité, de perte de savoirs de mauvaise intégration de nouveaux arrivants, d'incompréhension entre des entités hétérogènes qui vont devoir collaborer, de problèmes d'adaptation des ressources à ces nouvelles structures, etc. Il faut donc de nouvelles solutions pour créer et maintenir une excellence opérationelle (ressouces localement performantes dans les activités) et une cohésion organisationnelle (coordination et collaboration des entités pour une performance globale de l'organisation), et cela quels que soient les changements, voulus ou subis, de l'organisation. En se basant sur l'approche basées sur les compétences, sur la théorie de l'apprentissage organisationnel, et sur les mécanisme de transfert de bonnes pratiques, les travaux de recherche visent à fournir un cadre de pilotage des capacités organisationnelles, c'est-à-dire un cadre pour développer et maîtriser des compétence collectives partagées, autour d'enjeux organisationnels clés, à partir de référenciels de connaissances structurés. La thèse propose ainse une méthodologie, la modélisation d'un système information, des méthodes et des outils pour: -concevoir et structurer des référenciels de bonnes pratiques à partir des enjeux organisationnels; -déployer et gérer ces référenciels sur le terrain, afin de fransférer les bonnes pratiques et créer de nouvelles capacités organisationnelles; -mesurer l'acquisition des capacités organisationnelles par les différentes ressources de l'organisation; -identifier les écarts qui peuvent exister entre enjeux orgnisationnels et les capacités requises (modélisation des référenciels), entre capacités requises et capacités acquises (appropriation par les ressources), ou entre capacités requises et résultats obtenus (utilisation de la capacité dans les activités de l'entreprise); -corriger ces écarts en formant des communautés de pratiques autour des référentiels, en fonction de la similitude de contexte des entités et des écarts constatés

Cuban agriculture was reconstructed to be small scale, low input, and biologically based. The results of this experiment demonstrates to other countries that export-based chemically intensive industrial agriculture is not the only way to feed a country.
