C'est pour matérialiser cette fascination que ce théâtre a donné lieu à des interprétations de tout genre : philosophique, humaniste, politique et morale... Il s'agit de lectures idéologiques dont la tragédie en général et Sophocle en particulier a fait l'objet. Dans cette perspective, il importait d'effectuer un panorama des lectures de cette tragédie devenue un mythe contemporain. L'oeuvre de Sophocle a servi d'illustration à la visée idéologique d'un théâtre qui s'intégrait à l'origine dans le cadre des manifestations culturelles en l'honneur de Dionysos à Athènes. Y avait-il lieu d'universaliser et d'immortaliser ces interprétations, fruits de l'imaginaire occidental ? Fallait-il continuer la réincarnation des personnages de Sophocle qui aurait avec son Antigone et son OEdipe-roi réussi à élaborer des modèles inimitables de la tragédie et de l'existence de l'homme ? C'est pour questionner cette vision de Sophocle qu'il semble nécessaire d'exploiter les éléments esthétiques (chant, musique) de cette tragédie qui offrent de nouvelles pistes de réflexion en porte-à-faux avec la lecture idéologique observée dans la critique contemporaine.

Régy (2001), Coda du Théâtre du Radeau (2004) et la Tragedia Endogonidia de R. Castellucci (2002-04) et de la difficulté à en rendre compte par les outils classiques de l’analyse théâtrale : ils se caractérisent en effet par une ambiguïté des signes rendant leur lecture incertaine, par l’importance des enjeux formels, par l’utilisation de fictions ou récits lacunaires ou discontinus, par l’apparition de personnages mélancoliques ou parodiques. On propose de voir dans ces trois exemples les représentants d’un type de théâtre marqué par une forte disjonction entre le parler et le voir et par une prévalence de l’événement sur l’expérience et sur le regard critique ou dramatique. En constituant un événement qui suspend les évidences, chacun de ces spectacles explore les possibilités du théâtre à renouveler les écarts symboliques nécessaires à la subjectivisation comme à la constitution d’un collectif. On retrouve là la fonction du mythe décrit par l’anthropologie comme ce qui légitime les différenciations abstraites et arbitraires des sociétés avec la nature et l’irrationnel. L’étude peut être lue dans un double sens : soit comme l’analyse de créations théâtrales singulières dont l’effet est de réinterroger les fondations elles-mêmes mythiques de la parole et des signes (et les moyens de les décrire), soit comme une approche de la conception contemporaine du mythe et ses implications dans l’analyse anthropologique d’une représentation théâtrale.

Book excerpt: Defending ethics in sport is vital in order to combat the problems of corruption, violence, drugs, extremism and other forms of discrimination it is currently facing. Sport reflects nothing more and nothing less than the societies in which it takes place. However, if sport is to continue to bring benefits for individuals and societies, it cannot afford to neglect its ethical values or ignore these scourges. The major role of the Council of Europe and the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) in addressing the new challenges to sports ethics was confirmed by the 11th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Sport, held in Athens on 11 and 12 December 2008. A political impetus was given on 16 June 2010 by the Committee of Ministers, with the adoption of an updated version of the Code of Sports Ethics (Recommendation CM/Rec(2010)9), emphasising the requisite co-ordination between governments and sports organisations. The EPAS prepared the ministerial conference and stepped up its work in an international conference organised with the University of Rennes, which was attended by political leaders, athletes, researchers and officials from the voluntary sector. The key experiences described in the conference and the thoughts that it prompted are described in this publication. All the writers share the concern that the end result should be practical action - particularly in terms of the setting of standards - that falls within the remit of the EPAS and promotes the Council of Europe's core values.
