Book excerpt: The thread throughout this inspiring poetry collection is that, no matter what the problem or situation is, nothing is too big or too small for God to handle. Poems of Inspiration and Prophecy is a moving collection of poems composed of uplifting spiritual messages from the Lord. Carla Edwards pieced together this unique work under the direction of God; He provided her with the ideas for the titles and topics of the poems, and then the words came freely to her. The messages are clear and concise, having the power to inspire anyone who reads them or hears them read aloud. From Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places to Everybody in Such a Rush-Do You Know Where You Are Going To?, Edwards considers everyday life and how we find comfort in Gods love and understanding. Poems of Inspiration and Prophecy provides a blessed reassurance that we dont have to go through this life alone. Poems of Inspiration and Prophecy serves as a prophetic clarion call to men and women to live up to their potential. Evangelist Lisa Paul I do truly believe that she has been bountifully blessed with these writings, which The Lord and Savior has given unto her. Founding Pastor Catherine Jackson

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We all face some major and some minor challenges that may move us to seek Gods voice in it all. These challenges perhaps make us question our faith or become tempted to stop trying, stop following, or stop turning to or loving the Word of God, Jesus Christ. But once we earnestly seek, we do receive and come out better on the other side just because weve taken that step of faith, even though it may start out to be as small as a mustard seed. Furthermore, being unprepared for an oncoming difficulty can throw us off track and leave us shaken due to grief, discouragement, or temptation in the end. Resources such as the Bible and positive literature are a blessing, and when taken advantage of, they offer treasures and just what we need to get through this life and on to the next as conquerors, strong, bold, and fully equipped in the Lord. Moreover, getting along well with others and being good and faithful servants is something we can do to greatly improve our spiritual lives. So when there is no one else qualified to turn to without making matters worse or when no one else seems to say the right words, it is wise to tap into the various resources that can actually help without causing major setbacks. This book of simple, unsophisticated, easy to read poetry is one of those resources.

Book excerpt: A remarkable Pocket Poets anthology of poems from around the world and across the centuries about illness and healing, both physical and spiritual. From ancient Greece and Rome up to the present moment, poets have responded with sensitivity and insight to the troubles of the human body and mind. Poems of Healing gathers a treasury of such poems, tracing the many possible journeys of physical and spiritual illness, injury, and recovery, from John Donne’s “Hymne to God My God, In My Sicknesse” and Emily Dickinson’s “The Soul has Bandaged moments” to Eavan Boland’s “Anorexic,” from W.H. Auden’s “Miss Gee” to Lucille Clifton’s “Cancer,” and from D.H. Lawrence’s “The Ship of Death” to Rafael Campo’s “Antidote” and Seamus Heaney’s “Miracle.” Here are poems from around the world, by Sappho, Milton, Baudelaire, Longfellow, Cavafy, and Omar Khayyam; by Stevens, Lowell, and Plath; by Zbigniew Herbert, Louise Bogan, Yehuda Amichai, Mark Strand, and Natalia Toledo. Messages of hope in the midst of pain—in such moving poems as Adam Zagajewski’s “Try to Praise the Mutilated World,” George Herbert’s “The Flower,” Wisława Szymborska’s “The End and the Beginning,” Gwendolyn Brooks’ “when you have forgotten Sunday: the love story” and Stevie Smith’s “Away, Melancholy”—make this the perfect gift to accompany anyone on a journey of healing. Everyman's Library pursues the highest production standards, printing on acid-free cream-colored paper, with full-cloth cases with two-color foil stamping, decorative endpapers, silk ribbon markers, European-style half-round spines, and a full-color illustrated jacket.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I hope and pray that these poems will inspire, encourage, motivate, comfort and draw you closer to our Lord and Savior "Jesus Christ". Who has been, and continues to be my constant source of strength, spiritual inspiration and comfort everyday! I began writing this book in 2003, I had just surrendered my life to God, after undergoing back surgery in 12/2002 that was a pivotal point in my life. Before my surgery I had promised God that if he brought me through the surgery successfully I would come back to church. After my baptism in the spring of 2003, I began writing out of gratitude and thankfulness for what God had done in my life. A good portion of this book was inspired by the experiences that I've had, as God protected, led and inspired me every step of the way back to the foot of the cross. George L. Lashley, was born in Pembroke, Bermuda. His ability to write was discovered when he was asked to write an essay for a 3rd grade class home work assignment. When the essay was ready by the teacher, she immediately took it to the Principal who insisted that he read it in front of the entire school assembly. That experience was somewhat embarrassing to him not being used to so much attention. He continued to write but in a more subdued and secretive fashion. It was only after he began writing poetry of a spiritually uplifting nature, and began reading them during church services and other suitable occasion, did he, through the encouragement of others decide to attempt to publish any of his work.
