Book Synopsis Physique des semi-conducteurs - 4e édition by : Christian Ngô
Download or read book Physique des semi-conducteurs - 4e édition written by Christian Ngô and published by Dunod. This book was released on 2012-05-30 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Silicon, From Sand to Chips, Volume 1 by : Alain Vignes
Download or read book Silicon, From Sand to Chips, Volume 1 written by Alain Vignes and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2024-06-04 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Silicon is the material of the digital revolution, of solar energy and of digital photography, which has revolutionized both astronomy and medical imaging. It is also the material of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), indispensable components of smart objects. The discovery of the electronic and optoelectronic properties of germanium and silicon during the Second World War, followed by the invention of the transistor, ushered in the digital age. Although the first transistors were made from germanium, silicon eventually became the preferred material for these technologies. Silicon, From Sand to Chips 1 traces the history of the discoveries, inventions and developments in basic components and chips that these two materials enabled one after the other. The book is divided into two volumes and this first volume is devoted to basic microelectronic components.

Book Synopsis Micromachined Thin-Film Sensors for SOI-CMOS Co-Integration by : Jean Laconte
Download or read book Micromachined Thin-Film Sensors for SOI-CMOS Co-Integration written by Jean Laconte and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-10-11 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Co-integration of sensors with their associated electronics on a single silicon chip may provide many significant benefits regarding performance, reliability, miniaturization and process simplicity without significantly increasing the total cost. Micromachined Thin-Film Sensors for SOI-CMOS Co-integration covers the challenges and interests and demonstrates the successful co-integration of gas-flow sensors on dielectric membrane, with their associated electronics, in CMOS-SOI technology. We firstly investigate the extraction of residual stress in thin layers and in their stacking and the release, in post-processing, of a 1 μm-thick robust and flat dielectric multilayered membrane using Tetramethyl Ammonium Hydroxide (TMAH) silicon micromachining solution. The optimization of its selectivity towards aluminum is largely demonstrated. The second part focuses on sensors design and characteristics. A novel loop-shape polysilicon microheater is designed and built in a CMOS-SOI standard process. High thermal uniformity, low power consumption and high working temperature are confirmed by extensive measurements. The additional gas flow sensing layers are judiciously chosen and implemented. Measurements in the presence of a nitrogen flow and gas reveal fair sensitivity on a large flow velocity range as well as good response to many gases. Finally, MOS transistors suspended on released dielectric membranes are presented and fully characterized as a concluding demonstrator of the co-integration in SOI technology.

This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 1126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper is written in the belief that people are important and that equipment is to serve the needs of the people and therefore should be designed to meet their specific needs and environment. This is particularly important in the case of a developing country when a professional engineer accepts the responsibility to formulate policies evaluate equipment imple ment projects and train national people. 1. Government, geography and climate Papua New Guinea, an independent and self governing state since 1975, is located directly North of Australia above the North Eastern State of Queensland. The country extends from 141° east longitude, at the border with Indonesia (Irian Jaya) to 160° east longitude and between latitudes 1° and 12° south (see figure 1). Papua New Guinea is a parliamentary democracy, with a single legis lature known as the National Parliament (1). The State is divided into 19 provinces plus the National Capital District (Port Moresby) with de centralized Government established in each province. Before independence the country comprised the Australian territory of Papua in the southern regions and the United Nations Trust Territory of New Guinea in the North (1). Land area is 462,840 square kilometres This inclUdes the mainland, the three large islands of New Britain, ~ew Ireland and fiougainville plus 600 small islands and archipelagos. Approximate direct distances from the capital city of Port Moresby to some of the other centres are : Vanimo 990 km, Rabaul SOO km, Arawa 990 km and Lorengau S25 km.

Book Synopsis Simple Views on Condensed Matter by : Pierre-Gilles de Gennes
Download or read book Simple Views on Condensed Matter written by Pierre-Gilles de Gennes and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1998 with total page 508 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains a selection of important papers by P-G de Gennes (1991 Nobel Prize Winner in Physics) which have had a long-lasting impact on our understanding of condensed matter (solid state physics, liquid crystals, polymers, interfaces, wetting and adhesion). A typical example is the original article on "reptation" of polymer chains. The author has added some "afterthoughts" to the main papers (explaining their successes or weaknesses), and the current views on each special problem. Complex systems (polymers or granular matters, etc) are explained without heavy calculations -- using simple scaling laws as the main tool.
