This book was released on 2017-12-27 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, I use the backdrop of the poem by Maya Angelou, "Phenomenal Woman" to explore topics that every woman can see themselves either struggling or thriving with. I, along with some other sisters, will attempt to encourage you with each line. I will attempt to do what the Phenom camps do and take an "already great woman" and make her feel greater. I will attempt to encourage that part of you that is not so sure about your natural tendencies and help you see you're on the right path. I will use my own pitfalls and detours to help you break some poor habits. I will challenge you in some areas of weakness. I will help you form some "Mind Muscle" memory around the truth that you are a woman - phenomenally - Phenomenal Woman - GURL That's U! I believe everything we need is available in a little encouragement. I want reading this to boost your self-esteem. The knowledge of who you are in Christ and the ability to walk in all that entails is my goal for every one of us. Each of the four stanzas hit various areas of strength we possess as women. Some of them teach us something about ourselves we want to improve; some of them highlight an area where we can celebrate success. As you read the book, I suggest you break it up in order to have time to fully receive the encouragement you deserve; time to embrace the empowerment you need and time to reflect on your own places of phenomenal. There are several places for you to make notes for your Phenomenal Self! As women, I believe the sooner we understand the inside...the wonderfully and fearfully...the better. Anything great about you, anything great about me, was pre-planned by God. Before anyone knew who Dagne was; before anyone knew who you were - God had already laid out a plan and purpose for your life. He put the wonderfully and fearfully on the inside from day one. The moment that his impartation of the shine and your acceptance and embrace of the shine met is the moment when "phenomenal" took place. My goal in this book is to help you get to your phenomenal, but it starts with embracing your shine. No two are alike. Your SHINE is the -SPECIAL -HAPPENING -INSIDE -NOBODY -ELSE! The moment we embrace IT, accept IT, and stop coveting the IT in some other woman, that's the day phenomenal takes place. Once that happens; once you get it; pay it forward and honor it in another sister! Speaking of other sisters.... I asked several other Phenomenal Women to give me their take on this great poem to encourage others. Many of them told me reflecting on a line or two in the poem was therapeutic for them. I thank God for them since it's no way I could effectively encourage ALL women with this concept without reaching beyond my own narrow thoughts. Thank you to my sisters (check out their BIOs in the appendix) for reaching inside your SHINE, connecting with my SHINE, and together illuminating some much needed light in some areas of darkness. I and these powerful ladies are coming from our own stories and experiences as examples as they reveal themselves through the words of the poem. The let the truth of our lives and the truth of God's word reveal some things to you as you take this journey! It is my prayer you find many truths to combat any lie that may be tearing you down right now! Find your shine while reading this book! Don't linger in those areas of discouragement. You have too much Special Happening Inside Nobody Else! Phenomenal Woman, Gurl That's U!

Book excerpt: Intentioning by best-selling author Gloria Feldt will help you envision the life and career you might have thought were impossible dreams, then give you the courage and actionable tools to achieve them. In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and a pandemic of racial injustice that together shook our world to its core and revealed deep fault lines in our culture, Gloria Feldt, New York Times best-selling author, speaker, commentator, international leadership expert, successful CEO, and feminist icon, shows how we can seize the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity created by massive disruption to build back stronger with diverse women at the center of the recovery. In Intentioning: Sex, Power, Pandemics, and How Women Will Take The Lead for (Everyone’s) Good, Feldt inspires diverse women to embrace their personal power to lead with intention, confidence, and joy. It comes as no surprise to her that women flexed their formidable muscles when needed most, representing a disproportionate number of essential workers during the darkest days of the coronavirus global outbreak and leading the charge against racism in the United States. But this book is decidedly about the future, taking the leadership lessons learned from this disruption and creating a better world for all. Feldt not only unveils the next step in advancing gender parity in all spheres of business and life, but she also lays out the vital next steps in the overall advancement of our economy and our civilization. The “Lead Like a Woman” framework and the “9 Leadership Intentioning Tools” she presents in this book will prepare, motivate, and propel women of all diversities and intersectionalities now so that by 2025, women will have attained their fair and equal share of leadership positions across all sectors of industry and society. We simply cannot squander women’s talents when so much hangs in the balance. Women must be at the vanguard of reimagining and reconstructing a vibrant and sustainable future for us all.

It embodies the strength of character of the inspiring women profiled. Each chapter will outline the fall and rise of great women heroes who smashed all obstacles, rather than let all obstacles smash them. The book offers hope to those undergoing their own Sisyphean struggles. Book excerpt: An invaluable guidebook, which contends that the most vexing problems facing women today isn't that doors of opportunity aren't open but that not enough women are walking through them Feminist icon Gloria Feldt pulls no punches in this new book, which argues that the most confounding problem facing women today isn't that doors of opportunity aren't open, but that not enough women are walking through them. From the boardroom to the bedroom, public office to personal relationships, she asserts that nobody is keeping women from parity-except themselves. Feldt puts women's power into an historical context, showing the ways in which women have made huge leaps forward in the past, only to pull back right when they were at the threshold. Feldt argues that there's no excuse-whether it's the way women are socialized, or pressure to conform, or work/life balance issues-for women today not to own their power. Women are still facing unequal pay, being passed over for promotions, entering public office at a much lesser rate than men, and oftentimes still struggling with traditional power dynamics in their interpersonal relationships. Feldt's solution to all these places where women face inequality is the same: we need to shift the way we think to achieve true parity with our male counterparts. No Excuses is divided into nine chapters that organized around how women can change the way they think, and therefore the way they act. These include: Know Your History and You Can Create the Future of Your Choice; Define the Terms-First; Embrace Controversy; Employ Every Medium; and other helpful ideas for using the tools and resources women already have to create the changes they want to see. No Excuses is a timely and invaluable book to help women equalize gender power in politics, work, and love.

Book excerpt: Maya Angelou’s unforgettable collection of poetry lends its name to the documentary film about her life, And Still I Rise, as seen on PBS’s American Masters. Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size But when I start to tell them, They think I’m telling lies. I say, It’s in the reach of my arms, The span of my hips, The stride of my step, The curl of my lips. I’m a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me. Thus begins “Phenomenal Woman,” just one of the beloved poems collected here in Maya Angelou’s third book of verse. These poems are powerful, distinctive, and fresh—and, as always, full of the lifting rhythms of love and remembering. And Still I Rise is written from the heart, a celebration of life as only Maya Angelou has discovered it. “It is true poetry she is writing,” M.F.K. Fisher has observed, “not just rhythm, the beat, rhymes. I find it very moving and at times beautiful. It has an innate purity about it, unquenchable dignity. . . . It is astounding, flabbergasting, to recognize it, in all the words I read every day and night . . . it gives me heart, to hear so clearly the caged bird singing and to understand her notes.”
