Book Synopsis The Charismatic Leader by : Sikandar Hayat
Download or read book The Charismatic Leader written by Sikandar Hayat and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 2008 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a detailed and systematic analysis of the charismatic leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the leader of Indian Muslims during the crisis-ridden decade of 1937-47. Based on the concept of charisma formulated by Max Weber and developed by recent writers, the study concentrates on the 'personality-related' and 'situational' factors that led to the emergence of Jinnah as the charismatic leader of the Muslims and sustained him in that role until the creation of Pakistan. In explaining and explicating Jinnah's charisma, his early political career and the crises facing the Muslims of British India, both systemic and of leadership, have been examined at length. This has been followed by a critical appraisal of Jinnah's formula of Pakistan, his strategy for political mobilization of the Muslims under the banner of the All-India Muslim League, and his extraordinary skills and abilities in negotiating with the British and Congress leaders who were united in their opposition to Pakistan. Recognizing him as their charismatic leader, and moved by the Pakistan demand, the Muslim masses rallied behind him, with the result that at the creation of Pakistan in August 1947, his charisma was truly at its zenith. Book Synopsis Quotes from the Quaid by : Liaquat Merchant
Download or read book Quotes from the Quaid written by Liaquat Merchant and published by Saiyid Books. This book was released on 2020-09-08 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Every Pakistani from the youngest child to your eldest scholar should read this wonderful book Quotes from the Quaid with pride and joy. Each page contains at least one inspiring thought culled from the life’s work of your great leader, illuminating Quaid-e-Azam’s humane brilliance and the wisdom of his remarkable mind”, writes Professor Stanley Wolpert in his foreword to the book. The decision by the Jinnah Society to publish Quotes from the Quaid as an e-book responds to the need for increasing awareness of Jinnah's leadership and the Pakistan Movement; the ever-increasing demand for this book from Pakistanis and the need to make Quotes from the Quaid available to all in and outside Pakistan easily as an e-book free of cost particularly in these troubled times caused by the Coronavirus all over the world. The book has previously sold more than 20,000 copies and was distributed to schools, colleges and universities for free. It was published first in 2007 by Oxford University Press and then again in 2020 by Lightstone Publishers. Mr. Liaquat Merchant, President of The Jinnah Society. said that the sole purpose of The Jinnah Society in bringing out Quotes from the Quaid in hard copy and now as an e-book constitutes one more effort to propagate and promote the principles, ideals, and vision of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, as a nation-building exercise and thus promote the development of democratic leaders in the role model of Mr Jinnah with particular emphasis on private honour and public integrity.
Book Synopsis In Quest of Jinnah by : Hector Bolitho
Download or read book In Quest of Jinnah written by Hector Bolitho and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 2007 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The greatest travail to be undertaken by writers is that of the official biographer. In 1953, Beverly Nichols suggested Hector Bolitho, the New Zealand born biographer of Prince Albert, as the person best suited to write the biography of Pakistan's founder, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the Quaid-i-Azam and first Governor-General. Hector Bolitho's Jinnah: Creator of Pakistan (1954) became his most celebrated and influential book. Frustrated however, at what he was not allowed to write or include, Bolitho preserved for scholars the first draft of his biography, his diary and notes, his correspondence with Government of Pakistan functionaries and highly placed individuals in Britain, India and Pakistan who had known Jinnah personally, and the English and American reviews of the book's published version. All of this material is present in this volume. In Quest of Jinnah which gives not only a stereovision of the original published version, but offers fresh and authentic insights into the personality and politics of Mohammed Ali Jinnah. It is a very rare version. To compile and edit such a vast volume of valuable material, an extraordinary scholar of Jinnah and Academy, doyen of Jinnah scholars in Pakistan and author of Jinnah Studies in Interpretation (1981), not only retrieved the material present in this volume but very carefully and meticulously edited it, to create a user-friendly volume for both the scholar and the general reader.

Book Synopsis Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah by : S. M. Burke
Download or read book Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah written by S. M. Burke and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1997 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: That Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah won Pakistan against impossible odds, is well known, but the real reasons for Jinnah's successes are not widely recognized. The suspicion lingers that his policies were communal and negative and that Pakistan was a mistake. The reason for this is that the critics of Pakistan have written more voluminously and powerfully than its defenders. This book convincingly shows that it was Mahatma Gandhi who first introduced religion into politics. This ultimately drove the Hindus and the Muslims irreconcilably apart and eventually convinced even Jinnah - who had won the accolade of being the Ambassador of Hindu-Muslim Unity - that his dream of a united India was nothing but a mirage.
