This book was released on 1995-11-01 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report provides key results of a three-year experimental and theoretical research and development effort performed under the auspices of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The goal of the R&D was to establish the validity of online calibration monitoring of process instrumentation channels in nuclear power plants. The author concludes that the normal outputs of instrument channels in nuclear plants can be monitored over a fuel cycle while the plant is operating and during startup and shutdown periods to verify the calibration of the instruments, thereby improving plant efficiency and safety, eliminating unnecessary calibrations, and reducing operations and maintenance costs.

Book excerpt: Unsurpassed in its coverage, usability, and authority since its first publication in 1969, the three-volume Instrument Engineers' Handbook continues to be the premier reference for instrument engineers around the world. It helps users select and implement hundreds of measurement and control instruments and analytical devices and design the most cost-effective process control systems that optimize production and maximize safety. Now entering its fourth edition, Volume 1: Process Measurement and Analysis is fully updated with increased emphasis on installation and maintenance consideration. Its coverage is now fully globalized with product descriptions from manufacturers around the world. Béla G. Lipták speaks on Post-Oil Energy Technology on the AT&T Tech Channel.
Book Synopsis On-line Monitoring for Improving Performance of Nuclear Power Plants by : International Atomic Energy Agency
Download or read book On-line Monitoring for Improving Performance of Nuclear Power Plants written by International Atomic Energy Agency and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 109 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On-line monitoring techniques have been under development over the past two decades for a variety of applications in process and power industries. In the nuclear power industry, on-line monitoring techniques have been considered for instrument calibration verification as well as equipment and plant condition monitoring. This publication reviews the state of the art in on-line equipment monitoring for nuclear power plant (NPP) applications. Its focus is on instrument calibration verification and extension of calibration intervals of sensors, transmitters and channels. This publication also includes reviews of regulatory positions on this subject and provides examples of implementation of on-line monitoring techniques in NPPs. Furthermore, the in-situ methods for verifying the dynamic performance and response time of process instrumentation are reviewed.--Publisher's description.

Download or read book Nuclear Power written by Pavel Tsvetkov and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2011-09-26 with total page 444 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advances in reactor designs, materials and human-machine interfaces guarantee safety and reliability of emerging reactor technologies, eliminating possibilities for high-consequence human errors as those which have occurred in the past. New instrumentation and control technologies based in digital systems, novel sensors and measurement approaches facilitate safety, reliability and economic competitiveness of nuclear power options. Autonomous operation scenarios are becoming increasingly popular to consider for small modular systems. This book belongs to a series of books on nuclear power published by InTech. It consists of four major sections and contains twenty-one chapters on topics from key subject areas pertinent to instrumentation and control, operation reliability, system aging and human-machine interfaces. The book targets a broad potential readership group - students, researchers and specialists in the field - who are interested in learning about nuclear power.
