Since the nineteenth century until today, it has intrigued, enchanted and moved readers of all ages. It tells the tale of Alice, the little girl who falls down the rabbit hole into a place of fantasy, inhabited by weird creatures who resemble human beings. A nonsensical universe, filled with an absurd logic that feels like a dream world, in a narrative marked by parodies of children's poems popular in England at that time. There Alice goes on weird and absurd adventures, faces uncommon situations, meets extravagant beings, is asked enigmatic and illogical questions, grows and shrinks in size... And lives through it all unfazed and with a lot of curiosity.

Book excerpt: The prize-winning essays in this book address the fascinating but sometimes uncomfortable relationship between physics and mathematics. Is mathematics merely another natural science? Or is it the result of human creativity? Does physics simply wear mathematics like a costume, or is math the lifeblood of physical reality? The nineteen wide-ranging, highly imaginative and often entertaining essays are enhanced versions of the prize-winning entries to the FQXi essay competition “Trick or Truth”, which attracted over 200 submissions. The Foundational Questions Institute, FQXi, catalyzes, supports, and disseminates research on questions at the foundations of physics and cosmology, particularly new frontiers and innovative ideas integral to a deep understanding of reality, but unlikely to be supported by conventional funding sources.

Book excerpt: Alice in Wonderland The bestseller book of Adventure Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland LEWIS CARROLL“So many out-of-the-way things had happened lately, that Alice had begun to think that very few things indeed were really impossible.” When Alice catches a glimpse of a smartly-dressed talking rabbit on the riverbank, she follows him into a rabbit hole, tumbling down after him into a deeply bizarre subterranean world inhabited entirely by anthropomorphic beings. As she wanders through these strange new lands trying to get back home, she encounters a varied cast of characters, from the mischievous Cheshire Cat to the quite possibly insane Mad Hatter, to the wise, hookah-smoking Caterpillar, and they are all just as curious about her as she is about them. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland explores themes of growing up, mortality, and curiosity through the unique, innocent perspective of a child. Lewis Carroll, born Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, was a 19th-century English scholar, mathematician, and author. He was most famous for his novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and later its sequel, Through the Looking Glass, both of which forever changed the landscape of Victorian literature and remain beloved staples of children’s literature to this day. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the pilot color version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. It has inferior art, a few typos, and a magniloquent preface. But in its defense it was my first effort of its kind - ever. So it is my first-born special needs baby and I love her much. The only reason I think anyone would want this pilot version is for speculation or investment, so I jacked the price. I also Diddit because I am unhappy with the print quality - you can look inside, its still very good but not as great as I wanted - so I figured to overprice it so no one will buy it. . . yet, people STILL buy copies. I guess that's alright as long as you understand what you're getting. It is very cool how Alice's dress begins yellow and ends blue, an effect you can only experience in color. . . so there is that. Eventually this pilot version will (definitely) be deleted and replaced with a more reasonably priced colour edition. Please come back if you want a color copy. Mistakes will be fixed, and visually inferior panels will be updated to color reflections of the B&W. But if you must have the color pilot version, this is your last chance to own it before it is gone.

Book excerpt: This is the original version of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" with Carroll's own original illustrations and John Tenniel's original illustrations. It was hand-written by Lewis Carroll for Alice Liddell between 1862 and 1864. The tale was first told by Carroll on 4 July 1862 to the three young daughters of Henry Liddell, Dean of Christ Church, Oxford, on a river boat trip. At Christmas 1886, the manuscript was published in a facsimile edition. This edition is certainly well worth reading, although it is shorter than the final form of the story-the later "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" being about twice the length of the original "Alice's Adventures under Ground". Lewis Carroll (1832 – 1898), was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican deacon and photographer.
