Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Transition metal NMR spectroscopy has progressed enormously in recent years. New methods, and specifically solid-state methods and new pulse sequences, have allowed access to data from nuclei with relatively low receptivities with the result that chemists have begun to consider problems previously inaccessible. Moreover, theory, and computational science in particular, now permits the calculation of not just 13 C, 15 N and other light nuclei chemical shifts, but also heavy main-group elements and transition metals. This, combined with increasing access to high field pulsed spectrometers has produced a wealth of new data on NMR of transition metals. understanding and using the nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of the metals of Groups 3-12. The reader is provided with a view on how these nuclei are currently being approached, and what information can be obtained. The authors have liberally reproduced spectra as well as correlations relating metal-NMR data to different physical characteristics of their molecules.

Book Synopsis Solution NMR of Paramagnetic Molecules by : Ivano Bertini
Download or read book Solution NMR of Paramagnetic Molecules written by Ivano Bertini and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2001-07-04 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: NMR is a growing technique which represents a generalized, spread, common tool for spectroscopy and for structural and dynamic investigation. Part of the field of competence of NMR is represented by molecules with unpaired electrons, which are called paramagnetic. The presence of unpaired electrons is at the same time a drawback (negative effect) and a precious source of information about structure and dynamics. New phenomena and effects are described which are due to the high magnetic fields and advances in the methodology. Solution NMR of Paramagnetic Molecules is unique in dealing with these matters. The scope is that of presenting a complete description, which is both rigorous and pictorial, of theory and experiments of NMR of paramagnetic molecules in solution. Pertinent examples are described. From the time dependent behaviour of electrons in the various metal ions including polimetallic systems to the hyperfine-based information, and from NMR experiments to constraints for solution structure determination. The book's major theme is how to perform high resolution NMR experiments and how to obtain structural and dynamic information on paramagnetic metal ion containing systems.
Book Synopsis Nuclear Magnetic Resonance of Paramagnetic Macromolecules by : G.N. la Mar
Download or read book Nuclear Magnetic Resonance of Paramagnetic Macromolecules written by G.N. la Mar and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 403 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since A. Kowalsky's first report of the spectrum of cytochrome c in 1965, interest in the detection, assignment and interpretation of paramagnetic molecules has surged, especially in the last decade. Two classes of systems have played a key role in the development of the field: heme proteins and iron-sulfur proteins. These two systems are unique in many respects, one of which is that they contain well-defined chromophores, each of which can be studied in detail outside the protein matrix. They are the most successfully studied macromolecules, and the first eight and last six of the seventeen contributions to this book deal with heme and/or iron-sulfur proteins. The middle three chapters survey the progress on, and significant promise of, more difficult systems which do not possess a chromophore, but which have nevertheless yielded remarkable insights into their structure.
