Book excerpt: My Magnum Opus which in Latin means, “Great work,” is a collection of my poetry to which I have written over the past decade. One of my greatest achievements, besides being a devoted Mother, is being a dedicated writer. Writing is my one of my greatest joys in my life and I hope that you will find my work enjoyable to your spirit and your soul. Embrace it, challenge your mind , and with it, do something intrinsic; have faith in yourself that you can do and be anything you want to be, with hard work and commitment to your particular goal, nothing is impossible for you.” My Mother told me several years ago, “If God wants it to happen for you, He will make it happen.” That rings so very true in my life and my experiences as a young woman and a Mother of a beautiful and radiant child, Elizabeth Paige McKoy. I grew up in the Washington-Metropolitan area and have one sibling, Edward McKoy who has been a positive influence in my life. My parents were Margaret Y. Mckoy and Thomas Hall McKoy III. I was raised in a loving and nurturing environment. My Mother had strong Christian virtues and raised me with high morals and values, which you will find in my writing. I have found that in my lifetime, that sometimes God has to break us down to rebuild us again, and He has done that with me a multitude of times. It is my experience that we lead by example, meaning, giving back part of what one has been given in one's life; it is imperative. I am not perfect, and I have made my share of mistakes, but I have hence learned that it is what you do with those mistakes that you make and how you grow from those mistakes that mold you into the person you become in life. Nothing in this world happens by mere chance alone, and we each have a purpose in our lives. What is your purpose? If you do not know, I would encourage you to find it, for within you, deep down inside you, is a rare gift that needs to be shared with the world. I challenge you to find out what your gift is, and when you do, do something positive with it and, move forward, not in fear, but in faith. My endeavor has just begun as a Poet, Novelist, and as a Children's Book Author. Today, I challenge you to begin to plant a few seeds and see what blooms for you in your life; you will soon thereafter have a magnificent garden.

Within its walls, a magical creature called a 'Maker' busily created the next of his kin. Upon completion, the creator was whisked away to join the rest of the Maker community. Meanwhile, their progeny was left alone to create the next Maker in a never-ending cycle of creation. That was, until the day an offbeat Maker named Ario was unable to complete 'The Making' and broke their sacred chain of existence. Wracked with guilt, Ario embarked on a quest to right his wrong, but what he discovered was far more monstrous and miraculous than anyone ever imagined. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It has always been my position that there is more to life, to reality, and to what is possible for human beings. As a practicing Alchemist I know that people are far more capable than they may suspect and that it is possible for those with the right knowledge and dedication to escape the three-dimensional walls that trap us all on this planet. This course is a step by step formula on how to achieve this. It is not just a 'red pill', because such red pill enlightenment is not enough. Indeed, enlightenment without power can be a curse: knowing the walls are there but having no way to get out can be hell on Earth. This course shows you how to acquire all the power that you will ever need to escape these walls, and it provides those ready for it, much more. Within the pages of this text, you will find: The way towards effortless action and unbending intent. The truth about the Great Archon and the prison without walls. The reason why your attempts at Inner Action (magick, manifestation, astral travel, etc.) up to this point may have been unreliable and weak. How to find personal enlightenment and uncover the structure of your psyche. The power of personal attention and how to master it. How to open THE GATE in order to become a true sorcerer/sorceress. How to absorb all negative energy in the present and how to gain power from this action. How to absorb entire negative situations in order to completely stop negative trends and what some might refer to as a wave of bad luck. How to PROPERLY re-absorb all lost energy from your ENTIRE LIFE HISTORY and gain immense power. This is the technique that some may know as recapitulation, Tantric cleansing, etc. Information on energetic storage (the Cauldron). How to heal all energetic wounds accumulated after a lifetime of suffering. How to use two energy pumps simultaneously. How to refine accumulated energy in order to start the process of creating the PHILOSOPHER'S STONE. How to use the power of the Philosopher's Stone to begin to change your life situation by using powerful thought-forms. How to begin to REFINE THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE INTO THE IMMORTAL BODY. The course includes illustrations, exercises, and a general 'workout' routine to help you reach your goal. Indeed, this is a complete course on the MAGNUM OPUS! Here you have found The Great Work of Inner Alchemy, presented in a clear and straightforward manner. There are no riddles, no cryptic symbolism, no initiation rituals, and no hidden secrets to weed out the uninitiated. This is the truth, the Magnum Opus; this is the Great Work that shows you how to create the Philosopher's Stone, and how to use that Stone to go beyond the walls that now trap human beings on this Earth. There is really no more time for games and riddles. We only have time now for the plain truth. Some have asked why present this course as a book? Why not make a video course or some other digital format that is more popular in these times? And the reason for this is quite simply: time. I have been around long enough to see many things come and go, and my senses have become keen enough to see some of the intricacies of this world. Through such experience and perceptions, I have seen things peak and wane, and I have seen many things lost within the medium of time. Videos and digital formats require a complex system to work and be maintained, and such complex systems are usually the first to fall or change when exposed to the brutal torrents and extreme pressures of time. But a print book (as well as an eBook for your convenience), that is something that you can keep in your personal library for a lifetime with only moderate care. And history has shown us that a simple book can outlast even whole civilizations.

Book excerpt: "What began in 1959 as a simple homage to the modernist poet H.D. (Hilda Doolittle) developed into an expansive and unique quest for a poetics that would fuel Duncan's great work into the 1960s and 1970s. A meditation on both the roots of modernism and its manifestation in the writings of H.D., Djuna Barnes, Ezra Pound, D.H. Lawrence, Gertrude Stein, William Carlos Williams, Virginia Woolf, and many others, Duncan's wide-ranging work is especially notable for illuminating the role women played in creating literary modernism"--From publisher description.

Book excerpt: Beginning in childbirth and entered like a multiple dwelling in motion, Women and Men embraces and anatomizes the 1970s in New York - from experiments in the chaotic relations between the sexes to the flux of the city itself. Yet through an intricate overlay of scenes, voices, fact, and myth, this expanding fiction finds its way also across continents and into earlier and future times and indeed the Earth, to reveal connections between the most disparate lives and systems of feeling and power. At its breathing heart, it plots the fuguelike and fieldlike densities of late-twentieth-century life. McElroy rests a global vision on two people, apartment-house neighbors who never quite meet. Except, that is, in the population of others whose histories cross theirs believers and skeptics; lovers, friends, and hermits; children, parents, grandparents, avatars, and, apparently, angels. For Women and Men shows how the families through which we pass let one person's experience belong to that of many, so that we throw light on each other as if these kinships were refracted lives so real as to be reincarnate. A mirror of manners, the book is also a meditation on the languages, rich, ludicrous, exact, and also American, in which we try to grasp the world we're in. Along the kindred axes of separation and intimacy Women and Men extends the great line of twentieth-century innovative fiction.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Biblical Foundations Book Award The Pentateuch is the foundation for understanding the Old Testament and the Bible as a whole. Yet through the centuries it has been probed and dissected, weighed and examined, its text peeled back for its underlying history, its discourse analyzed and its words weighed. Could there be any stone in Sinai yet unturned? Surprisingly, there is. From a career of study, John Sailhamer sums up his perspective on the Pentateuch by first settling the hermeneutical question of where we should set our attention. Rather than focus on the history behind the text, Sailhamer is convinced that it is the text itself that should be our primary focus. Along the way he demonstrates that this was in fact the focus of many interpreters in the precritical era. Persuaded of the singular vision of the Pentateuch, Sailhamer searches out clues left by the author and the later editor of the Pentateuch that will disclose the meaning of this great work. By paying particular attention to the poetic seams in the text, he rediscovers a message that surprisingly brings us to the threshold of the New Testament gospel.

Book excerpt: The Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz, often looked upon as the third Rosicrucian manifesto, has an entirely different tone from the other Rosicrucian documents. Unlike the Rosicrucian manifestoes, which address the transformation of society, The Chemical Wedding is concerned with the inner transformation of the soul. It is a deeply interior work, one which asks the reader to step into its world of symbols and walk with Christian Rosenkreutz along his path of transformation. Despite its importance as a key text of the Western esoteric traditions, this is the first ever contemporary English translation of The Chemical Wedding, made especially for this edition by Joscelyn Godwin. Also included in this edition is an introduction and commentary by Adam McLean, which illuminates the transformative symbolism.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The legendary New York Times bestselling tale of top-down change for anyone trying to navigate today's uncertain business seas. When Captain Abrashoff took over as commander of USS Benfold, it was like a business that had all the latest technology but only some of the productivity. Knowing that responsibility for improving performance rested with him, he realized he had to improve his own leadership skills before he could improve his ship. Within months, he created a crew of confident and inspired problem-solvers eager to take the initiative and responsibility for their actions. The slogan on board became "It's your ship," and Benfold was soon recognized far and wide as a model of naval efficiency. How did Abrashoff do it? Against the backdrop of today's United States Navy, Abrashoff shares his secrets of successful management including: See the ship through the eyes of the crew: By soliciting a sailor's suggestions, Abrashoff drastically reduced tedious chores that provided little additional value. Communicate, communicate, communicate: The more Abrashoff communicated the plan, the better the crew's performance. His crew eventually started calling him "Megaphone Mike," since they heard from him so often. Create discipline by focusing on purpose: Discipline skyrocketed when Abrashoff's crew believed that what they were doing was important. Listen aggressively: After learning that many sailors wanted to use the GI Bill, Abrashoff brought a test official aboard the ship-and held the SATs forty miles off the Iraqi coast. From achieving amazing cost savings to winning the highest gunnery score in the Pacific Fleet, Captain Abrashoff's extraordinary campaign sent shock waves through the U.S. Navy. It can help you change the course of your ship, no matter where your business battles are fought.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: FULLY REVISED AND UPDATED! Released in 1995, Michael Jackson s "Earth Song" was in many ways anachronistic. In both theme and sound, it was like nothing else on the radio. It defied the cynicism and apathy of Generation X. It challenged the aesthetic expectations for a pop song or even a protest song, fusing blues, opera, rock and gospel. It demanded conscience in an era of corporate greed, genocide and environmental indifference. A massive hit around the world (reaching #1 in over fifteen countries), it wasn t even offered as a single in the United States. Yet nearly eighteen years later, this six-and-a-half minute lamentation stands as one of Jackson s greatest artistic achievements. In this groundbreaking monograph, author Joseph Vogel -- who filmmaker Spike Lee praised as having "brilliantly cracked the DNA" of Jackson's work -- details the song s evolution from its inception in Vienna in 1988, to never-before-heard stories from the recording studio, to its controversial release and reception, to Jackson s final live performance in Munich in 1999. Based on original research, including interviews with the song s key participants, Earth Song: Inside Michael Jackson s Magnum Opus offers a fascinating reassessment of this timeless work of art.

It pursues the theme of philosophy’s confrontation with its own limits, in modern philosophers from Hegel to Derrida, including Nietzsche, Wittgenstein, Heidegger, and Gadamer. The author focuses on questions of philosophical style, dialogue and indirect communication, the structural closure of philosophical texts, and performative strategy in philosophy. The book is an accessible discussion of many of the complex issues that empower continental philosophy. It will appeal to students of philosophy and contemporary thought at every level, and to the general reader interested in the heart of the debates in European thought.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, historian María M. Portuondo takes us to sixteenth-century Spain, where she identifies a community of natural philosophers and biblical scholars. They shared what she calls the “Spanish Disquiet”—a preoccupation with the perceived shortcomings of prevailing natural philosophies and empirical approaches when it came to explaining the natural world. Foremost among them was Benito Arias Montano—Spain’s most prominent biblical scholar and exegete of the sixteenth century. He was also a widely read member of the European intellectual community, and his motivation to reform natural philosophy shows that the Spanish Disquiet was a local manifestation of greater concerns about Aristotelian natural philosophy that were overtaking Europe on the eve of the Scientific Revolution. His approach to the study of nature framed the natural world as unfolding from a series of events described in the Book of Genesis, ultimately resulting in a new metaphysics, cosmology, physics, and even a natural history of the world. By bringing Arias Montano’s intellectual and personal biography into conversation with broader themes that inform histories of science of the era, The Spanish Disquiet ensures an appreciation of the variety and richness of Arias Montano’s thought and his influence on early modern science.

Book excerpt: There is only ONE accurate version of the truth of your worth and that is the Father's truth, because you are His creation. Only He really understands you and the things that have fought hard to wound your soul and steal your confidence. He sees you through eyes uncluttered by human hindrances and social sentiment. God loved Adam so much, He created the greatest, most inspiring work of art He could for him--Eve! She was the expression of the Father's love. A priceless treasure, indeed! In woman, the Father created His Magnum Opus, His work of art--the grand finale of His creation masterpiece. In the Father's grand design for humanity, you are His magnum opus!~I dreamt I was atop a dark and lonely hill awaiting the return of the prodigal sons and daughters. Carrying a torch in my hand, I desperately tried to light the way for them to come home. But my light alone was much too dim to light the way for their safe return. I cried out to God, "Make my light brighter, Lord!"When I opened my eyes, I saw the entire hillside was lit up with a great light. As I looked around, I saw it was covered with a large crowd of women all holding their torches high into the night's sky to guide the lost home. "The Lord announces the word, and the women who proclaim it are a mighty throng: 'Kings and armies flee in haste...'" Psalm 68:11-12. The Father is rallying His great Army of Women--Will you join Him?
