Existen una serie de factores de relevancia internacional que inciden en la conformación de los mercados estatales de trabajo, incluido el español, y en la comprensión de los problemas presentes que comporta la regulación jurídica de las relaciones laborales: entre otros, las transformaciones socio-económica que auspicia el actual proceso de globalización, los cambios en los modelos productivos utilizados y en la estructuración de la división internacional del trabajo como consecuencia del mismo, la creciente internacionalización de la economía o la participación en procesos de integración económica. Nociones básicas de Régimen Jurídico Internacional del Trabajo tiene, por tanto, como objetivo el de ofrecer una visión panorámica de estas cuestiones, tratando de cuidar el difícil equilibrio entre la búsqueda de una explicación rigurosa y precisa de los contenidos indispensables para el aprendizaje fundamental del régimen jurídico internacional del trabajo, y la necesidad de vertebrar la explicación realmente en aquellos aspectos jurídicos básicos de la materia. La obra se estructura en tres partes: la primera parte explica de manera muy básica los fundamentos del Derecho internacional público como cuerpo normativo dentro del que se crean y aplican las normas jurídicas internacionales cuyo objeto son las relaciones laborales. La segunda, expone el funcionamiento y principales hitos de aquellas Organizaciones internacionales de cooperación, de carácter universal y europeo que entre sus actividades ofrecen un tratamiento genérico o específico de las cuestiones laborales. Finalmente, la tercera parte, se dedica a la dimensión normativa de las relaciones laborales, perceptible en el desarrollo del proceso de integración europea y, por consiguiente, en el Derecho de la Unión Europea, asumiendo la importancia de las normas jurídicas de la Unión para entender el marco de relaciones laborales existentes en España.

Based on a review of the literature and some new empirical evidence, it finds that (1) in spite of an apparently strong theoretical presumption, it is difficult to detect a strong and robust causal relationship between financial integration and economic growth; (2) contrary to theoretical predictions, financial integration appears to be associated with increases in consumption volatility (both in absolute terms and relative to income volatility) in many developing countries; and (3) there appear to be threshold effects in both of these relationships, which may be related to absorptive capacity. Some recent evidence suggests that sound macroeconomic frameworks and, in particular, good governance are both quantitatively and qualitatively important in affecting developing countries’ experiences with financial globalization.
