Book Synopsis On the Road To Emmaus by : Rev. Fr. Abjar Bahkou, Ph.D.
Download or read book On the Road To Emmaus written by Rev. Fr. Abjar Bahkou, Ph.D. and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2011-05-31 with total page 141 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: this curricula is part of my personal journey. I poured my heart and spirit into it. It is not a pure theological essay, but a blend of experience and theology. The fathers of the Church throughout history underlined two important conditions in studying the Bible and writing theology: the first is to read the Bible communally within Christ’s body, the Church. The exegesis is an ecclesial task that takes place within the Church and for the Church. The second is to read the Bible within the context of practice of prayer, worship and spiritual formation. The fathers insisted on the connection between spiritual well being, life in the Church and commentary on the Church book. I have faithfully endeavored to follow the instructions of the fathers. My hope is that the reader of this book, or the group that will share this journey, will realize that this voyage is the culmination of almost 10 years of daily reflection and analysis of the problems that our teenagers face in their daily lives. It is the reply to many prayers and personal devotions. Its ultimate purpose is to help our youth build a personal and intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Book Synopsis New Regional Trading Arrangements in the Asia Pacific? by : Robert Scollay
Download or read book New Regional Trading Arrangements in the Asia Pacific? written by Robert Scollay and published by Peterson Institute. This book was released on 2001 with total page 594 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What are the choices the Asia-Pacific community will face if it proceeds further down the path of developing preferential regional trading arrangements? Fragmentation of the region into preferential trading arrangements on a bilateral or subregional basis promises relatively little economic gain and considerable risk of increased trade conflict. Larger preferential trading blocs, spanning the whole of East Asia, the Western Pacific, or the APEC membership, offer greater potential economic benefits but also face formidable political obstacles. In this study, Scollay and Gilbert weigh the economic consequences of the increased use of preferential trading arrangements in the Asia-Pacific region, whether these develop on the basis of trans-Pacific cooperation or solely within the East Asian or Western Pacific sub-regions. They evaluate the economic effects of both the existing proposals for new bilateral and multilateral agreements and of more far-reaching developments involving the creation of a substantial trading bloc or blocs in the region. Comparisons between the economic effects of establishing such bloc(s) in the region and the effects of achieving APEC's Bogor goals on the basis of "open regionalism" suggest that the latter approach continues to offer a worthwhile alternative. The study demonstrates that the benefits of global free trade dominate those available from establishment of any combination of major blocs or from APEC's "open regionalism".

Download or read book Woman to Woman Wisdom written by Bettie Youngs and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 2005-08-28 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whether your heart is burdened or bursting with joy, nothing satisfies quite like talking things over with another woman. Regardless of the paths our lives take, all women are "sisters"-we speak a common language; we share a universal bond. Because the hopes and dreams that both burden and give flight to a woman's heart dwell within all of us, we create relationships that are intensely rich, precious and prized. Thus, we comfort and encourage each other; we help each other through life's ups and downs; we know each other's experiences as if they were our own; we are a blessing to each other. As this book of beautiful, inspirational life lessons reveals, sharing the experiences of our lives imbues us with a wisdom the soul reveres: Nothing happens without God's permission.
