Download or read book Suzy's Case written by Andy Siegel and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2012-07-10 with total page 375 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This wild ride of a debut thriller is packed with insider details that reveal the fascinating world of a New York lawyer who’ll stop at nothing to secure justice. Introducing Tug Wyler, a dogged and irreverent New York City personal injury and medical malpractice attorney. He is as at home on the streets as he is in the courtroom, and larger than life in both places. Once you’ve met him, you won’t ever forget him. When Henry Benson, a high-profile criminal lawyer known for his unsavory clients, recruits Tug to take over a long-pending multimillion-dollar lawsuit representing a tragically brain-damaged child, his instructions are clear: get us out of it; there is no case. Yet the moment Tug meets the disabled but gallant little Suzy Williams and June, her beautiful, resourceful mother, all bets are off. With an offbeat, self-mocking style, Tug Wyler’s a far cry from your ordinary lawyer. Unswerving in his dedication to his mostly disadvantaged clients, he understands only too well how badly they need him with the system stacked against them. Tug is honest about his own shortcomings, many of them of the profoundly politically incorrect variety, and his personal catchphrase, handy in all situations, is “At least I admit it.” When his passionate commitment to Suzy’s case thrusts him into a surreal, often violent sideshow, the ensuing danger only sharpens his obsession with learning what really happened to Suzy. Blending razor-sharp intuition, intellectual toughness, and endlessly creative legal brinkmanship, Tug determinedly works his way through a maze of well-kept secrets—encountering a cast of memorably eccentric characters along the way—to get to the truth. Among the many fresh-to-the-genre pleasures of Suzy’s Case is its eye-opening portrait of the brutally tough world of medical malpractice law in New York City, an aggressive, very-big-bucks, winner-takes-all game in which lawyers relentlessly cut corners, deals—and throats. With Andy Siegel as the expert guide to his daily home turf, that largely unseen medicolegal universe, where life—and death—always have a price, you’ll experience its addictive, risk-taking reality. The result is a stunning debut as gripping as it is unexpected, as rollicking as it is compassionate, revealing Andy Siegel to be a bright new voice of remarkable energy, wit, and style.
Download or read book The Case for Grace written by Lee Strobel and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2015-02-24 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Join investigative journalist and bestselling author Lee Strobel as he embarks on his life-changing quest to solve the riddle of grace. Along the way, you'll find the undeniable evidence of grace in the true stories of racists, addicts, and even murderers who have found new hope and purpose--all through the redemptive power of God's amazing grace. In The Case for Grace, Lee offers an accessible explanation of the theology of God's grace, shown through the incredible, dramatic, can't-put-it-down stories of people whose lives were changed by the gift of grace--true accounts of people whose transformation and renewal are so radical that they seem to be best explained as the work of a gracious God. Lee draws upon his own journey from atheism to Christianity to explore the depth and breadth of God's redeeming love for spiritually wayward people, traveling thousands of miles to capture the inspiring stories of everyday people whose values have been radically changed and who have discovered the "how" and "why" behind God's amazing grace. Each story that Strobel shares in The Case for Grace contributes a piece to the puzzle of grace, showing us: How grace goes beyond forgiveness to acceptance and even adoption by God How it restores hope when none is left; how it extends to the most heinous circumstances How it allows us to forgive those who caused our most intimate wounds--and even to forgive ourselves Through it all, you will be encouraged as you see how God's grace can revolutionize your life--starting today.

Book excerpt: A profound exploration of how to hold on to hope when our unchanging faith collides with a changing culture, from two respected Christian storytellers and thought leaders. “Offers neither spin control nor image maintenance for the evangelical tribe, but genuine hope.”—Russell Moore, president of ERLC As the pressures of health warnings, economic turmoil, and partisan politics continue to rise, the influence of gospel-focused Christians seems to be waning. But there’s another story unfolding too—if you know where to look. In Gospelbound, Collin Hansen and Sarah Eekhoff Zylstra counter these growing fears with a robust message of resolute hope for anyone hungry for good news. Join them in exploring profound stories of Christians who are quietly changing the world in the name of Jesus—from the wild world of digital media to the stories of ancient saints and unsung contemporary activists on the frontiers of justice and mercy. Book Synopsis Leave A Legacy In Words by : Raymond Tapp
Download or read book Leave A Legacy In Words written by Raymond Tapp and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2017-09-07 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book of poems was written with inspiration and from the heart. It came to pass as if God was speaking to me giving me the words to put on paper, the poems are spiritually discerned and written out of love. At times, I knew it was God speaking to me as you will find as you read these poems as well as in the books to follow. This book of poems was meant to inspire those that read them, whether they make you sad, happy, or encourage you. It was God who seen me through a five year serve out incarcerations. That is five years straight, from 1997 to the end of 2001. I have been out for 15 years and have not looked back. You have to be down and out, it is then that you will call out to God, "God help me". So, I am truly grateful that he did just that. I spent my time reading and writing a lot, also taking care of my physical body by working out and doing a lot of walking. As I walked, I had a little pocket version of the New Testament and I would read scriptures until I memorized them. One of the first scriptures I memorized was Proverbs 3:5-6. The scripture says "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, lean not unto thine own understanding in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy paths". (King James Version) May you be inspired and blessed as you read these poems. God has blessed me and he wants me to share that it was Him that changes life. May you find comfort and peace as you read these poems. God Bless Ray Tapp

Book Synopsis Daddy's Little Girl and Mommy's Little Boy by : Zester Hatfield
Download or read book Daddy's Little Girl and Mommy's Little Boy written by Zester Hatfield and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2005 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mr. Hatfield with all of his years of experience in marriage, parenting, family, missions and in the Church pulls no punches in calling Christ's Bride to return to His Truth (God's revealed Law-Word) regarding discipleship (men and women of faith and grace) in Manhood and Womanhood, outrageously successful spousal relations, parenting with training in romance, sexual satisfaction, love and marriage! He is calling all believers, especially men, to confession and repentance and to receive, understand and apply these Truths in the Power of the Holy Spirit as the only acceptable response in which God will revive and reform the Family and the Church in the 21st Century! Not for the weak-kneed, weak-minded or humanistically influenced, this is for Christ's Bride as we prepare for and anticipate His return! These applications of God's revealed Law-Word and His uncommon common sense in the lives of America's postmodern Christian culture and especially the promise of duplicating of these successes for love and marriage in our children, is exciting and challenging to the point of precedent setting magnitudes. The reader will experience riveting and exciting challenges to the status quo of our present day Christian culture. "Based on interviews with more than 1000 adults nationwide, the survey discovered that less than one out of every five adults believes that children under the age of 13 are being "superbly" or "pretty well" prepared for life emotionally, physically, spiritually, intellectually or physically. Fewer than one out of every twenty adults believes that America's youngsters are receiving above average preparation in all five of those areas of life." Americans Agree: "Kids Are Not Being Prepared for Life," The Barna Group-October 26, 2004 The couples, who discover the answers to the moral morass of our postmodern Christian culture, are those who know that the future of their children is in jeopardy and that we are in a war for the control of that future! Sadly, the statistics of broken homes, divorces, adultery, domestic violence, drugs and promiscuity - to mention only some of the ills of our culture - are almost equally divided between "Christian" families and non-Christian families. This is unacceptable as a comparison and must change. Consequently, fathers and mothers of faith and grace are those - who are and or who will experience - God's promise of victory over these fruits of our fallen nature and live a marriage experience that captures the best of God's gifts of love, sex and romance in marriage. Daddy's Little Girl and Mommy's Little Boy brings us clear evidence of just how America's Christian couples can have this victory in their marriage and how to duplicate this success in their sons and daughters.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1980, Pamela Alexander and her husband, Jimmy, felt led by God to open a bed and breakfast and were led to Psalm 37 within a short time of that calling. Through this passage, they learned how to wait upon the Lord and how best to prepare and build a B&B. Meanwhile, they trained in the art of hospitality and grew in His wisdom. Thirteen years later, they opened the Alexander Bed & Breakfast Acres (ABBA). Trust without Borders presents an exploration of Psalm 37. In this study, Pamela examines how God wants us to trust Him with all of our being, showing that when we worship Him in that obedience, He blesses us abundantly with joy and peace. She reveals that trust is our gift back to God, and that He is pleased by the beauty of a trusting heart, and that trust demonstrates the meaning of living by grace rather than works. She also considers these questions: Is it trust only when we get our way? How do trust and entering His rest comingle? Why is gratefulness a foremost quality of a trusting follower of Christ? Join Pamela in fellowship and in study of Gods Word, and learn how to trust God with everything and every need of your life.

Scars were left behind when my Mother put me in the New York Foundling Hospital for pregnant young girls. I was pretty much on my own. I didnt have a Father figure growing up; because my daddy died the day before I turned four years old. I didnt have a Mother figure; because my mothers alcoholism led her to be abusive to her children, and the ones around her. My Mother didnt teach me about the facts of Life, and my brothers and sisters werent sibling figures; because they were older, and into themselves. Throughout my Trails and Tribulations in my Life, I left Scars behind from my peers and the bullies. During my Journey, I didnt let the hardship of the scars succumb me from my dreams. When you dream~ you imagine. When you imagine ~ you are hoping for a result to happen. I imagined leaving my scars behind; so I could have a better mentality to deal with society emotionally. I imagined becoming a writer, for the World to admire my talents. I was on my own again at the tender age of twenty-two, when my foster/adopted Mother put me out her house, for having sexual relations with her son. I became scared forever from a love affair I wasnt supposed to be involved in. Scars Left Behind, were not only physically on my body; but also in my Heart and Soul. The will power to become a Survivor is a Purpose, I have within my Calling.
