Book excerpt: Remarkable stories of Orthodox Jews who accepted their Messiah even in the concentration camps of World War II Europe! Some of the most dramatic testimonies in print. Originally commissioned as an official biography of one of America’s oldest and finest missions to the Jews. MESHUMED! contains the dynamic stories of Orthodox Jews who accepted the Messiah. Persecutions followed each conversion. Vicious words like those above were were hurled at the new believers. They were ostracized by their families. Men were forced to flee for their lives, children were beaten, and wives were torn from their husbands. To be a follower of the Messiah cost something. Amidst the heartbreak and anguish of separation from family and friends, the vibrant faith of these Hebrew Christians radiated the love of Jesus. Read about their lives, be challenged by their perseverance, and be inspired to become a follower of Jesus—at any cost.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Around the world, including Israel, there are a growing number of adherents to Messianic Judaism. Messianic Jews form a religious group that believes Yeshua Hamashiach (the Hebrew name for Jesus the Messiah) is the true Messiah as known in Christianity and the New Testament. In Eternity with Yeshua Hamashiach we learn about the journey to an expanded faith of a dozen real-life Jews who embraced Yeshua, some only in their final days and hours. Already strong in their Jewish faith and practices, the men and women in these stories come to a better understanding of the place of faith in this life and in the hereafter. Some are open about their conjoined faith, while others are secret believers or not yet fully converted. While their stories are different, they have one thing in common: they all have a common heritage. They are Jewish individuals who have placed their faith in the Son of God. The engaging stories in Eternity with Yeshua Hamashiach will help those who want to understand their Jewish friends better and inform Jewish people who are thinking about Yeshua.

Book Synopsis From the Shtetl to America by : Joshua Rassen
Download or read book From the Shtetl to America written by Joshua Rassen and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2009 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE JACOB RASSEN STORY Jacob Rassen’s life (1905 – 1986) reflects much of the Jewish history of the twentieth century, from the last years of the Eastern European shtetl to modern America. His life was shaped by four wars: two “local” wars in Lithuania and the two world wars. As a young man, Jacob developed a passion for agronomy. He taught and wrote extensively. As an agronomist, he traveled to Denmark and Russia. He spent a year in Palestine, starting a school of agronomy in the early days of the kibbutz movement. Jacob remained in Europe during World War II. He survived the Dvinsk and Riga ghettos, concentration camps and a year as a partisan fighter. His first wife and two children were killed in 1943 as the Dvinsk ghetto was liquidated. In 1945, Jacob remarried and emigrated to the United States, where he started a new life and family. He lived mostly in Massachusetts and spent his last year in San Francisco. Jacob recorded a nine-hour narrative in 1986. The transcript captures his gift for storytelling, his passion for life, and his remarkable tale of survival.
