Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is an exegetical study of Matthew 27:25 conducted within the context of the Gospel of Matthew and the broader contexts of the Old and New Testaments. The purpose for this study is to dispel and disprove the traditional anti-Semitic meaning of Matthew 27:25 that has tragically led to the unwarranted condemnation of the Jewish people for the death of Jesus Christ. Hence, the particular focus of this book will directly address and answer the perennial, theological question that asks, "Does Matthew 27:25 mean and teach the Jews are altogether condemned by God for the crucifixion of Christ?" While it is true the Jewish nation, by and large, tragically rejected Jesus at His first coming, this in no way gives Christians theological license for the wholesale hatred, persecution, and destruction of the Jews, or for holding an anti-Semitic bias against them. No where in the New Testament Scriptures is it taught that the Jewish race--past, present, and future are condemned and morally indicted as "Christ killers" for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. This study is necessary to expose and correct the flawed interpretation of Matthew 27:25 that has historically persisted in Christendom and leads a person to build and develop an anti-Jewish theology. Factoring all this together, in a careful exegesis of Matthew 27, will manifestly demonstrate that the Jewish people are not guilty of deicide and therefore arbitrarily condemned by God as a race of "Christ killers." Quite the contrary.

But when you actually think about it, do you know why it’s important? Or why God chose it as the cornerstone of Christianity? In Covered by the Blood of Jesus author Rita Y. Jarrett shares the results of her research on the knowledge of the blood sacrifice of Jesus. His blood, still alive and active, is our way back to our original place and position with God. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book explores the antisemitic potential of Matthew’s Gospel in the Christian New Testament. It begins with a detailed discussion of the occasion of the text, before discussing key questions (Matthew’s fulfilment theology, and the use of polemic in the text). Three crucial texts are examined in detail. The book discusses the reverberations of the “blood cry,” arguing the deicide-focused interpretation of Matthew 27:25 is foundational to subsequent blood libels, which are also discussed. The final chapters explore how to preach from Matthew’s Gospel with Jewish people in mind, including offering sample sermons to stimulate the reader’s thinking about how they might teach from a controversial Matthean text in a way that denies the possibility of perpetuating Christian antisemitism. It will be of interest to students and scholars in religion and faith, Christianity, and interfaith studies.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If blood were money, then Jesus left this world penniless. For our sake and the will of his Father, Jesus completely emptied himself for the amassed debt of mankind. From the droplets of circumcision to the outpouring of blood and water upon the cross, Jesus gave all he had to give so we might share in his resurrection. Holy Scripture waits for our stillness before it speaks to us, for its great value and mysterious contents are hidden from the one who passes by quickly. For the one who sits with patience, it speaks volumes, revealing worth and fortune we did not know were possible. The Blood of the Lamb Catholic Bible Study creates an atmosphere for learning, reflecting and sharing. By blending Holy Scripture, Catechism and Liturgy with anecdotal stories, it strikes a refined balance to studying the Bible. Intentionally decide to snuggle closer to God, stretch yourself to use the gifts given to you and open your heart a bit wider. You will be amazed at the graces He wants to pour out to you, through the Blood of the Lamb. Scripture is best when it is memorable, useful, and fruitful.

Book excerpt: Not much is known about the Blood of Jesus today by Christians but it is a mighty arsenal weapon against the devil. There is life in the Blood of Jesus and none is in Satan. He is called Beelzebub, being interpreted; the lord of flies. Flies are attracted to dead things but the Blood of Jesus has life in it so the devil is repelled by it and cannot penetrate it. Many years ago, the word of God was revealed saying, "Make much of the Blood and the Blood will make much of you." For a while, Christians did make much of the Blood and as a result, many signs and wonders were seen. However, today there is not much that is said about the Blood. Has it lost its power? Certainly not, but we have lost knowledge of it and therefore, we haven't seen mighty acts of God as did the early disciples. But the time has come and now is for us to make full usage of this powerful weapon that God has given us. God's word does not change. What He said years ago, applies to us today and He said, "Make much of the Blood and the Blood will make much of you."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rev. Martins original plan was to preach through the Gospel of Matthew word by word, verse by verse; and to do so from a new, fresh translation from the original language. Preaching through the Gospel, with all of its references to other books of the Bible, and in its own history, is an ideal way for a preacher to give his people a thorough understanding of the inspired Scripture. It wasnt long before the idea of a huge sermonic commentary came up. And then came the idea of some interim books. This book is the fourth (and maybe the last) in the interim series. What will eventually come to pass, Lord willing, is a 3500 page commentary, with a new translation of the text, of the Gospel of Matthew. It will be published in (probably) six volumes. In the meantime this book, Abomination of Desolation, is published as a stand-alone book. The three previous ones are: The Beatitudes and the Lords Prayer, The Sermon On the Mount, and Jesus On Divorce. Abomination of Desolation is a thorough exegesis of chapters twenty-four and twenty-five of the Gospel of Matthew. It explicitly follows the text of what Jesus Christ told His disciples while on the Mount of Olives before His crucifixion.

Book excerpt: God has given the blood as a corresponding centrality and importance to spiritual life as He gave to physical life. Just as the physical attributes of blood include cleansing and detoxification so does its spiritual attributes include cleansing and atoning for sin! "No blood, no life". Our redemption was fully paid for at the cross. Do not be a fish in a barrel that the devil may pick up at will. It's time we rose to the challenges that life brings us by utilizing the powerful weapon given to us by Jesus ""His precious blood. The blood has the authority to quench and terminate all that looks unpleasant in our life lives. Remember that the blood speaks but will not be heard until we speak. If the blood must speak for us, we must first speak God's Word over our lives. When defeat stares you in the face, let faith arise in you and speak the word of God into that situation. We overcome by the blood of the lamb and by the word of our testimony. In this book you will learn and understand what the blood of Jesus is, and how to apply it for victorious living.

Book excerpt: The late preacher W. A. Criswell used to preach a series of sermons called the Scarlet Thread through the Bible. Cut the Bible open at any verse, and it will bleed Christ. Christ IS the Word of God! Studying a book written by an infinitely wise God having an infinite number of personal applications, the study of the trail of blood could be taken through a host of different trails. To pursue just one trail is a monumental task. The verses examined in this booklet will only be representative because every book of the Bible contains Christ, often in a multitude of ways. Some might say, 'I know that Christ is revealed in the Scriptures. What is the purpose of this booklet?' Jesus Christ took time to expound the Scriptures concerning Himself. On the road to Emmaus we see Christ preaching and teaching. "And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself." Jesus began in Genesis and taught through the Old Testament the Scriptures concerning Himself. May the reader say with the men whom Jesus taught that day, "And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?" May the reader want to experience heart burn like those men did that day.
