Book excerpt: A book beloved by Mother Teresa, by Blessed Gabriel Allegra, one of the most famous 20thcentury biblical exegetes, and by Blessed María Inés Teresa Arias, Maria Valtorta's Poem of the Man-God has been increasingly treasured by hundreds of thousands. Some have called Valtorta the greatest Italian author of the 20thcentury. The testimonies of these three saints and groundbreaking analysis by Fr. Anthony Pillari, J.C.L., begins "lifting the veil" to reveal this hidden treasure. "When in the 1980's I commenced reading The Poem of the Man-God, I was cautioned by overscrupulous well-wishers concerned for my spiritual welfare against reading a book which had been placed on the Index of Forbidden books. Father Anthony Pillari in Maria Valtorta's Life of Christ has banished for good and all any lingering doubts as to the orthodoxy of her visions and writings." -Cardinal Thomas Williams, Archbishop Emeritus of Wellington, New Zealand "Fr. Anthony Pillari and Stephen Austin deserve to be commended for this precious work which will, God willing, open up for the Church the great treasure that isThe Poem of the Man-God. Valtorta's great work, like St. Louis de Montfort's priceless True Devotion to Mary, has been a hidden treasure at times despised and rejected even by those in the Church. With the witness of these saints who have profited from Valtorta's incredible insights into the life of Christ, may the whole Church awaken to the riches of an intimate knowledge of the life and times of Our Lord." -John-Henry Westen, Editor in Chief and Co-Founder of LifeSiteNews "Fr. Pillari and Stephen Austin's text on The Poem of the Man-God makes clear the canonical legitimacy for all faithful Catholics to read and appreciate this great mystical work. The positive spiritual discernment of St. Teresa of Calcutta and other recently declared 'Blesseds' of the Church testify to its inspiring and authentic contents. The sublime Mariological theme of Mary as the 'Co-redemptrix' with and under Jesus, the divine Redeemer, accurately embodies the best and richest Mariology of the last millennium. Rather than a threat to Scripture reading, The Poem makes the superior Word of God come alive and move souls to repentance, conversion, and peace. "The time has come for the Poem of the Man-God to be universally appreciated as the contemporary mystical classic that it is. Thank you, Fr. Pillari and Stephen Austin for this outstanding articulation and defense of the pearls of The Poem for today." -- Dr. Mark Miravalle St. John Paul II Chair of Mariology Franciscan University of Steubenville President, International Marian Association

Book excerpt: On 23 April 1943, Good Friday, Maria Valtorta reported hearing the voice of Jesus. From then until 1951 she produced over 15,000 handwritten pages in 122 notebooks, mostly detailing the life of Jesus as an extension of the gospels. Her handwritten notebooks containing close to 700 reputed episodes in the life of Jesus were typed on separate pages by her priest and reassembled, given that they had no temporal order, and became the basis of her 5,000-page book The Poem of the Man God.

Book excerpt: THE GREATEST ST0RY ever told is of course the Bible. The Bible describes the relationship between God and His people. As Christians we believe the Bible culminates in the person of Jesus Christ, the God Man. In Jesus we plainly see God at work among us. The Gospels tell us of Jesus birth and mighty works. Although the Scriptures contain all knowledge needed for our salvation, we read in the end of Johns Gospel that there are many other things to tell of Jesus and that the world may not be big enough to hold all that may be written. I for one certainly would be curious to have read some of these other tales of Our Lord. In Agnus Dei by Roger Schoenecker we are given that opportunity! Here we have the means to read in a consolidated form the writings of Maria Valtorta, The Poem of the Man God. This mystical work tells the untold stories of Jesus in five volumes. For many people, such a large piece of work would seem intimidating. Although I would encourage anyone who could to read these five volumes, for those who cannot, Rogers single volume puts succinctly the essence of Marias works. Agnus Dei has been a blessing to me in my own spiritual life, helping me to have a deeper understanding of the Scriptures in particular of the lives of the disciples and of our Blessed Mother Mary. I cannot tell how important that was for me. It has deepened my interest in the Gospels and in reading the five volume work of Maria Valtorta. I highly encourage all Christians to read this wonderful book. Fr. Steven A. Kunkel, Pastor, Christ the King Church, Mesa, Arizona>

Book excerpt: His Roman-Catholic faith has been an enduring part of the life and personality of William Buckley, Jr. Now, for the first time since his ground breaking God and the Man at Yale he has written a book about faith--his own. Nearer, My God, An Autobiography of Faith is William Buckley's superbly written story of his life seen through his abiding love for the Catholic Church, a love instilled in him from childhood. He reminisces about his school days in England, his family, the affect the Lunn/Knox dialogue had on him, and examines many aspects of Catholicism and its theology, doctrine and liturgy and on the way discourses about Lourdes, the vernacular mass, the Church and the State, the Crucifixion, the priesthood, contraception as well as the many people who have assisted him on his life's journey. A remarkable, revealing book about one man and his faith.

Book excerpt: The main work among Maria Valtorta's writings is entitled "The Gospel As Revealed to Me." The original language was Italian and has been published in ten volumes . It narrates, in a form of "vision," the birth and childhood of Mary and her Son Jesus ->the three years of Jesus' public life ->His passion, death, resurrection, and ascension ->the beginnings of the Church ->and the assumption of Mary, as if one is watching a movie. In 1944-1947, the author, Maria Valtorta, received the revelation directly from Jesus Christ Himself, which enabled her to "see" the gospel in vision. Jesus asked her to write down everything she "saw" in details, so that the world may read it and hence understand the gospel in content. Up to the moment, the Italian masterpiece has been translated into more than 20 languages. And this Chinese version is one of them. Now, let's see what the outstanding personalities of the church said about: The contemporary Pope Pius XII said on 1984 February 26: "Publish this work as it is. There is no need to give an opinion about its origin, whether it be extraordinary or not. Who reads it will understand." Renowned Bible Scholar, the Blessed Fr. Gabriel M. Allegra, a Franciscan missionary who is highly revered by Chinese Catholics for being the very first to translate the entire Catholic Bible into Chinese, was beatified on September 29, 2012 by Pope John Paul II, said: "The finger of God is here." Saint Padre Pio da Pietralcina said to a spiritual daughter, Elisa Lucchi, about Valtorta's writings. "I don't advise you ---I "order" you to read them." Fr. Gabriel Roschini, a distinguished Mariologist and professor, who himself has written 130 books on the topic, humbly said: "even if I put all my writings together, is still inferior to that of Valtorta's in terms of vividness. Book excerpt: Written between the years 1944 and 1947 by the visionary Maria Valtorta, The Poem of the Man-God (recently retitled in its original Italian to "The Gospel As Revealed to Me") is considered one of the greatest works of private revelation to date. Penned in the same style as Ven. Anne Catherine Emmerich and Ven. Mary of Agreda, this work brings a level of detail and intimacy not found in the former's writings. Although it reads as a novel, it is regarded by many as one of the greatest "commentaries" on Scripture in history, expounding upon many areas of the New Testament that has, at present, remained unexplored or obscure. Most strikingly, it reveals the personalities of Jesus and His Apostles in awe-inspiring detail, and leaves the reader with a greater sense of love and closeness to the second Person of the Holy Trinity. In point of fact, this book moved Mother Teresa so much that she carried with her for spiritual reading, and recommended it, on numerous occasions, to those who asked about it. And when the children of Medjugorje asked Mary what She thought of the book, She said it was the "truth" and to "read it if a person wants to know Jesus." Despite its controversial history with certain Vatican officials, in the final analysis, the verbal approval by pope Pius XII is more than sufficient for Catholics to read it in good conscience. For those who desire to know Jesus Christ in a more intimate and personal way, there is little else that compares to this work. Book excerpt: A book that gives a profound explanation of how one can relate with the Immaculate by means of "the Marian Vow" of total consecration to the Immaculate that is transformative and life-changing. This book is a treatise on total consecration to the Immaculate, conceived initially by St. Maximilian M. Kolbe and has developed into the distinctive charism of the Franciscans of the Immaculate. Such charism finds its consummation in the profession of this Marian consecration in the form of a religious vow, known as, "The Marian Vow." Finding its original inspiration in St. Maximilian Kolbe who envisioned of a "fourth vow" of consecration that puts no limit to the missionary work of the religious, Fr. Stefano Manelli, the founder of the Franciscans of the Immaculate continued with the same inspiration and develop it to include both Marian and missionary character. This book is the theological and ascetical explanation of this Marian Vow. The book is not, by all means, exclusive to the Franciscans of the Immaculate. One can find universal insights based on solid spiritual theology of how one can relate in a more personal way with the Immaculate who ceases to be just a mere figure of veneration; she becomes alive and present to one's soul in a unique way that is transformative and life-changing. This book is utterly unique and inspired. As the Founder and Father General of the entire family of the Franciscans of the Immaculate (Friars, Sisters, Poor Clares, Tertiaries, and M.I.M.), Fr. Stefano has distilled, and put into writing for his children, the illumination he has received about the Marian Vow over the past decades. This work is the fruit of his life of prayer, study, and missionary activity. It is the fruit of his profound union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

This book was released on 2013-11-10 with total page 799 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Known for his previous best selling Catholic books such as, The Splendor of Creation and Proper Catholic Perspectives, Rev. Dr. Joseph L. Iannuzzi's long awaited book, The Gift of Living in the Divine Will in the Writings of Luisa Piccarreta, is finally available. Iannuzzi's thoroughly documented and highly researched account of Piccarreta's life is unparalleled in its scope and depth, and is the definitive work of the life and writings of Luisa Piccarreta. Born in 1865 in Corato, Italy, Luisa Piccarreta began receiving revelations at age 12 and was called by God to become a victim soul. At a very tender age God spoke to her about a gift he wishes to bestow upon the world that will set it free and inaugurate an Era of World Peace. God refers to this gift as “Living in the Divine Will”, for it is through an act of God’s will that the earth will be made pure and mankind will become holy. Just as God the Father created the world, and the Son of God redeemed it, so the Holy Spirit will sanctify it through the outpouring of this gift. According to Luisa’s revelations, although God created us without us, he cannot save us without us. Therefore, he reveals himself to Luisa so that through her, we may come to know the loving gift he has prepared for us – the gift that will restore us to the holiness that Adam and Even enjoyed in Eden, and that will set all creation free. St. Paul affirms that “all creation groans with eager longings, waiting to be set free from its slavery to corruption and enjoy the glorious freedom of the sons of God,” and God tells Luisa that those who live in the Divine Will will be those sons of God who set creation free. This book is divided into 7 chapters. Chapter 1 presents a biographical sketch of Luisa’s life; Chapters 2-4 explore the importance of the gift of Living in the Divine Will; Chapters 5-7 compare this gift to the Church’s Eastern and Western traditions. Because this book bears the ecclesiastical “seal of approval” of the Pontifical University of Rome that is authorized by the Holy See, it enjoys a particular status that ensures sound doctrinal content for the Christian faithful. If you are familiar with the extraordinary life of Luisa Piccarreta, then this book will truly bring you deeper into her life and the gift of the “Divine Will”. If you are not, then you are truly in for a special and extraordinary experience that will change your life. It is a story perhaps unparalleled in the history of mystical theology, written by whom many consider the Church’s most authoritative person on the subject.
