Book excerpt: Not long ago, those who wrote about the “end-time” were preachers—the more fundamentalist, the more extreme by some standards. “The end is coming soon,” they said, and cartoons were rampant with guys carrying placards captioned by “The End is Near!” From the time of Christ, whose noncritical predictions included such inspiration for the placards, the religious prophets could not resist emphasis on such topics. Today things are different. The “scientists” and “politicians” make the predictions. “Twelve More Years” is what we hear from the latter. But they don’t attack with religious terms. They speak of time in the context of “climate change” and “global warming.” They do not agree on how to interpret the evidence, but the religionists also had trouble with agreement. Strange interpretations of biblical texts have now gone the way of so-called science. Various elucidations carry one thing in common: none gain consensus. Some arguments enter discussions by censuring those who disagree with them. Their opponents are not allowed to speak. They must remain silent. They are called nasty names, and unfair methods are used to punish them. They try to stop the incongruous from speaking at all. Living in the “end-time” demonstrates the conflict between good and evil.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does Bible prophecy tell us about the time of the end? Are we living in the end time? When will be the end of the world? For thousands of years people have been fascinated with predictions of the end of the world. If we look into the inspired writings of the biblical prophets and apostles, we find many prophecies that refer to the time of the end. Should we take them seriously? Are world conditions such that these prophecies could be fulfilled in our day? Jesus Christ Himself talked of a future time so horrendous that no human lives would be spared "unless those days were shortened" (Matthew 24:22). Did He have our time in mind? Many biblical warnings leave us in no doubt that increasingly cataclysmic events will occur before God's direct intervention in human affairs. These terrifying prophecies will see their fulfillment at some future time. The crucial question is when. This eye-opening Bible study aid booklet, Are We Living in the Time of the End?, examines exactly what Jesus, His apostles and the biblical prophets really said about the intriguing days they referred to as the time of the end. You need this vital information! Chapters in this ebook: -- Are We Living in the Time of the End? -- What Is the Time of the End? -- A World in Perpetual Crisis -- Noah and Our Time: A Sobering Parallel -- The End of the Age -- The Time of the End: The End of What? -- Biblical Terms for the Coming End of Man's Age -- Jesus Christ's Olivet Prophecy: Where Are We Now? -- Did Jesus Christ Foretell Devastating Storms? -- 'This Generation Will Not Pass' -- The End Time in the Book of Revelation -- The Population Explosion and Prophecy -- God's Framework for End-Time Prophecy -- Preparing for the End Time -- What Can You Do? Inside this Bible Study Aid ebook: "But we should remember that Jesus made it clear that no one could know the exact time of His return: "… Of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only" (Matthew 24:36)." "Some think the subject of the end time in the Bible is mainly confined to the New Testament. But beginning in Genesis, the first book of the Bible, the Scriptures look beyond our present evil age to the time of the establishing of God's Kingdom. Old Testament scriptures have much to say about events that take place during the end of this age and the following "world to come."" "When Scripture mentions "the time of the end" or "the end of the age," it is referring to the coming end of the present evil age. This age—in reality the age of Satan—will draw to an end, replaced by the age of God's rule over and guidance of all of humanity." "Revelation is a book written to reveal the future, and Jesus Christ is the One who does the revealing...Here is the theme of Revelation—the time of the end of the age and the return of Jesus Christ to establish God's Kingdom on earth." "How should we view prophecy? Can it provide spiritual benefits? The apostle Peter mentioned that prophecy should serve to strengthen our hope and faith in the future (2 Peter 1:19)."

Book Synopsis Liberating the Terminal Generation by : Thomas Ray Cleghorn
Download or read book Liberating the Terminal Generation written by Thomas Ray Cleghorn and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-07-23 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All Christians realize the tremendous impact the first century events of Jesus' birth through His Resurrection and Ascension have on our lives today. But few realize that a set of events he prophesied, which occurred 40 years later, also have a great impact on us today in the 21st century. A lack of understanding of these fulfilled prophecies that both Jesus and John foretold, not only affect our attitude about life now, but can determine how we view and prepare for our future. These prophecies by Jesus, their fulfillment and their affect on us in our day are all detailed in, "Liberating The Terminal Generation" I wrote this book for those whom the doomsayers have erroneously labeled the "Terminal Generation." You are not the terminal generation, you have a future and a hope. God placed you on this earth for a reason and that reason is not to waste your time here anticipating the end of the world. This book gives us clear insight into Paul the Apostle's explanation of exactly when the end of the world and its systems do actually occur. (The answer may surprise you.) It encourages the Church to be done with a Chicken Little mentality and get on with the process of living productive Christian lives. Everyone realizes that since we have only one life to live on this earth, we should make the most of it and enjoy it to the fullest. Jesus made that possible and even said that he gave us abundant life so that we could enjoy it while fulfilling our God-given destiny. Yet many Christians live in fear, dreading the events we have understood were prophesied to occur just before his return. Modern Christians have badly misunderstood these prophecies and let that misunderstanding kill our joy and stall the advancement of his kingdom on earth. The Bible does not speak of gloom and doom for Christians but a victorious future. Blood moons are not an indication that the end is upon us and the sky is not falling. According to biblical truths plainly stated in the Word, we will not be checking out any time soon so lets make the best of it. Liberating The Terminal Generation was written specifically for those who have a desire to know the truth about the end time, regardless of their knowledge or lack of knowledge of theological concepts and eschatology. The revelation you will discover in this book will help you to regain that joy that Jesus provided and free you to become the child of God that Jesus decreed you could be. When you begin to grasp the truth of what Jesus prophesied, you will begin to live a life free from fear and enjoy more fully, the abundant Christian life he gave us. You will truly be liberated from the unscriptural terminal generation mentality that so pervades modern religious thinking. This book may challenge your "end time" theories a bit, but it will also make you more aware of the absolute accuracy of biblical prophecy. You are about to gain a much clearer view of the Bible as a whole and of Jesus' Olivet prophesies in particular. You will better understand the intended purpose for the Book of Revelations and why it is so difficult for us to understand. You will no longer need to speculate about who the Antichrist may be or when the tribulation period will begin. Instead you will be able to look forward to the future with the joy and anticipation that all Born Again Christians should enjoy. As you read this book, and as you begin to see Scripture from the perspective of a first century Christian, my desire is that you gain a clear perception of the truth of the end of the age as the Bible portrays it. So grab your Bible, open your heart and your mind and hang on.

Download or read book The Lamb's Supper written by Scott Hahn and published by Image. This book was released on 2002-06-18 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As seen on EWTN, bestselling author Scott Hahn unveils the mysteries of the Mass, offering readers a deeper appreciation of the most familiar of Catholic rituals. Of all things Catholic, there is nothing that is so familiar as the Mass. With its unchanging prayers, the Mass fits Catholics like their favorite clothes. Yet most Catholics sitting in the pews on Sundays fail to see the powerful supernatural drama that enfolds them. Pope John Paul II described the Mass as "Heaven on Earth," explaining that what "we celebrate on Earth is a mysterious participation in the heavenly liturgy." The Lamb’s Supper reveals a long-lost secret of the Church: The early Christians' key to understanding the mysteries of the Mass was the New Testament Book of Revelation. With its bizarre imagery, its mystic visions of heaven, and its end-of-time prophecies, Revelation mirrors the sacrifice and celebration of the Eucharist. Beautifully written, in clear direct language, bestselling Catholic author Scott Hahn's new book will help readers see the Mass with new eyes, pray the liturgy with a renewed heart, and enter into the Mass more fully, enthusiastically, intelligently, and powerfully than ever before.
