Aujourd’hui, son action ne doit plus se limiter à une simple dispensation. Le cancer du sein représente le premier cancer féminin et est à l'origine chaque année de 58 000 nouveaux cas. Au cours de sa vie, une femme sur huit est touchée par le cancer du sein. Diagnostiqué à un stade précoce, le cancer du sein est un cancer de bon pronostic. La survie à 5 ans est de 87%, d'où l'intérêt majeur d'un suivi régulier avec la réalisation d'une mammographie de dépistage tous les 2 ans. L'objectif de la thèse est de prendre connaissance, dans un premier temps, de l'aspect théorique du cancer du sein, à savoir les différents types de cancer, l'origine de ces derniers, les étapes majeures du diagnostic du cancer du sein ainsi que les traitements. La seconde partie de la thèse est davantage axée sur l'accompagnement de la patiente par le pharmacien d'officine. En effet, ces dernières années, un véritable virage ambulatoire a eu lieu : les traitements oncologiques conventionnels sont progressivement remplacés par les thérapies ciblées orales. Malgré les nombreux avantages de la voie orale, de nouvelles problématiques relatives à l'observance, au bon usage du médicament, à la gestion des oublis et des effets secondaires se développent. Cette partie est consacrée à l'étude des différents soins de support qu'il est possible de proposer, en tant que pharmacien d'officine, à la patiente atteinte d'un cancer du sein en vue d'améliorer son confort et sa qualité de vie.
