Ces dernières années, des dispositifs de contrôle ont été commercialisés dans le but de conduire en routine ces contrôles de fonctionnalité et de répondre à cette exigence des bonnes pratiques. L'objectif de l'étude réalisée à la stérilisation centrale des Hospices Civils de Lyon est d'évaluer et de comparer les dispositifs à ce jour disponibles sur le marché. Les résultats obtenus montrent que seuls certains sont adaptés à des contrôles de routine et permettent de s'affranchir de la part de subjectivité liée à l'opérateur. D'autres permettent une confirmation du diagnostic établi sur la simple vision. Cette évaluation a permis de proposer des protocoles de contrôles fonctionnels à conduire sur les optiques et câbles de lumière ainsi que des arbres décisionnels clairs pour assurer une prise en charge optimale de ces dispositifs
