This book was released on 2013-09-11 with total page 667 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally published in 1940, this book was addressed to students of the psychology of childhood and to parents and teachers who were trying to get from psychology some light on problems of discipline and of the difficult child. It includes critical discussions of some ideas which were gaining widespread attention at the time and which masqueraded as sound psychology, but which seem to be both untrue and harmful. Topics dealt with include: fads and fallacies about discipline, repression and the inferiority complex, the supposed significance of sex in early childhood, early signs of abnormality, inborn individual differences, heredity and environment, are there "no problem children, only problem parents"?, is character determined by the early years?, the nursery school and the child guidance clinic, home discipline and the cooperation of parents, fallacies about corporal punishment.
Download or read book La psychiatrie de l'enfant et de l'adolescent expliquée aux parents written by Jacques Maillet and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Les enfants instables : entre Ravage et Saccage written by Gilbert Levet and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page 586 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Mary F. Cleugh on Teaching Children with Learning Differences written by Mary Frances Cleugh and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2022-07-30 with total page 928 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dr Mary Frances Cleugh (1913-1986) was a philosopher and educationalist. She worked for many years at the University of London Institute of Education, where she led a 1-year course for teachers of ESN children. Originally published in 1961, the three volumes of this work, which at the time took their place as complete and up-to-date guides to the subjects they cover, were written by former students, now practicing teachers, who had passed through the Institute’s course. The volumes, each in a different setting, cover every part of the curriculum from the point of view of the 'slow' learner. These books are re-issues originally published in 1961. The language used is a reflection of its era and no offence is meant by the Publishers to any reader by this re-publication.
Book Synopsis The Myth of the Queer Criminal by : Jeffery P Dennis
Download or read book The Myth of the Queer Criminal written by Jeffery P Dennis and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-10-19 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Myth of the Queer Criminal documents over a century of writings by sociologists, psychologists, criminologists, and forensic scientists, in Europe and the United States, who asserted that LGBT persons were innately and uniquely criminal. Applying the tools of narratology and queer theory, Jeffery P. Dennis examines the ten types of queer criminal that have appeared in seminal texts, both literary and scientific, over the past 140 years - beginning with Lombroso's Criminal Man (1876) and extending to postmodern criminologists and contemporary textbooks. Each type is named after its defining characteristic. The pederast, for example, was believed to be a master-criminal, leading vast criminal empires. The degenerate, intellectually and morally corrupted, was perceived as a symptom or cause of societal decay. The silly, lisping pansy was a figure of ridicule, rather than of dread. The traitor was murderous and depraved, prepared to destroy democratic institutions worldwide. The book aims to contextualize this mythology, revealing the motivations of the agents behind it, the influence of broader preoccupations and anxieties of the age, and its societal, political and cultural impact. This carefully researched, meticulously written history of the queer criminal will be of interest to students and researchers in criminology, gender studies, queer studies, and the history of sexuality.
