Book Synopsis Didactique des langues anciennes by : Dominique Jottreau-Augé
Download or read book Didactique des langues anciennes written by Dominique Jottreau-Augé and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 834 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis La langue française by : Anatole Mbanga
Download or read book La langue française written by Anatole Mbanga and published by Editions L'Harmattan. This book was released on 2022-09-09 with total page 227 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Multilingualism and Education by : Gail Prasad
Download or read book Multilingualism and Education written by Gail Prasad and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2022-06-09 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For decades, international researchers and educators have sought to understand how to address cultural and linguistic diversity in education. This book offers the keys to doing so: it brings together short biographies of thirty-six scholars, representing a wide range of universities and countries, to allow them to reflect on their own personal life paths, and how their individual life experiences have led to and informed their research. This approach highlights how theories and concepts have evolved in different contexts, while opening up pedagogical possibilities from diverse backgrounds and enriched by the life experiences of leading researchers in the field. Beyond these questions, the book also explores the dynamic relationships between languages, power and identities, as well as how these relationships raise broader societal issues that permeate both global and local language practices. It is essential reading for students, teacher educators, and researchers interested in the impact of multilingualism on education.

Book Synopsis Languaging Diversity Volume 3 by : Elena Di Giovanni
Download or read book Languaging Diversity Volume 3 written by Elena Di Giovanni and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2018-07-27 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Languages, diversity and power: these are the concepts running through all chapters in this volume. Rooted in linguistics, translation studies and literary studies, often informed by cultural and political studies, postcolonial theory and history, the contributions here tackle the thorny issue of power relations as expressed, enforced, dismissed through the use of language(s). From the British press, to power relations as represented in TV series set in courtrooms, and from language-power intersections in the translation of Italian post-war cinema to power enforcement through film-making in Africa, the volume spans decades and continents, providing in-depth analyses of a host of contexts, facts, actions. As such, it will be of particular interest to scholars and students in linguistics, translation and cultural studies.

Book excerpt: This book explores the problematic relationship between education, social justice and the State, against the background of comparative education research. Book Synopsis Langue(s) et littérature de jeunesse by : Britta Benert
Download or read book Langue(s) et littérature de jeunesse written by Britta Benert and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2019-12 with total page 301 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Training Foreign and Second Language Teachers by : Carmen Avram
Download or read book Training Foreign and Second Language Teachers written by Carmen Avram and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2016-06-22 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a comparative perspective on foreign language teacher training in France, Germany, Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. The training process of state secondary school foreign language teachers is considered from two perspectives for each country. The current training routes through which necessary teaching qualifications are obtained are described with respect to national policy for foreign language learning, the nature of providers, and training programme organization and contents, with details of any practice. These descriptive dimensions are accompanied by an evaluation of the degree to which the training fits the purpose of teaching foreign languages in state secondary schools. The descriptive and evaluative approaches to FL teacher training provide a novel overview of the current successes and challenges in the field, giving an understanding of terrains not easily accessible to the general English-language readership. The book highlights elements of good practice found across nations, and contributes to shedding light on the enduring mystery of why certain nations seem to be managing multilingualism better than others. As such, it provides a reference for interdisciplinary discussions between applied linguists, education researchers and practitioners, and policymakers.
Book Synopsis Teacher Education in the 21st Century by : Antje-Marianne Kolde
Download or read book Teacher Education in the 21st Century written by Antje-Marianne Kolde and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2016-08-17 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How can teacher education prepare future teachers for their work in increasingly diverse classrooms? How does the concept of plurilingualism inform language educational policy in different countries? What are the current opportunities and challenges in the domain of internationalisation in teacher education? The contributions to this volume address these questions from different theoretical perspectives, and with a strong emphasis on the actual practices in various classrooms. At a time when simplistic, essentialist, biased, and discriminatory ideologies and practices see a rebirth in public discourse, and represent a risk to education, the contributors here take stock and describe some worthwhile alternatives. The first set of chapters addresses the integration of ethnic, religious, and gender diversity in teacher education colleges. In the second part, the notion of plurilingualism in different educational contexts is explored from a critical sociolinguistic point of view. The chapters in the third part present evidence from innovative international academic exchange programs and how they contribute to socio-spatial learning amongst others. The common denominator in this volume is the notion of convergence – the coexistence of people and practices in diverse contexts.

Book Synopsis A Theoretical Framework for Language Education and Teaching by : Paolo E. Balboni
Download or read book A Theoretical Framework for Language Education and Teaching written by Paolo E. Balboni and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2018-07-26 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Educational linguistics is transcultural, with research in the field adopting an international scope. Educational systems, on the contrary, are culture-bound. As a consequence, actual teaching differs across countries, and sometimes even among provinces, local educational authorities, and schools. However, a globalized world needs to share the various meanings of “knowing a language” and “teaching a language”, as language is the main factor of both cultural identity and national and international interaction. The framework offered here is built on eight “hypotheses”, logical models that provide the potential common core of a non-culture-bound theory of language education and of language teaching. The book thus suggests a common terminology, some common principles, and a basic paradigm to be shared in both theoretical and practical research in edu-linguistics, consequently going beyond the borders implied by such titles as European framework, American standards, and Chinese guidelines.
