El objetivo de esta investigación es: Proponer fundamentos teóricos y metodológicos para un enfoque de la gestión de la cultura organizacional en las Sedes Universitarias Municipales.Como resultados de esta investigación se ha obtenido un enfoque de gestión cultural desde dos dimensiones: la dimensión teórica en la que se delimitan los fundamentos y enfoques apropiados para la gestión cultural y la dimensión metodológica que incluyen fundamentos metodológicos generales, las categorías y procedimientos para la caracterización cultural en estas organizaciones y las orientaciones para el proyecto de mejoramiento cultural. En el aspecto práctico, la caracterización de la cultura organizacional de las SUM de Playa y Marianao, permite una nueva perspectiva, holística y participativa de su enfoque de gestión. A la vez que aborda un tema poco explorado en la literatura científica de nuestro país por lo que la sistematización teórica puede ser utilizada en la docencia de esta especialidad.

In doing so, they generated considerable innovation, which reinforced the integration of the research and outreach functions of the university. The evidence suggests that universities are indeed open systems, in interaction with their environment, able to discover changes that can influence them and to change in response to those changes. They are also able, in the success of their efforts to mitigate the educational impact of the pandemic, to create better futures, as the result of the innovations they can generate. This challenges the view of universities as "ivory towers" being isolated from the surrounding environment and detached from local problems. As they reached out to schools, universities not only generated clear and valuable innovations to sustain educational opportunity and to improve it, this process also contributed to transform internal university processes in ways that enhanced their own ability to deliver on the third mission of outreach

Book excerpt: On a mountainside in sunny Tuscany, in October 1989, 96 people from 23 countries on five continents gathered to learn and teach about the problems of managing contemporary science. The diversity of economic and political systems represented in the group was matched by our occupations, which stretched from science policy practitioners, through research scientists and engineers, through academic observers of science and science policy. It was this diversity, along with the opportunities for infonnal discussion provided by long meals and remote location, that made the conference a special learning experience. Except at lecture time, it was impossible to distinguish the "students" at this event from the "teachers," and even the most senior members of the teaching staff went away with a sense that they had learned more from this group than from many a standard conference on science policy they had attended. The flavor of the conference experience cannot be captured adequately in a proceedings volume, and so we have not tried to create a historical record in this book. Instead, we have attempted to illustrate the core problems the panicipants at the conference shared, discussed, and debated, using both lectures delivered by the fonnal teaching staff and summaries of panel discussions, which extended to other panicipants and therefore increased the range of experiences reponed.
