It discusses and analyzes a range of basic terms and concepts, procedures, and international standards concerning the Tendering Process, as well as the contents of ITTs, which should represent the translation of information needs into requirements related to: the client’s goals, main categories of information to deal with, expected organization of information, modalities of reporting and control, and level of knowledge to be reached. A further major focus is on potential key innovation scenarios concerning current FM practice, such as Sustainable Procurement, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Big Data and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, highlighting both the possible benefits and the possible risks and implications that could negatively affect the quality of FM service provision if not properly treated within the ITT. Book Synopsis The New Acropolis Museum by : Dēmētrios Pantermalēs
Download or read book The New Acropolis Museum written by Dēmētrios Pantermalēs and published by Skira Rizzoli. This book was released on 2009-09-29 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive look at the eagerly anticipated New Acropolis Museum in Athens, Greece, and the celebrated collection it houses. Marking the opening of the New Acropolis Museum, this book examines both its architecture and the archaeological treasures it was built to house. The building addresses the dramatic complexities of the collection and the site with minimalist simplicity by using three main materials—glass, stainless steel, and concrete. "There’s no way at the beginning of the twenty-first century you can try to imitate even superficially the art of 2,500 years ago," Tschumi says. The "precision of the concept was really what counted." The book provides an in-depth look at the creation of the building, set only 280 meters from the Parthenon, as well as the restoration, preservation, and housing of its exhibits through over 200 photographs, drawings, and texts.

Book Synopsis The Catholic Church and Power Politics in Latin America by : Emelio Betances
Download or read book The Catholic Church and Power Politics in Latin America written by Emelio Betances and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2007 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Click here to see a video interview with Emelio Betances. Click here to access the tables referenced in the book. Since the 1960s, the Catholic Church has acted as a mediator during social and political change in many Latin American countries, especially the Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and El Salvador. Although the Catholic clergy was called in during political crises in all five countries, the situation in the Dominican Republic was especially notable because the Church's role as mediator was eventually institutionalized. Because the Dominican state was persistently weak, the Church was able to secure the support of the Balaguer regime (1966-1978) and ensure social and political cohesion and stability. Emelio Betances analyzes the particular circumstances that allowed the Church in the Dominican Republic to accommodate the political and social establishment; the Church offered non-partisan political mediation, rebuilt its ties with the lower echelons of society, and responded to the challenges of the evangelical movement. The author's historical examination of church-state relations in the Dominican Republic leads to important regional comparisons that broaden our understanding of the Catholic Church in the whole of Latin America.
