Se ofrece una visión general de los cambios técnicos y socioculturales que dan lugar a una nueva sociedad, la denominada Sociedad del Conocimiento, y una descripción sin pretensión de exhaustividad, de la muy variada y novedosa temática técnica y relacional que incorpora.
