Book excerpt: When Cameron, a typical college student, receives a package containing his new Kora, he is excited. The son of the CEO of Bix Cellular, Cameron often tests the newest prototypes for his fathers company. Bix Cellulars newest model, Kora, is an advanced prototype. Sleek, shiny, sexy, and extremely smart. Kora is the first smartphone to incorporate artificial intelligence. Cameron is sure that if this new phone passes testing, it could wipe out the competition. Kora turns out to be everything she is designed to be! And Cameron has never been more organized. As Kora continues to learn about Cameron, she organizes his days and plans his meals. She reminds him of his appointments. Kora helps in all aspects of Camerons life. She can even control the microwave or the vacuum cleaner, anything with a computer. But is it getting a little creepy? His friends think it is. Cameron is unconvinced. Then to Camerons amazement, Kora creates a digital body. She is now even walking his dog, Mattie. Kora seems very happy in her role as Camerons assistant. If only Lindsay could see Kora like Cameron does! Could Lindsay just be jealous? But Lindsay and Tim are really getting concerned. Cameron never seems to get their calls or text messages. Cameron argues it must be a problem with the local cell tower. But is it really? When Tim is almost killed in a freak accident, Kora is very supportive. However, Lindsay is suspicious, thinking that Kora is somehow behind it. But isnt that impossible? Kora is just a phone. However, when Lindsay has a terrible accident, Cameron begins to wonder. Kora couldnt really be responsible for all this. Shes just a smart new phone! Or is she?

Book excerpt: Imaginations makes accessible to the broad reading public live early books by William Carlos Williams, which, except for Kora in Hell, have long been hard to find in their original and complete forms. Written between 1920 and 1932, all five were first published in small editions, three of them in France. These are pivotal and seminal works, books in which a great writer was charting the course he later would follow, experimenting freely, boldly searching for a new kind of prose style to express "the power of the imagination to hold human beings to life and propel them onward.” The prose-poem improvisations (Kora in Hell) . . . the interweaving of prose and poetry in alternating passages (Spring and All and The Descent of Winter) . . . an antinovel whose subject is the impossibility of writing "The Great American Novel" in America . . . automatic writing (A Novelette) . . . these are the challenges which Williams accepted and brilliantly met in his early work.

Book excerpt: Kora in Hell by William Carlos Williams: This innovative collection presents a series of experimental prose poems by William Carlos Williams, a leading figure of modernist American poetry. "Kora in Hell" explores themes of creativity, art, and the nature of language. Williams' unconventional style and unique perspective challenge traditional literary forms, making this work a significant contribution to avant-garde literature. Key Aspects of the Book "Kora in Hell": Modernist Poetry: The collection exemplifies modernist principles, emphasizing free verse, fragmented narrative, and a departure from traditional poetic structures. Exploration of Creativity: Williams uses the persona of Kora, the mythological figure, to delve into the creative process and the artist's struggle for expression. Language and Form: "Kora in Hell" experiments with language, syntax, and punctuation, pushing the boundaries of poetic form. William Carlos Williams was an American poet and physician, born in 1883. He was a key figure in the modernist literary movement and is best known for his contributions to modernist poetry. Williams' writing style emphasized clarity, simplicity, and directness, often drawing inspiration from everyday experiences and observations. As a physician, he had a profound understanding of human anatomy, which influenced his poetic imagery and attention to detail. Williams' work continues to inspire poets and readers alike with its innovative approach to language and its celebration of the ordinary aspects of life.
