Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Jesus for Most People” is for people who believe God used the Big Bang to create the universe, used evolution to create people, and sent Jesus to teach. The book updates the Enlightenment outlook. It summarizes scholarly work on Jesus and the early Church. It explains the biological evolution of morality and it looks there for clues about God. Some ideas here about Jesus and about the evolution of morality are new but not silly. The book builds a solid base for reasonable belief, so people can avoid religious and secular wackiness.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If God does exist, why is there so much evil in the world? Why do bad things happen to good people? Why do we suffer so many trials and tribulations in our lives? These difficult questions that nonbelievers often use to deny God's existence are addressed in this book with the biblical and religious references and answers. Proof and evidence of God's existence surround us everywhere we go if we simply open our eyes and our minds to the truth. The miracles and incredible balance in nature, the wonder of the human body, the intricate structure of our eyes and ears, cellular complexity, molecular genetics, DNA, the wonders of the Earth and our universe all point to intelligent design. It is beyond belief and comprehension that all of these things could have simply evolved from some freak accident of "nature." The watchmaker's analogy for intelligent design is a good one and is certainly applicable to the creationism versus the evolution and randomness arguments discussed in this book.Jesus performed many miracles that were seen by a multitude of people and recorded by eyewitnesses. But there are also records of modern-day medical miracles that non-Christian doctors cannot explain. Additionally, thousands of people have chosen to share their near-death experiences with a research foundation, and virtually all of them reported that they came back with a profound understanding of God's love. In an interesting 1982 blind prayer study conducted by the San Francisco Medical Center, data suggests that the intercessory prayer to the Judeo-Christian God had a beneficial therapeutic effect in patients who were admitted to a critical care unit.Although there are many biblical and religious documents that recorded events in Jesus's life, there are well over ten independent accounts from outside the biblical record that identify over sixty life events and beliefs about Jesus's life. Finally, we must look to human nature itself for evidence of the existence of God and his son, Jesus Christ. Many Christians, including Jesus, and all but one of his disciples were persecuted, horribly tortured, and died excruciating deaths because of their belief in God. Many people throughout history have been willing to die for what they truly believed in, but no one willingly dies for what they know to be a lie. Finally, how do you approach a nonbeliever and talk with them about faith? This is difficult for most people, as they feel that they must have some specialized training in order to do so. One does not need a special gift to evangelize. The mandate to be a witness applies to every follower of Christ. This book can help you be a true witness!

Most also welcome his teachings as a sound basis for civilization. But what difference does that make now? Why has a whole religion been built on this person? What did he actually say and do? And how can we trust the written records about him? This fast-moving, highly readable book introduces Jesus of Nazareth honestly and openly, with no prior knowledge assumed. Michael Green is the highly respected author of more than fifty books. He has been Principal of St. John's College, Nottingham, Rector to St. Aldate's Church Oxford, and Professor of Evangelism and New Testament at Regent College, Vancouver. He now serves as Senior Research Fellow at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University.

Some of them just had one goal, one great achievement that contributed to the advancement of civilisation in a meaningful way. Others contributed across a wide range of disciplines and achievements. There are different ways to influence the course of history and many avenues of thought and action which can achieve this. We have picked fifty people here whose contribution was undeniably great and lasting. Whether it was discovering new lands and cultures, devising schools and methods of thought or science or inventing new devices or concepts to enhance the life of the populous; these people represent the best of humanity (for the most part) and the world was a better, or at least a different, place because of them.

Book excerpt: Why Jesus is the Only Way to God is about the real Jesus. In a world where truth is relative and not absolute. It begins with the Biblical character of God, and how people, even some Christians, view Him. Then I have differences between relative and absolute truth in the next chapter and how people tend to look at everything as relative. I also give examples of what we know is true. For example, George Washington was the first president of the US. In chapters 3 and 4, I compare world religions and the occult with Biblical Christianity and how Christianity is uniquely different among other religions. There's also a chart that lays out the differences among them.I've also included the lie that people usually use when they don't want to submit to righteousness like: All Faiths are the same or that's your belief/opinion that Jesus is the only way. It's also another way satan's been successful. In Chapter 5, I wrote how satan's been successful in deceiving peoples' minds since the beginning of Adam. I even used the book The Da Vinci Code and evolution as examples in just how blind people, and even some Christians, are. There are commits from famous inventers' opinions on evolution. Then the following chapter explains why He is the way to God. I included past followers of Christ who have been persecuted for His sake and how most people respond to the gospel today. In chapter 7, is about the reason people deny Christ due to pride and ignorance. I also wrote what former president said about the Bible to prove it's fact. The last two chapters are about Heaven and Hell along with a gospel message. I end it with the understanding of God, Man, and Free Will.

This book, a twentieth-anniversary revised and expanded edition, includes studies that range from exploration of the philosophical structure of Eastern culture to present-day sociopolitical realities in Malaysia and China—all in support of cross-cultural methods of reading the Bible culturally and reading the cultures biblically.

Not a whole lot of us ever do. The reason is that we have departed in some significant ways from the biblical view of Christian life and growth. The New Testament highlights the communal, missional, and eschatological aspects of our walk with God. We grow in our faith as individual Christians to the degree that we are (a) deeply rooted relationally in a local church community that is (b) passionately playing its part in God's grand story of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration, and (c) intently anticipating the summing of all things in Christ when Jesus returns. In recent decades, American evangelicals have traded away community, outreach, and the Bible's teaching about eternity future for the pursuit of individual religious experience in the here-and-now. Why We Need the Church to Become More Like Jesus traces this departure from biblical Christianity through recent decades of popular evangelical trends and reminds us that faith centered on community, mission, and the story line of Scripture remains the key to the spiritual formation of the individual Christian.

Book excerpt: Written in a 'coffee talk' format, this is a VERY helpful book for both the seeker and Bible student. Pastor Greg writes in a style as if he's sitting across from you, talking one to one, fielding your questions about Jesus, as well as, controversial topics. A must-read, aid for everyone's library! In everyone's life there comes a time when they go on a God search, which usually involves listening to "religious experts." You watch CNN's Larry King Live show and a supposed "religious expert" says one thing about what the Bible really says and the very next night a different "expert" states just the opposite. (Most people think, "O.K. What's up with that?") You read about Christians being put in Roman coliseums with lions because they refuse to denounce their King, missionaries in third world countries dying for their faith, study martyrs over the last twenty centuries being killed for "the cause" only to watch stories of TV preachers living lavish lifestyles of jets, limousines and mansions and say to yourself, "What's wrong with this picture?" The Biblical insights to all these relevant questions, especially in a crazy, confusing, 9/11, violent world, are in this no non-sense, straight ahead, "pull no punches" examination of Christianity by Greg Haage, a successful professional musician and recording artist who's now in ministry called to counsel and train others in "the faith" with one goal in mind: Getting people free from "religious works" or "denominational duties" and pointing them to the One who made the footprints in the sand. www.UpFrontMinistries.com

So why do people ask the question, “If God is so good, why does he allow evil to happen to people?” Of course, most people ask this question rhetorically. The answer is quite simple. We are free! We have the freedom to do anything we want, even if and when consequences follow. So if we steal and we are caught, we reap the consequences of that action. Likewise, if we study God’s rulebook and apply the principles and promises therein, we will reap the positive results of our freedom of choice. We are the most blessed people on Earth if we choose to be. God’s forgiveness, health, and prosperity become ours when we believe God’s Word.

Book excerpt: Following Rabbi Jesus is a surprising exposure of who the Jesus we find in the Gospels really is, what he teaches those who dare to follow him, and how he models what it means to live God's radical-kingdom way. The reader of the book will discover in this exploration a very different Jesus from the celebrity or hero of much popular church culture, the tame, ineffective Jesus of compromised Christianity, and the inaccessible, conceptual Christ of much academic theology. The reader who takes the chance of honestly engaging the Jesus we meet in the Gospel stories may find an engaging and liberating contrast to the life he is now living. He may even want to make a turn or two, and start over.
