Book Synopsis Iterative Learning Control by : Zeungnam Bien
Download or read book Iterative Learning Control written by Zeungnam Bien and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Iterative Learning Control (ILC) differs from most existing control methods in the sense that, it exploits every possibility to incorporate past control informa tion, such as tracking errors and control input signals, into the construction of the present control action. There are two phases in Iterative Learning Control: first the long term memory components are used to store past control infor mation, then the stored control information is fused in a certain manner so as to ensure that the system meets control specifications such as convergence, robustness, etc. It is worth pointing out that, those control specifications may not be easily satisfied by other control methods as they require more prior knowledge of the process in the stage of the controller design. ILC requires much less information of the system variations to yield the desired dynamic be haviors. Due to its simplicity and effectiveness, ILC has received considerable attention and applications in many areas for the past one and half decades. Most contributions have been focused on developing new ILC algorithms with property analysis. Since 1992, the research in ILC has progressed by leaps and bounds. On one hand, substantial work has been conducted and reported in the core area of developing and analyzing new ILC algorithms. On the other hand, researchers have realized that integration of ILC with other control techniques may give rise to better controllers that exhibit desired performance which is impossible by any individual approach.
Book Synopsis Iterative Learning Control by : Yangquan Chen
Download or read book Iterative Learning Control written by Yangquan Chen and published by Springer. This book was released on 2007-10-03 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides readers with a comprehensive coverage of iterative learning control. The book can be used as a text or reference for a course at graduate level and is also suitable for self-study and for industry-oriented courses of continuing education. Ranging from aerodynamic curve identification robotics to functional neuromuscular stimulation, Iterative Learning Control (ILC), started in the early 80s, is found to have wide applications in practice. Generally, a system under control may have uncertainties in its dynamic model and its environment. One attractive point in ILC lies in the utilisation of the system repetitiveness to reduce such uncertainties and in turn to improve the control performance by operating the system repeatedly. This monograph emphasises both theoretical and practical aspects of ILC. It provides some recent developments in ILC convergence and robustness analysis. The book also considers issues in ILC design. Several practical applications are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of ILC. The applied examples provided in this monograph are particularly beneficial to readers who wish to capitalise the system repetitiveness to improve system control performance.

Download or read book Essays on Control written by H.L. Trentelman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the text of the plenary lectures and the mini-courses of the European Control Conference (ECC'93) held in Groningen, the Netherlands, June 2S-July 1, 1993. However, the book is not your usu al conference proceedings. Instead, the authors took this occasion to take a broad overview of the field of control and discuss its development both from a theoretical as well as from an engineering perpective. The first essay is by the key-note speaker ofthe conference, A.G.J. Mac Farlane. It consists of a non-technical discussion of information processing and knowledge acquisition as the key features of control engineering tech nology. The next six articles are accounts of the plenary addresses. The contribution by R.W. Brockett concerns a mathematical framework for modelling motion control, a central question in robotics and vision. In the paper by M. Morari the engineering and the economic relevance of chemical process control are considered, in particular statistical quality control and the control of systems with constraints. The article by A.C.P.M. Backx is written from an industrial perspec tive. The author is director of an engineering consulting firm involved in the design of industrial control equipment. Specifically, the possibility of obtaining high performance and reliable controllers by modelling, identifi cation, and optimizing industrial processes is discussed.

Download or read book Synergy and Duality of Identification and Control written by Yelena Veressinina and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1999-10-28 with total page 528 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Synergy and Duality of Identification and Control examines the relationship between modelling and control of dynamic systems. Both stochastic and worst-case design approaches are presented. System identification is introducted in worst-case and stochastic frameworks. Interaction between modelling and control is studied at four levels: separate identification and control design, iterative identification and control design, dual control and synergistic interaction of modelling and control. The last part of the book focuses on fast learning control systems via parametric models. This comprehensive monograph is equally suitable for graduate students as well as for researchers in the fields of control engineering and digital signal processing.

Book Synopsis Industrial Process Identification and Control Design by : Tao Liu
Download or read book Industrial Process Identification and Control Design written by Tao Liu and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-11-16 with total page 487 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Industrial Process Identification and Control Design is devoted to advanced identification and control methods for the operation of continuous-time processes both with and without time delay, in industrial and chemical engineering practice. The simple and practical step- or relay-feedback test is employed when applying the proposed identification techniques, which are classified in terms of common industrial process type: open-loop stable; integrating; and unstable, respectively. Correspondingly, control system design and tuning models that follow are presented for single-input-single-output processes. Furthermore, new two-degree-of-freedom control strategies and cascade control system design methods are explored with reference to independently-improving, set-point tracking and load disturbance rejection. Decoupling, multi-loop, and decentralized control techniques for the operation of multiple-input-multiple-output processes are also detailed. Perfect tracking of a desire output trajectory is realized using iterative learning control in uncertain industrial batch processes. All the proposed methods are presented in an easy-to-follow style, illustrated by examples and practical applications. This book will be valuable for researchers in system identification and control theory, and will also be of interest to graduate control students from process, chemical, and electrical engineering backgrounds and to practising control engineers in the process industry.
