The process examined is similar to Mitsubishi Chemical process. In this process, the Isosorbide Polycarbonate plant is integrated with a plant for isosorbide production from glucose and a plant for diphenyl carbonate production from ethylene oxide. The process uses a 70 wt% glucose-water syrup as raw material and generates ethylene glycol as by-product.
