Book excerpt: Se realizo la investigacion en un liceo de la localidad de 680 estudiantes, para el estudio se tomo una muestra de 136 alumnos que constituyeron el 20% del estudiantado total del liceo en edades comprendidas entre los 12 y 18 anos. Se tomo en cuenta el metodo estadistico del percentil 95 y se determino por grupo etario la tension sistolica y diastolica que correspondia al percentil 95. todos los casos por encima de este nivel fueron considerados como positivos, es decir tenian cifras tensionales elevadas. Se obtuvo como resultado 7 casos positivos, lo que constituyo un 5,14% de estudiantes con cifras tensionales elevadas y de estos 5 eran del sexo masculino constituyendo el 71,43% y 2 eran del sexo femenino constituyendo el 28,57% del total de pacientes con cifras tensionales elevadas. Se les realizo tambien examenes de sangre, orina, estudio radiologico, electrocardiograma y se les elaboro una ficha clinica.
