Book excerpt: L évolutions démographique, nous invite à étudier la nécessite de la création d’une équipe mobile de liaison de gériatrie en psychiatrie. Celle-ci est située sur le site des «oliviers » (site de la psychiatrie) à l’hôpital de Beaumont sur Oise, dans le Val d’Oise. Cette unité est rattachée au territoire du 95.3. Nous rapportons l’expérience qui concerne 20 patients âgés de plus de soixante dix ans, hospitalisés en psychiatrie. L’Equipe Mobile de Gériatrie (EMG) apporte une évaluation globale médico-psychologique et sociale, avec a l’entrée une évaluation globale à l’aide d’outils standardisés validés. Il est également réalisé un suivi au cours de l’hospitalisation. Notre rôle a permis une amélioration de l’autonomie, une diminution de la iatrogénie et une diminution de la polymédication. L’EMG a permis d’organiser en amont les hospitalisations permettant d’éviter le recours aux urgences. L’EMG en relation avec les médecins traitants évite également les hospitalisations prolongées.
