This book was released on 2021-06-20 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph describes the results of detection of traveling ionospheric disturbances and their parameters estimation based on long-term observations using Kharkiv incoherent scatter radar. For a couple of events, the data of other incoherent scatter radars were employed for comparative analysis. The book reports the results of traveling ionospheric disturbance observations during high energy natural and artificial sources. The book will be useful for scientific researchers, lecturers, PhD and undergraduate students working and studying in the field of electrical and electronic engineering, space and planetary science, atmospheric science, statistical and nonlinear physics, and geophysics.

Book Synopsis Incoherent Scatter Study of Dynamics in the Ionosphere E- and F-Region at Arecibo by : Yun Gong
Download or read book Incoherent Scatter Study of Dynamics in the Ionosphere E- and F-Region at Arecibo written by Yun Gong and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis reports the investigation of the dynamics and associated phenomena occurring in the ionospheric E- and F-region heights above Arecibo. The observational data was derived with an incoherent scatter radar (ISR) from Arecibo Observatory, Puerto Rico. The thesis focuses primarily on two aspects. One is to study the atmospheric tidal and planetary waves. This is the first time that dual-beam ISR has been used for E- and F-region tidal and planetary wave studies. The vertical structures of the observed tidal and planetary waves are analyzed rigorously. This study is the first to report the existence and possible excitation mechanism of a terdiurnal tide in the F-region at low latitude. The second aspect is to give a more complete explanation of the midnight collapse phenomenon. The F-region electric field, ambipolar diffusion, and tidal components in the meridional wind all play a role in causing the midnight collapse at Arecibo.

Book Synopsis A Problem-Solving Workbook on Ionospheric and Space Physics by : Rezy Pradipta
Download or read book A Problem-Solving Workbook on Ionospheric and Space Physics written by Rezy Pradipta and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2023-01-19 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Problem-Solving Workbook on Ionospheric and Space Physics Enables students to understand and master basic and advanced concepts of space, atmosphere, and ionospheric physics A Problem-Solving Workbook on Ionospheric and Space Physics is a unique textbook that contains a set of problems and exercises accompanied with complete solutions that explore and elucidate the most relevant concepts in ionospheric and space physics. The author has chosen problems that are interesting topic-wise, challenging, and that exemplify the physical and mathematical reasoning in ionospheric and space physics. Specifically, the text conveys core concepts of ionospheric and space physics using a problem-based approach. Each problem elucidates prototypical aspects that readers can easily generalize. Each problem also consists of multi-part questions to facilitate step-by-step understanding. A short introduction to each problem defines the theme and provides context to the readers. In A Problem-Solving Workbook on Ionospheric and Space Physics, readers can expect to learn about: Remote sensing of ionospheric plasmas from the ground, ionospheric slab thickness of a transparent layer, reflectometry, and doppler effects in reflection/refraction of electromagnetic waves Chapman theory of ionospheric layer formation, magnetic fields generated by the equatorial electrojet current, and fundamentals of GPS total electron content (TEC) measurements Barker codes and radar pulse compression, abel inversion of ionosonde trace data, and phase and group velocities of acoustic-gravity waves The use of deconvolution in radar scans, sporadic-E layers and Kelvin-Helmholtz instability due to wind shear, and Brunt-Vaisala frequency Thanks to the careful selection of included material, A Problem-Solving Workbook on Ionospheric and Space Physics serves as a gateway for advanced students and early-career researchers towards actual research-level problems in the field. As the problems are textbook-agnostic, students can easily self-study and learn about the subject outside the classroom.
