Book excerpt: Will friendship strike out after one night of passion, or will mutual desire make it a home run? Piper I met the rookie baseball player with piercing blue eyes and a Southern drawl on my first day as a tour guide. Colin Winters was only supposed to be a one-night impulsive indulgence. Instead, the easy connection between us became an addiction. Colin believed in me when no one else ever had. He encouraged me to take risks and chase my most ambitious dreams. Finally, I was taking charge of my life. Then, two blue lines change everything... Colin The adventure tour was supposed to be a team bonding experience. All it took was one look at Piper Rigby, the beautiful, blonde tour guide, and I was completely distracted. Her passion for life and photography was inspiring. Yet, sadly, no one had ever encouraged her to follow her dreams. I wanted to be the guy who did. Being around her was intoxicating. She didn't care about my major league aspirations or the money that went along with it. In fact, Piper didn't want anything from me. Which is one of the many reasons I wanted to give her everything. We agreed to one night together, but it just wasn't enough. One way or another, I'm determined to make her see we belong together. Even if that means taking a timeout in the friend zone for a while... For fans of Melanie Harlow

Book excerpt: This book is about a journey into the workings of the Soul. The truth about a human being's life purpose and the keys to transform one's life have been discussed and written about for centuries, by many different people, of many different spiritual persuasions. These truths, whilst written in different languages and supported by different religious beliefs, nevertheless have come from the same Divine source, and subsequently are universal truth that when embraced bring forth unified outcomes. In the writing of this book I have harmonized these important Spiritual, Psychological and Philosophical truths, bringing them together to reveal the keys to a holistically successful life, body, mind and Soul. I envisage that by accepting and acting on this truth your life will be quietly transformed, perhaps from one of anxiousness and uncertainty, to one of calm and certainty, which will find you at peace with your past, intensely passionate about your present, and confident and calm about your future.

Book Synopsis Stamped on Every Child's Heart- Impulsive Behavior by : Rebecca Dawson
Download or read book Stamped on Every Child's Heart- Impulsive Behavior written by Rebecca Dawson and published by Blue Room Publications, LLC. This book was released on 2014-04-01 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you know an impulsive child? One who is full of exaggerations, quick to respond, careless with words, and acts without thinking. Do you have a child who gets out of his seat regularly while he's not suppose to, interrupts conversations, or jumps to the front of the line uninvited? Impulsiveness is the quick, natural response for these kids. They might do all these things and more (keep in mind, they generally do them rapidly). Nevertheless in the very same breathe, impulsive kids can be quick to defend, remorseful for poor decisions, and able to leap over obstacles in a single bound. There's a gift for us to discover in impulsiveness. The disciple, Peter, emulates both the strengths and weaknesses of impulsive behavior. Impulsiveness had Peter rushing into the water to meet Jesus, while also quickly cutting off a soldier's ear. He was quick to defend, responded without thinking, and passionate beyond words. His impulsiveness allowed him to experience the miracle of walking on water, while everyone else watched him from inside the boat. The beauty of Peter's impulsiveness is displayed within his life. Peter's impulsiveness allowed him to experience close encounters with God. He's authentic and real. He's growing and he's a challenge. But in the end, he's solid, and the guy others wanted to follow. Discovering the gift of impulsiveness begins in the life of Peter.
Download or read book Exaholics written by Lisa Marie Bobby and published by Union Square & Co.. This book was released on 2016-02-10 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Severing a cherished relationship is one of the most painful experiences in life—and cutting those emotional ties to a loved one can feel almost like ending an addiction. Up till now, people recovering from other problems were able to get real help—like AA and rehab—while those struggling in the aftermath of traumatic breaks dealt with platitudes and friends insisting they should "get over it already." But now Exaholics Anonymous treats getting over an ex like kicking a chemical habit. Written by counselor and therapist Dr. Lisa Bobby, Exaholics offers meaningful support and advice to anyone trapped in the obsessive pain of a broken, or dying, attachment. She helps the brokenhearted heal, showing them, on a deep level, how to develop a conceptual framework for their experience, understand the emotional processes at work inside themselves, find the path to recovery, and free themselves of shame, injured ego, and remorse. In-depth case studies of others' journeys will illuminate the way to future happiness.

Book Synopsis Disciple Beyond Mediocrity by : Brian Byrne
Download or read book Disciple Beyond Mediocrity written by Brian Byrne and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2020-08-27 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Disciple. Beyond Mediocrity addresses the problem of mediocrity found in many churches that are locked into the status quo. In this book Dr. Byrne portrays the life of a disciple in strict accordance with what the scriptures teach and as an essential element in the renewal of our faith before the Lord returns At the heart of Dr. Byrne's examination is the question of mediocrity as it has plagued churches and Christians without number. Dr. Byrne exposes the nature of mediocrity and on that foundation builds his study of a disciple whose life can be beyond mediocrity. Dr. Byrne explores the seven characteristics of being a disciple based on the Lord's own words. Denying oneself, taking up his cross, following the Lord, forsaking attachments to all he has, abiding in His word, bearing much fruit, and loving one another. Central to his study of the life of a disciple are the twin spiritual skills; living by faith and living in the Spirit, with the subject that is central to both; being able to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. Dr. Byrne then presents his readers with a step by step instruction on how to live by faith, and includes a memorable parable that reflects his own relationship with the Lord; the Garden of My Heart. The final part of the book takes a leap into the future with Dr. Byrne exploring four events in the life of a disciple in the end of days: being caught up to meet the Lord in the air and being transformed in a brief moment of time into His immortal image; giving account at the judgment seat; the marriage of the bride of Christ with the Lord; and the return of the Lord to the earth, with His transfigured disciples, to reign with Him for a thousand years. The book concludes with an examination of the destiny of the Lord's disciples in the New Jerusalem that descends to the earth at the end of time. There can be no doubt that Dr. Byrne knows what he is writing about. Each chapter bears the distinctive stamp of personal knowledge and experience. This book should be required reading for all Christians, for those who lead churches, and for those who train leaders in colleges and universities round the world.

Book excerpt: This Christmas, I’d better not fall in love with my brother’s best friend… again. A long time ago I fell in love with my brother’s best friend, Heath. We kept our relationship a secret, knowing my brother would never approve. I had faith that in time we would come clean and declare our love to the world, but Heath broke things off before that could ever happen. I fled from my hometown and vowed never to return. Now I’ve inherited my grandmother’s Inn and I have no choice but to go back. It’s not as simple as just selling the property, it needs to be renovated first. When the realtor said he knew just the guy, I never suspected it would be Heath. The moment he steps back into my life, I can’t deny that the attraction is even greater than it was all those years ago. While renovating the Inn, Heath is determined to remind me of everything I loved about my grandmother’s property and his family’s Christmas tree farm. Nothing has ever felt more like home, than when I’m with Heath. Could these feelings be real or is it the magic of the holidays fooling me into falling in love with Heath again?

Book excerpt: This Christmas, I might finally find my way out of the friend-zone and into my best friend’s heart. Sebastian and I have been best friends forever. He knows everything about me, except that I’ve secretly crushed on him for years. When Sebastian finds himself without a nanny over the holidays, he makes me an offer I can’t refuse. Move into his cabin on the family’s Christmas tree farm and be a nanny to his little girl. I’d love to step out of the friend-zone and into his arms, but it’s time I accepted that Sebastian will always look at me as his faithful friend. Determined to change my single status (and tired of the pitying comments from our families), I jump at the opportunity to participate in the Christmas tree farm’s bachelorette auction. I might not find Mr. Forever, but I might just find Mr. Fun-For-The-Holidays instead. Imagine my surprise when Sebastian outbids everyone to win a date with me. I would’ve considered it a pity date, until I arrive at the ice-rink covered with fairy lights and enough mistletoe to make even Scrooge a romantic. I’m swept out of the friend-zone and into a hot and steamy night with my best friend. Just when I’m sure that my Christmas wish has been granted and Sebastian and his daughter start to feel like family, his ex shows up threatening to destroy everything we’ve built. Will he choose me, or will I be pushed back into the friend-zone?
