Le but de ce projet était de vérifier l'impact psycho-béhavioral, sur les patients, d'une meilleure communication en postopératoire d'une chirurgie parodontale. Cette étude a été réalisée auprès de 108 patients; 61 recevant une feuille de consignes postopératoires standard et 47 recevant un guide de consignes vulgarisé, contenant plus d'information et d'un format plus attrayant. L'impact de ce guide a été évalué par un questionnaire remis aux patients lors de leur premier rendez-vous postopératoire. Les résultats indiquent que les patients ont trouvé plus utile, de façon statistiquement significative, le guide de consignes élaboré dans le cadre de ce projet. Une tendance à la baisse a également été observée quant au nombre de patients ayant besoin de rappeler la clinique pour avoir des renseignements supplémentaires.
