Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The concept of quantum computing is based on two fundamental principles of quantum mechanics: superposition and entanglement. Instead of using bits, qubits are used in quantum computing, which is a key indicator in the high level of safety and security this type of cryptography ensures. If interfered with or eavesdropped in, qubits will delete or refuse to send, which keeps the information safe. This is vital in the current era where sensitive and important personal information can be digitally shared online. In computer networks, a large amount of data is transferred worldwide daily, including anything from military plans to a country’s sensitive information, and data breaches can be disastrous. This is where quantum cryptography comes into play. By not being dependent on computational power, it can easily replace classical cryptography. Limitations and Future Applications of Quantum Cryptography is a critical reference that provides knowledge on the basics of IoT infrastructure using quantum cryptography, the differences between classical and quantum cryptography, and the future aspects and developments in this field. The chapters cover themes that span from the usage of quantum cryptography in healthcare, to forensics, and more. While highlighting topics such as 5G networks, image processing, algorithms, and quantum machine learning, this book is ideally intended for security professionals, IoT developers, computer scientists, practitioners, researchers, academicians, and students interested in the most recent research on quantum computing.

Book excerpt: This book of Advances in Intelligent and Soft Computing contains accepted papers presented at SOCO 2023 conference held in the beautiful and historic city of Salamanca (Spain) in September 2023. Soft computing represents a collection or set of computational techniques in machine learning, computer science, and some engineering disciplines, which investigate, simulate, and analyze very complex issues and phenomena. After a through peer-review process, the 18th SOCO 2023 International Program Committee selected 61 papers which are published in these conference proceedings and represents an acceptance rate of 60%. In this relevant edition, a particular emphasis was put on the organization of special sessions. Seven special sessions were organized related to relevant topics such as: Time Series Forecasting in Industrial and Environmental Applications, Technological Foundations and Advanced Applications of Drone Systems, Soft Computing Methods in Manufacturing and Management Systems, Efficiency and Explainability in Machine Learning and Soft Computing, Machine Learning and Computer Vision in Industry 4.0, Genetic and Evolutionary Computation in Real World and Industry, and Soft Computing and Hard Computing for a Data Science Process Model. The selection of papers was extremely rigorous to maintain the high quality of the conference. We want to thank the members of the Program Committees for their hard work during the reviewing process. This is a crucial process for creating a high-standard conference; the SOCO conference would not exist without their help.

This book was released on 2024-11-22 with total page 377 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Injuries due to air turbulence has increased recently, therefore there is considerable concern and interest in understanding and detecting it more accurately. Presently hardly any research deals with air turbulence detection using remote sensing images. Most works use conventional optical remote sensing data with classical methods such as a library spectral signature, band ratio, and principal component analysis without designating new methods and technology. Very little research has attempted to implement optical and microwave remote sensing images for air turbulence detections. This book provides new image processing procedures for air turbulence detection using advanced remote sensing images and quantum image processing. Currently, there is a huge gap between research work in the field of air turbulence detection and advanced remote sensing technology. Most of the theories are not operated in terms of software modules. Most of the software packages in the field of remote sensing images cannot deal with advanced image processing techniques in air turbulence detections due to heavy mathematics work. In this view, this book fills a gap between advanced remote sensing technology and air turbulence detection. For instance, quantum image processing with a new generation of remote sensing technology such as RADARSAT-2 SAR images is also implemented to provide accurate air turbulence detections.

Book excerpt: Remote Sensing and Image Processing in Mineralogy reveals the critical tools required to comprehend the latest technology surrounding the remote sensing imaging of mineralogy, oil and gas explorations. It particularly focusses on multispectral, hyperspectral and microwave radar, as the foremost sources to understand, analyze and apply concepts in the field of mineralogy. Filling the gap between modern physics quantum theory and image processing applications of remote sensing imaging of geological features, mineralogy, oil and gas explorations, this reference is packed with technical details associated with the potentiality of multispectral, hyperspectral and synthetic aperture radar (SAR). The book also includes key methods needed to extract the value-added information necessary, such as lineaments, gold and copper minings. This book also reveals novel speculation of quantum spectral mineral signature identifications, named as quantized Marghany’s mineral spectral or Marghany Quantum Spectral Algorithms for Mineral identifications (MQSA). Rounding out with practical simulations of 4-D open-pit mining identification and monitoring using the hologram radar interferometry technique, this book brings an effective new source of technology and applications for today’s minerology and petroleum engineers. Key Features • Helps develop new algorithms for retrieving mineral mining potential zones in remote sensing data. • Solves specific problems surrounding the spectral signature libraries of different minerals in multispectral and hyperspectral data. • Includes over 200 equations that illustrate how to follow examples in the book.

Book excerpt: Often, no single field or expert has all the information necessary to solve complex problems, and this is no less true in the fields of electronics and communications systems. Transdisciplinary engineering solutions can address issues arising when a solution is not evident during the initial development stages in the multidisciplinary area. This book presents the proceedings of RDECS-2022, the 1st international conference on Recent Developments in Electronics and Communication Systems, held on 22 and 23 July 2022 at Aditya Engineering College, Surampalem, India. The primary goal of RDECS-2022 was to challenge existing ideas and encourage interaction between academia and industry to promote the sort of collaborative activities involving scientists, engineers, professionals, researchers, and students that play a major role in almost all fields of scientific growth. The conference also aimed to provide an arena for showcasing advancements and research endeavors being undertaken in all parts of the world. A large number of technical papers with rich content, describing ground-breaking research from participants from various institutes, were submitted for presentation at the conference. This book presents 108 of these papers, which cover a wide range of topics ranging from cloud computing to disease forecasting and from weather reporting to the detection of fake news. Offering a fascinating overview of recent research and developments in electronics and communications systems, the book will be of interest to all those working in the field.
